Zipcar Fraud!!!!

People need to be very aware that Zipcar will fine you with absolutely no proof or evidence that you caused damage to their car. They can also take this payment without your permission. My partner was accused by zipcar of damaging their car and charged him £1000!! He did not do this and they had absolutely nothing to prove that he did. For such a large amount of money there was no fair process of establishing fault. They just decided he was at fault and that was it! I've deleted my zipper account and will never use them again.

Absolute scammer

Absolute scammer. They charged me for a parking that was issued 3 days after my booking was over !!!! and they went ahead and paid the fine, but notified me over a month later. So, I did not get to pay the reduced fee, did not get to appeal, and during a time i was not even responsible for the car. Thieves.

Absolute mockery of customer service

Absolute mockery of customer service. They have charged me for application fee until only at the end of process telling me that I had an old account yet to be activated. Instead of helping either opening that, they requested to be be paid again. This is ridiculous, disrespectful and even insulting, I think any self respecting person will not give their hard earned money to this company.

HUGE SCAM! THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY

I am writing to warn others about the deceptive practices of Zipcar. Their advertising claims a simple $25 application fee, but what they don't tell you is that there are hidden fees that can add up to over $200.I was shocked and disappointed when I saw the excessive charges on my account. When I reached out to their customer service department, they were unhelpful and rude. They claimed that it would take days for the pending charge to clear, but refused to escalate the issue or provide a refund for the hidden fees.It's clear that Zipcar is more interested in taking your money than in providing a legitimate service. Their lack of transparency and deceptive practices are unacceptable.Do not, under any circumstance, do business with Zipcar. Their hidden fees and scamming practices will leave you feeling frustrated and ripped off.Avoid this company at all costs!

NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY

NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY! I literally have never used a car or had a membership with them and I was getting charged a membership fee for the past 3 months. I called multiple times and their “fraud dept” still hasn’t gotten back to me and it’s been over 30 days. They told me to wait and just get charged for an account I’ve never used. Customer service is TERRIBLE AND USELESS.

Really bad overall

One of the worst customer services. Called them 2 times for different issues and the people handling customer service were extremely rude and didn’t listen properly. Got my application rejected for no reason and when I applied I was showed that my subtotal is $0 due to a promo but still was charged $25 on my card. This is literally deceiving. And the app verification through mobile phone never works. Never use this service if you have any alternative!

Appalling app

Appalling app, so confusing, unclear about which cars and types are which. Filters don’t work properly and the whole experience is utterly confusing. The only saving grace was the lady on the telephone, who was very lively polite and tried everything she could to try and help. I’ve spent 30 minutes and spent £20+ and still can’t find a car. Management at Zipcar seriously your business needs some help.

Profoundly Disappointed with Zipcar

I had an absolutely devastating experience with Zipcar on Christmas Day. Seven weeks ago, I booked a car to be picked up at 1:00 PM on December 25th, planning to visit my 84-year-old parents, bring them Christmas dinner, and spend the holidays with them. This was a critical trip for me.When I arrived at the pickup location, I discovered that my booking had been cancelled without any prior notice—no email, no phone call, no alert. Nothing. To make matters worse, when I called customer service, the only “solution” offered was to pick up a car hours later in downtown Toronto, leaving me stranded and unable to reach my parents on time. This delay would have meant they’d spend Christmas evening alone, waiting for a meal they wouldn’t have received.Left with no choice, I had to pay for an expensive taxi to make it to them. This completely ruined my day, caused me undue stress, and left me feeling abandoned by a company I trusted to deliver a reliable service.I understand things can go wrong, but the total lack of communication or contingency planning from Zipcar is inexcusable. As a company built on providing dependable transportation, this failure undermines its entire purpose.Because of this experience, I’ve cancelled my membership and will never use Zipcar again. They’ve completely lost my trust. If you’re considering Zipcar, think twice—this is not a service you can count on when it really matters.

Unreliable & Dirty Cars & Frustrating Customer Support

Zipcar failed to deliver its service, leaving me frustrated and causing me to miss a crucial meeting.Early this morning, I was in a rush for a critical meeting in Springfield, MA. I arrived at the Zipcar vehicle, located 15-20 minutes from my apartment, only to find the key fob's battery dead, making it impossible to start the car.I contacted Zipcar's customer support and spoke with a representative named Portia. Despite explaining that I was in a hurry and noting that two Zipcar vehicles were located right across the street, the only option offered was a vehicle situated another 20 minutes away. This solution was unacceptable given the time constraints, and as a result, I missed my meeting because Zipcar failed to provide an acceptable solution.This is the second time Zipcar has let me down. The vehicles are often dirty and frequently show signs of damage. This experience has left me profoundly frustrated with the service.
