Absolutely awful experience with Carwiz! I rented a car in perfect condition, returned it the same way, and yet they charged me £620 for scratches that were NOT there when I dropped it off. It’s clear they try to scam customers with bogus damage claims. The staff was rude and completely unhelpful when I tried to dispute it.This company is dishonest, and their customer service is a joke. £620 for nothing—an absolute rip-off! If you value your money and don’t want to be scammed, avoid Carwiz at all costs! I wish I had read the reviews before booking—lesson learned.
This company is an absolute scam! I rented a car for two days through the Ryanair app, but they delivered a completely different vehicle. When I returned the car at the airport, the representative told me he wouldn’t be there and instructed me to leave the key at the information desk.The next day, I received an email claiming the car was damaged, and they charged me £500 from my deposit. I tried contacting them, but no one responded. I requested evidence of the alleged damage, but they failed to provide any.Ryanair should not be working with this dodgy company!
I rented through CarFlexi midsize car with automatic gear for 13 days in Poland, Katowice Airport. The price was so low, that I initially thought it's a scam. But no! Everything was legit and perfect. The car has been delivered by Car Wiz company. Their office is off terminal - you call them and a driver comes immediately to pick you up. The Car Wiz employees are professional and kind, car clean and up to contractual features. There is a BP gas station and an well priced automated car wash on site - 50 m from Car Wiz office - so that there is no problem with returning a full tank and clean car back. The car return was smooth and fast, employee looked at the car around, switched on the engine and that's it. No any attempt to put on you imaginary car paint scratches, as you can sometimes read in the internet. The Car Wiz employee released deposit on my credit card immediately, without ant delay. Now, three days later, I can see this money amount return on my card as "pending". Asked Car Wiz employee how my rent price was SO good for my pocket and he told that "it may depend on the year season and/or low demand" (it was mid-February 2025). So maybe in other time of the year the price could be higher, but I was simply amazed! It was the best car rental ever in my life! Thank you, CarFlexi and Car Wiz ❤️.
The scam is they give you a list of say 28 damages but there are acually more ,they then show or tell you of them PLUS MORE on RETURN,if anyone there ,if not you get the email...Absolute knew he was going hold deposit when i refused his insurance because i had taken out extra insurance with Ryanair.Informing Police and Bank.Had to leave 4000zl deposit as did not take theirs,car dirty with 28 damages noted ,could not even see these through dirt,on return ,counter closed left car ,when in UK next day an expected email telling me there were 2 new scatches 1 on boot ,1 on WHEEL !!!!,FECKIN SCAMMERS!!!, contacting Ryanair to get them removed
Hired a car from wizz car Katowice airport 20th-25th feb awful experience no 1 showed up at the terminal as stated to pick us up, after returning car the rude member of staff said he can’t check the car because it is a little bit dirty? Never had this before the times I’ve hired cars. Only today the 14th march I’ve found out that the deposit they took 1070.84 will not be taken of my credit card due to damages that were already on the car. Seems to me wizz car at Katowice are building a reputation for this reading all other reviews some bloke made a review on 1st march Toyota Corolla most likely the exact same car I had. These cow boys need shutting down asap
I hate giving them one star but I have no choice. What a horrible scam company. I didn’t have a credit card on me for the deposit so I used my debit card. I was told because it’s a debit card they would have to take the amount but that it would be returned once the car was returned. That’s was last November and it’s now February but they won’t return my money. They keep telling me the amount was unblocked. It was never blocked because I didn’t use a credit card, they took the amount because I used a debit card. I am so angry with this company. I even forwarded an email from their customer care stating they were trying to return the money…. But now they are back to saying it’s unblocked and ignoring emails. I’m actually losing my mind with this company. Please stay away from them. Following on from the reply below…I managed to contact the teller at the airport and thankfully he understood and agreed that they cannot put the deposit on hold using a debit card and that they would have taken the amount. He said someone had marked it wrong on their system and he sent me a picture of the receipt from the card terminal showing he has refunded the money. All I can do now is wait. I have also been talking to my bank who have assured me the money was taken from my account, it was never on hold ( because it’s a debit card ) and never returned. My bank gave me an approval code that proves a transaction occurred which I have also sent carwiz. Also my bank have assured me, if the money is not returned in 10 days they will proceed with a charge back to retrieve my money. It just shows even their reply is absolute nonsense full of miss information. They did send me confirmation of being unblocked but as you can see, I have spent months trying to explain that the deposit was never on hold because it was a debit card, my bank confirmed this, I confirmed this and the teller at the airport confirmed this. Just look at all the reviews complaining about money issues with this company. It’s a pity because the car and the rental process was 100%. What followed was absolutely disgusting. I still have not received an apology after proving carwiz was at fault. Sorry for the long review but I hope it makes sense and helps someone avoid this frustration in the future.
