I ordered my afroscrub sponges on May 12 and didn’t receive until June 21. I ordered 6 sponges to give 4 as gifts. I received 3 sponges in the afroscrub packaging and 3 in storage baggies. I certainly can’t give those as gifts. It is totally unacceptable that they should send me that stuff
This company is a scam! I ordered 2 sponges. I was tracking and it took a month to see any movement. It was supposed delivered to a postal facility for pick up because they said the courier tried several times to deliver and I wasn’t available. I live in a building with 24 reception! They apologized and said to contact the courier and gave me a tracking link. I checked the status again and my package is now in another state. The courier’s website has broken links and no customer service number.
I noticed a charge from Afroscrub on my account today. I only ordered once, in May, but saw that I was charged in June and again in July. I DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS! I tried the phone number on the website and the call keeps dropping after the second prompt. I emailed and got a response that I signed up for a subscription at checkout. I saw on my original order an item for Premium VIP Support & Early Access to New Product Launches for FREE. I didn't select this. I asked for proof that I signed up for a subscription and why didn't I receive confirmation of said subscription. I then received notification that my subscription was cancelled. I then received notification that I will receive a refund for $29.99. The order summary shows Premium VIP Support & Early Access to New Product Launches for $29.99. THAT is the subscription.If you see the Premium VIP Support & Early Access to New Product Launches on your order at checkout, uncheck it if you don't want recurring charges. You may be getting charged and never receiving the product or it may be delayed. Too much to try to keep track of. I did get notification that I'll be refunded for both months, I'll wait to see if this happens. I also got a call back from Afroscrub from 833-834-1314 asking about my inquiry. Just be careful.
AfroScrub signed me up for a “VIP subscription” without my full consent and began charging me £23 per month. No products were ever sent. When I complained, I received an unhelpful response. From reading other reviews, this appears to be a pattern. Please do not order from this company.
I ordered a red cloth and received pink. I sent several emails containing pictures of the item. Today I received a response that the item will not be replaced because the pink cloth is a variation of the color red. I sent the inquiry on 5/27/25. Today is 6/16/25. The items are also shipped from China whereas it is advertised that it is derived from Nigeria. This company is complete SCAMMERS!!! I will never order again and tell my family and friends the same! This was a gift for my nephew who has skin concerns. RED is also his favorite color. So, the pink cloth is unacceptable and I’ll have to order from somewhere else to include in his gift basket. The items also took weeks to arrive!
Afro Scrub is a scam. They claim to be Black owned and sell authentic African products but ship cheap items from China. The site is full of fake reviews especially on here just to seem legit and trick you into sharing your card info.They sneak in a fake $29.99 monthly VIP charge and you get nothing in return. Who pays $30 a month for no product in this economy? Nobody. You can find the same items on TEMU with the same shipping for way less. Avoid this site.
I feel this is a scam. I ordered a few item on June 5th. As of June 30th, I have not received my order. I've sent an email close to a dozen emails and have receiec zero replies. On Facebook, the lady is promoting Afroscrub but the boxes she is standing in front state Shea Luxe Essentials. Both sites are same.I ordered from them and still haven't received my order.
I'm not sure if this company's customer service department lack understanding of their promotion(s). I have been going round and round with this business, but I paid for 4(four) sponges individuality so the total number of items should have been 9(nine) items since it was buy two get two free, I only received 5(five) items which one was VIP status which wasn't free I was charged an extra $29.99. I had to dispute the charge just to get them to state they would refund my money, which I haven't received YET. This is a scam. BYER BEWARE!!! There IS NO free PROMOTION!!! Plus the items are coming from somewhere other than Africa. I will dispute this purchase with my financial institution as well.
Update: I now just also got a bogus charge for 29.99 from them for a VIP membership and support service i never signed up for. Definitely disputing this charge and have already written them back but am not hopeful for a response. A complete scam operation BEWARE!I ordered just 2 sponges weeks ago and my order has just sat in a pending status with no updates. I wrote their service line and they said there were manufacturing delays. A shipping. Stick was then generated but it has still sat in unfulfilled status also noting the shipment was going to come from China. The products are advertised as Nigerian made so this is suspicious. I didn't see any recurring charge yet but will be on the lookout for it based on other recent comments.
