I went to the restaurant for dinner on New Year's Eve and it was the worst experience I ever had in a restaurant. We had to wait 1.5 hours to be seated and 1.5 hours to be served the first course. The food was of very poor quality. All customers were very upset and some waited more than 2 hours to be served. It took more than 3 hours to have 3 courses. They charged us full price including service charge when they should have compensated us for the most horrible experience. We did not receive a single apology. Do not go to this restaurant or any other in this chain.

Unbeatable new year's eve dinner

Ordered the new year's eve dinner box plus a bottle of champagne. Couldn't recommend highly enough! Well packaged and delivered in an immaculate state - including cooler box. The meal was delicious, generous portions and easy to prepare. We had no particular expectations for the champagne since it was relatively cheap. One of the best I've tried. All in all, 10 out of 10 for the box.

Cote York New Year Eve Dining…

Cote York New Year Eve Dining Experience. They could have earned more stars. For New Year's Eve the Atmosphere was dull with no special event decorations i.e. balloons, table decorations etc....nothing special but the printing on the menu that's New Year menu only served at £49.99 p/p. 4 course meal is misleading as a compulsory "tapas"- like : tiny olives pot to share is not a course. Music (old hits pub music) , where is the french experience ? . Choices of Amazing Dessert, glass of crémant, glass of Muscadet, perfect Sea bream (main), and pumpkin soup (starter)saved the experience; Although duck a l'orange not the best for french restaurant few drops of Grand Marnier would have sealed the "orange" sauce taste rather than red wine sauce taste. Finally, little butter (missing) with french baguettes go well with pumpkin soup. Service was prompt with professional eagle eye staff. Devil is in the detail & few stars were missed for what they could have been a 5* experience for the price tag & the very special occasion with pre-paid deposit reservation only.

Not the Cote we know and love.....

It is such a joy to know that Cote St. Paul's is one of the few restaurants, in the Cote Collection, that is open on Christmas Day. This is the second time we have dined on Christmas day and the last time we did this was 2023, when the experience was superb and very much an occasion. In the interim we have eaten at Cote Restaurants all over the United Kingdom on a very regular basis. Cote St. Pauls is conveniently close to our place of work and home. It has been the venue for numerous special occasions over many years and every aspect of this restaurant has been outstanding.Within five minutes of entering Cote St. Paul's on 25/12/24 we realised that the establishment was under new management and our waiter confirmed this. The atmosphere and ambience felt very different and the usual 'style' of Cote was not present. The quality of food - all dishes - was universally poor and strikingly so. This has never been the case with Cote before. The staff remain welcoming but, sadly, they won't be welcoming us again. We feel that we have lost an old friend....

Nice setting, great food, shame about the baguette

Really enjoyed my meal here (Newcastle) three of us and we all ate different starters and different mains - all tasty. Gourmand coffees were just enough of a desert to round off the meal. I would have given 5 stars if the baguette had been fresh but it was stale and chewy

Not like the old Côte Brasserie ...

My wife and I have been going to Côte restaurants for years, maybe 12 years or more. Whenever we went to the theatre in London we would make a beeline to a Côte Brasserie booked online to have a meal before the show. On this occasion, we went to the Côte in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary. The staff were absolutely fabulous, very friendly, welcoming and efficient! No fault there! What has become clear to me from our last 2 or 3 visits is that the company is no longer providing the quality of food that I fell in love with 12 years ago. The founders of Côte were Richard Caring, Andy Bassadone, Chris Benians and Nick Fiddler in Wimbledon, and they went to great lengths to source the raw materials for their restaurants. Sadly things have changed. Since Covid (2020 and 2021) and the takeover by an investment company (Partners Group) the lack of attention to detail has led to a noticeable decline in the food. For the £120 bill (2 mains, 2 desserts and a £32 bottle of wine) it was average, My wife and I no longer regard Côte as our 'go-to' restaurant. The staff are the one thing that remains excellent!

Took my staff to the Wokingham Cote for…

Took my staff to the Wokingham Cote for a Christmas meal. One of the worst meals I have ever had along with terrible service. 45 minutes from sitting down before our starters even arrived and we'd pre-ordered! Food was bland and cold. As for the vegetarian butternut squash tart, this looked like something the cat threw up and was completely inedible.I can't believe people actually go here to eat. I for one certainly won't again! There should be the ability to have negative stars! They replied to another review with their stock response so I contacted them as requested but absolutely nothing came of it. Seriously, don't waste your money there.

I went there once and received nothing…

I went there once and received nothing but disappointements. I’d even received a poor quality of service from a manager- even when I specifically asked for no ice in my drink, I was met with a tower of ice and a dribble of juice. It was a poor experience for myself and I’m sure many would agree, Do better.
