Our insurance agent suggested to use…

Our insurance agent suggested to use Close Brothers for monthly payments, this was a big mistake, I should have just paid in full. We now changed banks but Close Brothers are making it extremely difficult to move accounts, we think we have solved it and then the problem starts again. How can it take three months to change a simple bank account to make payments on time. I would suggest never using this company, pay in full to avoid them.

Hung up on multiple times

I called 3 times this afternoon to try and resolve an accounting issue, and the call was ended / cut off all 3 times. I’ll admit it was close to your phone lines closing. But, please don’t let it get to the point of take my account details, letting me you give half my issue, for you then to terminate the call. Having worked for a call centre, in the past I know the frustration of a call a minute or 2 before lines close, but take a call…deal with it.

Useless!!!

Wrote a review on here on 23/08 about my experience with CB and recieved a reply to say I should send an email confirming my agreement details which I did and am still yet to receive a reply!!!Just shows what I said in my previous review, this company is absolutely useless when it comes to communication!!! I am still waiting nearly 2 months on for compensation in regards to a closed complaint!!!

My experience with Close Brothers was a happy one indeed because I did not have to wait long to have my finance application accepted. I was also so happy that they gave me a fixed affordable low cost monthly payment with a low apr. Thankyou

Absolutely shocking

Absolutely shocking. I have been paying off my bike for over a year now, every payment has been on time never missed it by even a day. Last month I had some unexpected financial issues and my payment didn’t go through. Instead of calling me up and asking me why it hasn’t gone through and offering to support me. I got an automated text telling me the payment had failed and that I had been charged an extra £40 late fee. So I call up and speak the man on the phone very politely and explain my situation and instead of showing even an ounce of sympathy or understanding, he just scolded me about how I need to pay on time and that if I don’t pay I will get more late fees. I’m not tryna be a Karen, but seriously suggest anyone considering going with close brother finance to reconsider. Absolutely terrible.

Read before signing your documents

The process was quick and easy, HOWEVER....When i started the finance it was agreed at 11.9%, upon reading and ready to sign,i noticed with no warning or communication, it had jumped to 15.9% after already having completed a hard search on my credit file. Having phoned to ask why they said i was "sort of " high risk even with a Perfect credit score and agreed to reduce the rate to 13.9%. Why not do this in the first place or just let me know before searching and affecting my file. If i did not go with CLOSE then a hard search would impact me with other providers.

Awful company with no understanding or compassion

Would give 0 if at all possible. Can’t stand this finance company for my car finance, I would opt out if I had the choice. I’ve been out of work sick for a number of months now. Sometimes my payment is late as I am only on illness benefit and due to cost of living crisis struggle some months to have my finance payment on time. My payment is always made every month, just some months not on time. I have notified close brothers of my circumstances numerous times. I was working great hours and on great money when signing up 3 years ago. I just couldn’t have predicted I would fall ill and be in this position. I am hounded and inundated with calls, emails, texts and letters daily reminding me payment is due within the FIRST day of missing the payment whenever the occasion arises. Obviously payment will be made when I have it. When my payment is late, I am obviously aware it is due. Its a stressful enough situation dealing with being sick and out of work and trying to make the payments on time at the moment. There is absolutely no need for the constant daily phone calls and reminders that payment is due.I have received letters when payment is late saying how if you are struggling to let them know and they will help or accommodate you where possible. Yet although I’ve made them aware of my circumstances, when I answer one of their many reminder calls, I am met with ignorance and rudeness from the agents demanding I must make a payment.

My car finance was dealt with quickly…

My car finance was dealt with quickly and efficiently, and because I wanted to surprise my husband with the car on our anniversary they arranged the delivery cost to be added to my finance so it could be delivered on time. They explained every detail of the finance to me without too much jargon so I knew exactly what I was signing up to
