Very dodgy company

Rating two stars instead of one because my items actually arrived. They are cheap made in China despite being advertised as directly imported from Nigeria, they also appear to have multiple names? The sponges say afroscrub on the packaging but my bank statement says glownetics however I cannot see anywhere to leave a trustpilot review of somewhere called “glownetics”. I am also very worried about the VIP membership scam that seems to be going on, I don’t remember if my basket added on a VIP membership or not so just keeping my fingers crossed and will take it up with the bank if it does. The soap stinks of palm oil and palm oil is the first ingredient. Do not buy x

Fraudulent company.

You buy their product and they use your card details to subscribe you to their membership (with no authorisation!). They then refuse to refund your money and they keep your card details. BEWARE. Fraudulent company.

This company is a bunch of crooks

This company is a bunch of crooks. They sign you up to a ‘vip customer service experience’ for first dibs on future product launches during your first purchase. Send an email like every other company. For free!!This so-called vip experience is listed as £0.00 on checkout and CANNOT be un-ticked. But you think to yourself, I cannot un-tick this but, it’s nil, I’m sure it’s fine. It’s not fine. At no point on the site is the customer made aware that the £0.00 morphs into a monthly charge for membership that costs more than the actual product purchased. They’re having a laugh. It’s unreasonable, on principle, to charge a monthly fee (for a nonexistent service) that is in excess of the cost of the product. The site should make clear what it intends to do. At point of sale. To give customers a choice. BUYER BEWARE. Swerve this company.

SCAM company making money pretending to be black-owned

To start with they advertise as being authentically African, but the products are all cheap Chinese materials and the soap uses palm oil. Nothing authentic about it. Doesn't appear to be black-owned at all so it's so gross they're making a profit pretending to be. Second, they tacked on some weird "VIP" thing to my cart as FREE without explaining what it was and BAM! Over a month after the purchase I got randomly charged $48 for an "order" I apparently made today with the same bullcrap VIP nonsense that I never selected, never received an explanation for, and definitely NEVER approved of having any money taken for. They seem like a complete scam so I'm currently trying to dispute the charge with my bank because I do NOT trust the company to help at all. DON'T TRUST THEM WITH YOUR BANK DETAILS! You will be ripped off on quality at best and robbed at worst. You're better off finding a company that is genuinely black-owned.

I gave them 1 star because the sponges…

I gave them 1 star because the sponges are nice. But billing is fraudulent. They have this VIP program that is auto included and NOT disclosed. Then they will not give a refund on the charges. I will never ever buy from this company again. They operate like scammers. You will be scammed. Also, the product does not come from Nigeria. It comes from China. So their lying about where it comes from.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware! This is a scam. The website lists their address from a work co-op site in Delaware but the credit charges come from Switzerland. Their website hasn’t been update since 2021. They will sign you up for a non opting out “free” item that will auto renew and charge you every month. Without your authorization. They do not answer their requests for cancellations or refunds. Chargeback and cancel your card if you have purchased!

SCAMMERS!

I tried to contact the customer service to get a full refund for the products I ordered because this business is neither black-owned (the picture of the supposed owner is blatantly AI-generated and there are no infos about "Adebayo Okafor" if you type her name on any search engine), nor African. On the boxes of black soap and kojic acid soap it's clearly written that they are made in China. The whole shipment departed from China. I do not intend to return the items as I wasted enough time to retrieve the package at the post office, only to find out I've been scammed. Don't fall for it as I did.

Not delivered after a month

I ordered my sponge about a month ago. It was advertised that it was coming from Tennessee. After two weeks I saw that it was finally shipped from China. Two weeks later and I’ve yet to receive the AfroScrubs.

Watch Out for the "Premium Support" Scam

I ordered 4 sponges for $34.99, which is pretty expensive for a sponge, but they arrived reasonably quickly and I'm quite happy with them.Today is a month since I placed the order. Included in my original order was a "Premium VIP Support" item with a charge of $0.00. Today I've been charged $29.99 for the renewal of my "support". I have no idea if this is an annual charge or a monthly one. I am, however, confident enough in my sponge-using abilities to know that I do not need paid support.

Scam

This outfit is either utterly chaotic or a scam. I'm pretty sure it's the latter. No communication at all, no response to emails. Say items have been delivered whilst also saying via SHOP that it is with the dispatchers. Read the reviews, I'm normally pretty savvy but they were convincing. I'm going to raise it with my CC company
