Review Time
I placed an order for a 2-year subscription Sept 20th. After a really bad experience with the customer service on Sept 29th, I decided not to commit to Youfone for 2 more years, and decided to switch back to a monthly contract so I can leave as soon as I find another provider. I submitted a cancellation request 10 days later on Sept 30th. This was before the start date of the new subscription (Oct 1st), and within the 14-day cooling-off period.This is their response:"This department indicates that it is not possible to remove the extension. The subscription for 2 years will continue as usual."They are forcing me to stay with them for 2 more years even though it goes against their own policies, without giving me a reason as to why this is in any way valid. I did not believe it was possible for their level of customer service to sink any lower, but apparently they managed to outdo themselves.
I have an unlimited internet bundle which I need to for working on the train. However it is capped at 1GB, then I need to click in the app to unlock another trance of 1GB. However if you forget to do this in time your phone is locked out from internet, so you cannot use the new tranche. Other providers allow you to add more by SMS, just feels odd to have an unlimited bundle but then need to click for more every time.
The service is good, but their pricing for the "Dataplafond"is ridiculous. Either you pay extra every single month for them to tell you that you've used all of your data for the month and stop further usage, or they will charge you a ridiculously large amount for every single MB you use beyond that. This is clearly a predatory practice aimed at charging you more, either per month or when you go over the limit, for a service that other Dutch mobile providers give you for free while still allowing you to use your data connection at a lower speed. Even if you pay the extra fee and block the internet connection, you'll still end up with a phone without any internet connection.
