Wow! What an experience! Me and my wife moved into our first new home and this went very smoothly and the experience was made extra special with the assistance of Matthew and Theodore! These site managers have assisted and every way possible and have gone above and beyond their duties to ensure our home is perfect for me and my family! Cant thank you guys enough! Top lads!
Return customer care visit to attend to a few minor settlement issues with doors and service hatch by Charles Church own team. The issues were resolved in a timely and professional manner by Amelia Bratchley, Alan Foreman and Bob Mathews no quibble and a great job, thank you.
Do not buy any extras.Purchase the house and arrange everything yourself.This so-called “premium builder” considers it acceptable to lay flooring directly over stones — stones that can clearly be felt when walking around a brand-new home. With two children under the age of three, this is completely unacceptable.The “high-quality” LVT flooring also began bubbling almost immediately after we moved in and required repairs by day two.In the past four weeks alone, our flooring has been lifted and inspected four times, during which nine stones have been discovered beneath it. This demonstrates a complete lack of care and basic workmanship.Throughout this period, we have repeatedly and clearly raised our concerns with both the site team and customer care. The response has been the same every time: “It’s been escalated” — followed by silence. The apparent strategy is to ignore the issue and hope it goes away.After spending over £15,000 on extras from a builder that markets itself as premium, we expected premium quality and service. What we have experienced falls well short of that standard.We have given Persimmon more than enough time to provide a solution and clear answers. However, we have now been waiting over eight days for a response from customer care and have received nothing.I genuinely hope that when my survey is issued, it is strong enough to remove a star from this so-called “5-star builder”, so that other buyers are not misled by false and misleading marketing.
I reserved a property at West Park Gardens and was looked after by a sales executive named Jodie Hewitson. Jodie was extremely welcoming and made the process of reserving my home feel straightforward and stress-free from start to finish.Nothing was ever too much trouble for her — she was always happy to answer my questions, no matter how small, and explained everything clearly so I felt confident in every step of the process. Jodie’s friendly manner and attention to detail really stood out, and it made what can often be a daunting process feel exciting instead.I would highly recommend Charles Church, especially if you have the pleasure of dealing with Jodie at West Park Gardens. Thank you for making the start of my new home journey such a positive one!
I have only just started my journey buying a home through Charles Church.Caroline Jarvis was amazing but unfortunately for me, she moved from Forest View - anyone that has the pleasure of dealing with her now - you are very lucky. I did think being a new build that I would be able to make some changes to the kitchen (putting power to the island) but have been told they do not install power to the island, so as lovely as the house will be I'm sure, it will not be my 5 star home.
Imagine the scene.Young family, hard working, baby on the way; the elation and excitement of reserving a brand new executive home by Charles Church. Sounds amazing doesn't it, let's go further, and I will only speak facts and absolutes, these are all backed up by photographic evidence.If you are planning on buying a "Executive" Charles Church Home, here's some information to allow you to make an informed decision before you are miss-sold on the quality you will receive.Now enter reality.Day 2 water through the ceiling. Kitchen hob not wired in. Drains overflowing and backing up inside and out.Gloss work that "yellowed" after a couple of months.Paint work that is patchy, inconsistent and horrificly finished.(Don't worry though, this is homeowner maintenance 🙃)Expect settling they said, don't worry though we will help.Except my kitchen come diner ceiling has a 100% failure rate of cracking along joint lines. Don't worry though, this is just movement and settling.Our ensuite shower cubicle has gone mouldy along the silicone and grout line. Don't worry though, CC only want to do the bare minimum. They don't want to inspect the cause or the damage behind - (they asked if the could do it from the room behind, I said take a tile off and check that way, they refused, knowing the result would show damage that is irrefutable. Don't worry though, we are a 5 star house builder 🫠 yeah okay? Did you pay for that accolade? Because it isn't what we have experienced.There are a lot more defects, too many to fit in to this review, but you get the picture or as CC say (Don't worry....).At first you will want to nurture your relationship with CC and their customer care team, thinking they are on your side and want the best for you.Then you will become frustrated that nothing gets rectified or is dragged out or not dealt with properly.At the next stage you will start formalising your issues, concerns and complaints via email, these will be fair, reflective of the situation, but detailed and lengthy: the response will be short, short on how you expect your issues to be dealt with and meeting the absolute bare minimum.Now, you are here, like me, like others - leaving a negative review because you have now come to terms with the fact that the only way your house is going to feel like a home is if you have to sort it yourself and at your own expense. And now your distressed, depressed and wishing you never even bought the property in the first place.Do I feel like we've been miss-sold on quality? Yes!Go look at the show home, that's what they use to say "Hey, check us out, go have a look for yourself at what you are buying.", then compare that to what you've bought and the stark reality hits, it's nothing like that, it's thrown together and your left in a doom loop of communication getting nowhere.
