ordered a pair of headphones from Argos, but when the delivery arrived, the box was empty and the product was missing.

As a long-standing customer who has spent a significant amount of money with Argos over the years, I expected this to be resolved quickly and fairly. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

Despite paying in full for an item I never received, Argos refused to issue a refund and instead challenged my chargeback with the bank — an oddly confident response given that the box contained nothing.

The handling of this case showed little concern for the customer or any sense of accountability. Sue Riley, you ought to be ashamed of yourself for the way this situation has been dealt with.

Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience, driven by poor judgement and a clear lack of responsibility.

Bought an item from Argos upstairs in the Manchester Arndale today 7/2/2026. I had to buy a plastic bag and they charged me 0.60p. I asked for a receipt and they said that they do not give receipts. I insisted that I wanted a receipt and a young lady said to the guy that I was talking to, just get a receipt out of the bin and give it to him. I objected and after him trying unsuccessfully not to give me a receipt, I got one. I am a, "Black Person." Please can someone tell me if a "White Person would have been treated the same way as I was today? I will never shop with Argos again.

Argos were due to deliver a mattress to me today. Was advised delivery between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. No delivery and been home all day. Received text message to advise delivery would be one hour later (message at 5.33pm). It's now 7.43pm and no mattress delivered. Hopeless live chat with Argos. Transport closed and no update. I feared this would happen when placed the order. Lesson learnt. Never again Argos

No the mechanic's of the purchase were good, I arrived and went to get the item, all good all ready, it was a reasonable distance to my car, I asked the man if there was a trolley, he said no, I am 72 , so the walk was hard to get the trolly carrying the item, there was not very far to the car so on I went on. This is a super store , I thought that the young man should have got me a trolley. That was the only problem.

I bought a football from Argos. When I visited the store and asked staff to put air in the football, they refused.

The customer care staff were not friendly and their behaviour was very rude. I am very disappointed with the service I received.

Placed an order for a washing machine on the 19th January was to be delivered the 23rd the drivers filed it as failed delivery due to "access" but never even knocked at my door is would of been able to assist with route to my back door. Arranged redelivery online chat for the 29th on a small van. After receiving and email for delivery on the 3rd of February (a date id refused as it simply wasnt good enough) so I called customer services on Monday the 26th for her to confirm it would be delivered the 29th on a small van. Today the 29th and no machine!! Called customer services to be told that's its booked for the 3rd February and no sign of a booking for the 29th! Asked for them to listen to the call from the 26th confirming small van delivery but he cant access that apparently. 2 weeks no washing machine with a family with 2 disabled children absolutely disgusting. I WILL NOT be using this company anymore after this!!!!!!

We ordered a sofa in November 2025 and had the delivery scheduled for the 24th of January 2026 (11am to 1pm). We arranged for our old sofa to be collected and moved out beforehand, and received a message from Argos the night before the scheduled delivery date confirming the delivery and slot timing.

When the 24th came, we waited for the delivery and received no communication or updates until 4pm when we received a message saying that they had been trying to contact us, which they hadn't. When I rang them they asked me "why I was calling them", despite them asking me to in an earlier message. I was then told that the reason why the delivery never occurred on that date was due to a staffing issue. They then told me the earliest they could deliver was 3 weeks later on the 16th February 2026.

I communicated to customer service that my wife was heavily pregnant and not having a sofa at this time was very worrying. He said to ring back in 24 hours. I rang back customer service 24 hours later and said that given it was 3 months since the original order and the fact they promised delivery that they should find a way to deliver earlier than 3 weeks from the original date.

The customer service agent hung up on me without solving anything.

We are still expecting a baby any minute and Argos are still refusing to arrange a sooner delivery despite it now being 4 months after we placed the order and them missing the delivery date because of their own fault

Frustrating Experience with In-Store Collection

I ordered an item for in-store collection and was informed it would take nearly a week to be ready. When I placed the order, it indicated a 1-day wait! However, I could cancel and reorder to pick it up today from the same location. What is happening with the service? Very disappointing. Edit: After waiting for 3 days, I chose to cancel and get it from a nearby store where it was available immediately.

Disappointed with Warranty Confusion

Purchased a new washing machine from a retailer in January. I've been paying for cover monthly since then, but received a call recently stating that the manufacturer's warranty has expired. This is puzzling as I didn't receive a receipt at the time of purchase and have no email confirmation. I'm left wondering if I'll be covered if something goes wrong. Previously, I bought a machine for my daughter and paid for insurance upfront, yet I was still charged a similar amount for her machine, which I managed to partially refund after raising the issue. Moving forward, I will make sure to get a receipt for any purchases or at least screenshot any email confirmations, as they tend to disappear over time.
