I am writing to express my disappointment with the customer service I received today. I called regarding a part that is covered under warranty, and spoke with a representative named Madison. When I inquired whether the order placed by Via (the installer company) had been approved, I was unable to get a clear answer – neither a simple "yes" nor "no." Furthermore, when I asked for an ETA for the part, I again received no helpful response. Instead, I was told to contact Via directly. I followed this instruction, only to learn that Via had no information regarding the delivery of the part. Frustrated, I called Whirlpool again and requested to speak with a supervisor. Unfortunately, I was informed that no supervisor was available, and I would have to wait until the next business day for a call back. This experience has been an absolute waste of my time, and I spent over 45 minutes on the phone with no resolution. Definitely no Whirlpool products for me in the future.
Beyond horrible customer service is the Whirlpool way. Call one day, get one story. Call the next day, get a different story as to why you have been waiting over 4 months for a part for your appliance. Promises for a customer service lead to call you back are not fulfilled. Agents are unapologetic. It's an insane way to "serve" customers. Best strategy: NEVER buy Whirlpool/Kitchenaid appliance.
I want to thank Whirlpool Corporation for selling me a washer that just barely fills with water and gets off balance on every wash and clothes come out in one big ball. I cannot put my bedding (2 sheets and pillow cases) in the washer without this happening, much less put a small door mat or my small dog bed in it. I now need to take those to the laundromat to wash. Oh how I wish I had my Kenmore back. I could do an entire week’s worth of laundry with zero problems. It filled with water. WoW. I know Big Brother knows best. Now rather than doing one large load I have to do 2 or 3 loads taking over 1 hour per load when my Kenmore could do an entire week’s worth of laundry in 20 to 30 minutes and one load of colors and one load of whites. I am constantly running up and down to the basement to reset the washer because it is off balance and it starts all over with the cycle. It takes me well over an hour and sometimes 2 or more trips down the basement just to do a small load. Now that saves energy?????. LOL Also the clothes come out wetter than they did in my good old Kenmore, thus not getting dry in the 70 minutes on the good old Whirlpool dryer which I bought at the same time. How I wish I had kept my Kenmore, I donated it so I would have a matching pair. I called customer service yesterday and talked to a rep who informed me that that is what I am stuck with and she would sell me a new one that did fill. My Whirlpools are 2 years old and I have been fighting this problem ever since the first load. Service has been out several times and they tell me there is nothing they can do. I’m stuck with it. Both are pieces of crap, unusable and certainly not energy efficient beings all the extra loads I have to do and it is only me. Anything the least bit heavy needs to go to the laundromat at about $15 a pop. I will never buy another Whirlpool product at any price. I am a dissatisfied consumer. Where is your slogan Customer Satisfaction. Do others agree? Let’s drown social media with complaints on totally unfunctionable products. My model No. is WTW4955HW2. They need to be recalled and this problem needs to be solved. Let’s stick together. These were purchased at Home Depot on 7/17/22. I am going to post on my Facebook page too. Just got through doing a small load. It took 3 hours to complete. Kept getting off balance many times and finally quit spinning. Took out the clothes and I could wring water out of them. Just threw them in t he dryer. Can't deal with this piece of crap any longer.
They deserve ZERO STARS. Worst appliances I have ever owned in 60 years of life. I bought a new home, it came with 7 Whirlpool appliances, (I would have NEVER PURCHASED them on my own.) Within 1 years ALL 7 HAVE HAD TO BE REPAIRED. THE COMPANY IS FULLY AWARE THEIR APPLIANCES ARE GARBAGE. EVERY DAY, I received junk mail to purchase extended warranty FOR $400 a year FOR EACH APPLIANCE. This is their SCAM. THEY MAKE THEIR MONEY BY SELLING JUNK AND GETTING OUTRAGEOUS PRICES FOR WARRANTY. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY SAMSUNG. OR ACTUALLY ANY OTHER BRAND. All of my neighbors also have terrible awful problems with the Whirlpool appliances.
Purchased Whirlpool washer Mod: WTW4816FW3, March 2023. From the start it was noisy, at times sounded like gears scraping, shaky and water sensor never worked properly, and in September 2024 ( 1.5 yrs. from purchase date & of course after warranty was out)... when the washer finished its cycle, the drain pump was continuously running. Called Whirlpool repair, and all they wanted to do was sell me an expensive repair program to get a repair person here to look at it. After some research with price of parts that might or might not fix it, I sucked it up and purchased a new washer...BUT NOT A WHIRLPOOL!! I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance!! Whir;pool product was a piece of junk...but they got $$$ from me. Shame on you Whirlpool.
No stars. This company is the worst ever. I bought a brand new refrigerator from them (Whirlpool) and within about a year and a half, all of the plastic shelving began inexplicably cracking and then fell apart. To add insult to injury, when I called them to notify them about this very weird phenomenon, they completely couldn’t care less and said that the warranty had run out, and it was just too bad! There would be nothing they would even attempt to do for any kind of compensation. I repeatedly made contact with them over the following six years, including writing letters accompanied by photos, only to be flicked off and ignored with a smugness normally attributed to the Mafia, or some other criminal organization. Do not buy anything from this poor excuse of a company.
I purchased a whirlpool dryer on 8/31/2024 from Stantons Appliance Baton Rouge,La WED 4950HWSerial number MD 2566689The service department has been to my house 4 times in the first 6 weeks because the dryer takes over 2 hours to dry only a 1/2 load to 1/4 load of clothes. Finally Wade changed out the heater which he said was good and the thermostat. The dryer does perform a little better with 1/2 load of clothes are most of time damp and have to be dried again. The service department is excellent at coming out and trying to repair the problem. My old LG dryer had no problem drying a full load of clothes in less than an hour. I am disappointed in this Whirlpool dryer.
As part of the deal when I bought my house in Dec. 2022, the previous owners had to replace the existing refrigerator. They left a brand new Whirlpool. Firstly the design itself is awful. Nothing fits well into the shelf compartments, as if the engineers just threw something together without any regard for what might be stored there. The top isn't flat, rather it's bulging as if someone jammed stuff inside to make it fit, and now the seal on the freezer has peeled halfway off so the door no longer shuts right, leaving a situation with ice and frost forming inside.I would expect more from an old established brand like this, including a company that can stand behind a major purchase like this for more than one year. I will probabloy soon be replacing this unit and will steer way clear of buying any Whirlpool products in the future.
