Review Time
The window installation was promised in one day (by more than one person) and it took more than two weeks. Contractor was two hours+ late on multiple occasions. I had to call the project rep to get an update at one point. The contractor was on multiple projects at once and needed more than 3 people total for this particular job. The whole driveway was shining because of glass fragments after the job was done. However, the contractor installed the windows correctly. Champion still hasn’t called me to see if I like my windows. For as expensive as these are, I would have at least liked a follow-up call. I need 11 more windows done, and I’m not likely to go through them again.
Gave champion 12,000 down payment on a sun room in oct. 8 to 10 weeks to start. Sent a letter Dec. Saying they haven't any supplies. Now its a total of four months. If I get through to someone they promise some one will call. The showroom locked can't talk to no one. Just be courteous and keep us informed. If you can't do job refund our money
This is the second time we have used Champion for our window replacements. We replaced all of our windows in our first home. Our power bill dropped a lot from what is normal was. We recently moved into a new house but the windows there were originals to the home ( which was built in 2000). The house is so cold, my daughter's room was the worst. We had champion come out and replace 8 of our 20 windows, and her room is the first one on the list. They came out yesterday (2/8/2021) and replaced all 8 windows in less than 8hrs. We only had a small problem with one of the windows not staying up when we raised it open. My husband made a call to our sales rep and he came out the next day( because it was around 6:30 when he called the night before) and fixed it no problem. I can say that if you are looking for the best windows for the right price, look no farther CHAMPION WINDOWS is your company.
Ordered room and siding June of 2020 and was told that my ordered would be complete by the end of August 2020. It is February 2021 and the only thing that has been done is the slab for the room. I wouldn't use this company if it was the only one on earth.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM! Buyer beware. Absolutely the worst. Terrible customer service, communication or follow through. We have been waiting since September (it's now February -- [EDIT (3/1/21) and now it's March) and still waiting for; well, any sort of response) for our two doors and they still refuse to give us a time frame. Each time we reach out we are told different things by different people and they each say "oh, we didn't know they said that, I'll check". And yet, the next time we reach out we are once again given the run around. We have plans to replace all the windows in our house and we will most certainly be using a different, more reliable company.EDIT: Before leaving my original review we had already tried reaching out to the national customer care office and have been waiting for their response. They are part of the problem, not the solution.
We have had a lot of work done by Champion, vinyl trim whole house. Installers were so bad they broke a glass table outside never told us, put vinyl trim along roof line 3" higher then the shingles that made the shingles bend up and looked really bad. Champion people had to do the trim allover again. Then we had 3 outer doors put in and the installers cracked the inside trim and just put it back up and filled the nail holes with white wood putty, looked like shotgun holes on the trim. Champion installers had to put all new trim on. Then after a few years the red colored doors started to fade. Went to the Champion store and told them about it and they sent someone to look at them and that they would review it. After several months of calls and visits to there store to talk to a live person I was told they would no longer cover the doors due to the faded paint. One of the doors has wood grain on the inside that is now peeling off the door. They offered me touch up paint which i got but it does not match the faded door. Then they offered to sell me a new door. I just looked at her and said "You got to be kidding", I would never buy another product from Champion and would never recommend Champion to any one ever again. So to anyone looking to buy and have installed any colored entrance door made by Champion, BEWARE that the paint will fade in time and Champion will not stand behind there product.
We contracted with Champion windows in June 2020 to replace 14 windows to improve the value of our home as we are senior adults and will have to sell our home soon to move with family. The salesman said they would replace all windows very professionally and you wouldn’t even know the installers were here at the end of the day. Everything would be cleaned and in order and you would have beautiful windows and they would be greatly energy efficient. These are lies. All lies.They installed our windows July 30, 2020 and it was a disaster! Metal and Heavy plastic flying In all directions! The installers were pounding and pounding at the frames to get the old windows out! We panicked as these things were flying and scraping furniture. My husband only has one eye so I grabbed him and hid him in a room. They did not care about any of our home furnishings. Laying hammers and blinds on any table in sight even the dining room table! I think they thought they were in a new construction sight not our home. They pulled a blind down and dropped it on the hardwood floor but as it fell it ripped my dining room draperies and sheers. The installers never took any draperies or window valances off first or moved any furniture before or during the window installation. We had to move the furniture if we wanted it saved from damage. They took out the old windows and installed new ones with all window trimmings on. 8 of the new replacement windows were damaged or defective and had to be replaced. By November they had replaced all defective windows and fixed the ones that didn’t work. In November when we scheduled the painter to paint the interior of our home, he took down all the window treatments in order to paint professionally. By his amazement and ours, he found that all 14 windows were installed very shoddily and all windows had popped away from walls. Some even an inch!! This is unbelievable!! All the windows don’t even fit!! For $14,000??? And they weren’t even going to tell us or fix them!!!!We let Champion Windows know this first part of November. Since then, I have called numerous times, I have written emails upon emails, I have placed 3 service requests on line and have sent them pictures. They sent someone out on December 23, 2020 to inspect and said they would call us in a week. Still no one has come out to repair the damage. They scheduled a date for service and no one showed up on 2/3/21. It is now February 3, 2021 and our windows are still popped out from the wall, our furnace runs continuously as the cold air comes in around popped out windows, (when I open the blinds the temperature in the house goes from 77 down to 72 within 15 minutes), No caulking under windows, no window treatments are on the windows, valances are sitting in the sunroom, painter is waiting to have champion come out so he can finish the paint job. And they still haven’t come out to even start the repair. Never use them. Their Salesman tells you anything to get the job. no communication throughout the whole job as to what to expect and what we needed to prepare. No Communication from service department when you need repair. Not a professional company at all. Obviously they don’t want to help the customer. Looks like they use senior adults to just get their Money. Plus they promised us reimbursement for the broken blind, the paint we had to buy to patch and paint the holes they put in our walls that we had to fix, the dining room draperies and sheers but we have not received a penny from them. We contracted for $12,000 plus $2,000 of interest. What have they given us? Stress, headaches and high heating bills because windows are not energy efficient. Only get them if you want to throw your money away in exchange for a very stressful, disastrous project that may last 9 months to a whole year. Or maybe longer??
This has been the worst experience ever. I have practically been given a run around spoke a rep to start this process in late November/ early Dec. After several calls to champion windows inquiring what was the hold up on the installation a rep called the first week in January to tell me an email was sent on 12/15/21..... but no one had called to “communicate” this to me. I called and left messages for Nick Scalara the National Customer Care but he was out of the office. So I called back several more times and keep leaving messages. So then I ask to speak with the CEO T. Dixon....the rep was so rude & while I was still talking he transferred my call to Nick’s voicemail again. Of course when he returns my call he explains he was out on vacation from Jan1-11th, 2021 and informed me he covers over 80 stores & he was behind on messages and he would find what was going. I have failed to hear from him in the past 72 hrs. This is not professional behavior at all running a business. TODD DIXON beware of how business is being conducted in the Memphis area. When I informed Nick window panes were broken and I am waiting for the windows installation and please provide a date, Any would think they would show some customer concern & make it PRIORITY..... NATIONAL CUSTOMER CARE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR.CUSTOMERS & they DONT COMMUNICATE WITH THE CUSTOMER IN A TIMELY MANNER!!!
