I purchased a Duracell Ultra battery…

I purchased a Duracell Ultra battery for my truck, part #SL165XM. This battery has a 3-year warranty. I purchased the battery approximately 18 months ago at the Laguna-Elk Grove store. I called and said the battery is dead and will not charge. The man in the store said that the battery must be brought in with a full charge to be tested. I said that won't happen due to the battery will not charge. He said there was nothing he could do and that they lose customers over this. I said you have lost another one. I went to Costco and bought a battery there. Should have done this the first time. Poor service and warranty is useless.

Careful with your iPhone replacement batteries

I took my two iPhones in to have new batteries installed. My phone was showing a maximum capacity on my battery at 86% and my wife's phone was showing a maximum capacity of 90%. So, technically her phone really didn't need a battery change but I figured since I had to drive ½ hour to get there I would have them both change. BIG MISTAKE, BIG MISTAKE.... They changed the battery in my phone without issue but they completely destroyed my wife's phone to the point I had to take it to the Apple Store. The techs at the Apple Store put it on their diagnostics machine and there was absolutely nothing they could do for me. The phone was ruined. I had to buy a new iPhone. When I contacted Batteries Plus they said; it may or may not be their problem and they would have to send it out to their headquarters for review. The guy at Batteries Plus tried to tell me their technicians are better trained than the people at Apple. Long story longer, I will never use these guys again. Probably OK for just buying batteries but as for doing repairs/battery replacements I would look elsewhere.

DEFECTIVE UV SANITIZER

I bought a UV Sanitizer at the Batteries & Bulbs store in Brandon, Florida on a Sunday and returned it the next Saturday. The cord to plug into the machine was defective and broke off when I plugged it in. I returned the item to the store and the young man said he would have to call his manager. He did and then told me he couldn't take the product back because it was not able to be sold because the cord was broken. WHAT!!! Of course it is not sell-able - it was defective! The product should have been returned, customer reimbursed and the product returned to the manufacture. Terrible customer service and I'm out $34.99 + tax. I spent over $100 on batteries but I will buy batteries somewhere else not.

DO NOT HAVE AUTO KEY FOB BATTERY REPLACEMENT AT BATTERY PLUS STORE

I've done business with Battery Plus for many years. And a few days ago, I went there to have two batteries replaced in two auto key fobs. They gave me two different quotes. One @ $13 ea for one time replacement, & one @ $26 ea for lifetime replacement. These batteries are dirt cheap in cost. Some as low as 5/$6. Please don't buy from Battery Plus. He said that the batteries are cheap, but most people don't know how to open the key fob. Well, it's very simple to open the fob. And only takes 30 seconds to change the battery. You can YouTube (how to change auto key fob battery, to learn just how to change the batteries. DO NOT GO GET RIPPED OFF @ Battery Plus, PLEASE.

Good Battery, poor warranty

I bought a battery 4 years ago for my Samsung Note 4. The warranty right on the box said Lifetime Warranty. The battery worked well for about 2 years. Then it started to lose life. I kept nursing it along for 2 more years but now it will only hold a very little charge. I took it in and they said the warranty is really only like 6 months. I paid double at Batteries Plus to get a non existant warranty. So the battery was good but the "Lifetime Warranty" is a scam.

Beyond Grateful

Since October 29, 2020, I was unable to use the mobile hotspot feature on my cell phone. I contacted T-Mobile customer service multiple times, I even went to 2 of their stores and they were unable to fix/diagnose the problem. They did however, try selling me another phone! Frustrated, today, I went to the Batteries Plus Bulbs store on 4 Street N, St. Petersburg, FL. I spoke with a young man named Brian who, out of the goodness of his heart, was able to in a minute or two, figure out the problem was the mobile hotspot setting. Plus, he fixed it. OMG. I am beyond grateful. Thank you so very much for your kindness Brian.

CUSTOMER INTERACTION TRAINING

On September 23 about noon I went to the location at 2324 Ronald Reagan Pkwy in Snellville, GA. Batteries + Bulbs customer services if normally great but on this day, I met a rude employee. The lady that I met at the counter informed me about the process to program my key fob and the options I had. I decided to go with my own key fob. She then took my payment and my keys and went outside to my car to program it. After about 10mins she came back to me to inform me that my car battery was dead and they need to jump it. I was perplexed and I informed her that the battery did not have any issues before I got there. If anything was wrong with it, I would have gotten notice on my dashboard. I told her to go ahead and jump it. She tried to explain that sometimes the programming process can drain a battery, while she was speaking another employee jumped on out of nowhere and started saying "oh yes it's dead, the battery is 3 years old, blah, blah" So I asked him what that meant and what does that have to do that I came here with a battery that was fine and now after they touched my car it is dead. I informed him that my car was just fine until I came there. He asked talking and I turned to her and told her to jump the car and finish the job. As I waited I noticed that she jumped the car at least 2 times - she came in twice to pick up the machine to jump the car. After about another 10mins she came in and told me that she was done but I could only use the fob to start the car not to open the door. I thanked her for her service and went to my car. On getting to my car, my car would not even turn over - NOTHING. I tried a couple of time - NOTHING. I walked back into the store and told her that my car is not starting. Mr. Unprofessional jumped in again and stated that the battery was 3 years old and and it says so on it, he can show me. He was flippant and rude. I turned to him and I asked him who he was speaking to? I informed him that I was not speaking to him and I don't care if the battery was 5 years old, the fact still remains that when I came to the store my battery was fine. The Asst. Manager Xavier Reed came out and apologized for the interaction. He explained that he will look at the battery and that sometimes if the battery is almost drained the programming process will kill it. He told me that the employee was not trying to be rude, it is a cultural thing. I told him I understand the cultural aspect BUT when you come to a job you learn the culture of the company. He explained what happened to the battery and gave me the 3 options I had. I finally decided to buy a new battery from him instead of going to Infinti. I will continue to use this store because of Xavier Reed. He DEFINITELY exemplifies the Batteries Plus Bulbs culture I am used to.

Return Policy is a Joke

Service has never been a problem but I do have a problem with their return policy. Written in fine print on the BACK of the reciept. "Refund only allowed up to 14 days from date of purchase." Please write this important piece of information on the FRONT of your receipt. This is an archaic policy, I was back in 3 weeks and not given a refund. I may not need more batteries for a year. This really makes me angry. There is no other store I shop at with this kind of return policy. (Written on the back of the receipt, no less.)
