We had dinner at Cote, Soho on 12 December. I asked for my food to be hot, as I had experience of being served cold food a few times at the Brighton restaurant. Despite my request, the dauphinoise potatoes were a stone cold tiny portion of dried stodge, and the rest of my meal was luke warm. I sent it back, and a fresh meal was prepared, which was hot, and the dauphinoise was fresh. Why my first meal wasn't I have no idea, and there was no apology. My 3 friends were halfway through their meals when I received my fresh meal, and I was left eating on my own. In addition, my friends fish parmentier was served in a dish which was the size of a side dish, and barely covered the bottom of it. Our side order of cauliflower gratin was 4 small florets covered in a tastleless, dry crumb, and by the time I received my replacement meal, the side dishes were cold, The desert I ordered wasn't available, and then we were told our 2 hours were up, and they needed the table, despite my having to wait for a fresh meal. Considering the price of the fish dish, and cauliflower gratin, it was a disgrace. Perhaps Cote would like to comment.
We went to Cote Barnes for a lunch Have been in the past and it was good … things have changed for the worse. Service was good and the restaurant itself is comfortable and pleasant The food was very poor , and felt thoroughly “ripped off “as it isn’t cheap. We are leaving cal , so it is a pity that this was such a dire culinary experience Won’t be going back
I booked for family Christmas gathering on Sunday for a large group of us at the Wardour Street branch. Quite a few of us decided to order the Sunday roast option and for £54 we expected it to be good. Our order took a very long time and when it arrived the Sunday roast was missing key items listed on the menu. It was only when we complained that the host told us that the kitchen didn't have Yorkshire puddings or the Cauliflower cheese (best parts of a sunday roast) instead we were offered replacement items that didn't really cut it in my opinion. For the price I would have expected to be told about this before we ordered but sadly not and despite the mishap the restaurant didn't even offer to discount the bill. Disappointing really.
visit to cote Reading Oracle for a Christmas get together table of 15 - table wasn't ready when we arrived and had to wait 15 or so mins for them to get previous guests out and get the table ready. waiting staff were very poor kept jumping around the table asking who wanted drinks and couldn't seem to understand simple orders, food was pretty awful, the portion sizes were minimal, quality was also very poor, we appreciate it was a fixed menu for Christmas but that doesn't mean it can be poor quality and small portions, the food arrived at a very slow pace and they seemed to struggle with options despite us putting all the choices on the table in front of each guest. The overall ambience, service and food was very poor more like a motorway service station rather than a Brasserie. I would not recommend this restaurant or visit again.
Visited today 4/12 for lunch and complained to the I believe French Waitress that my chicken was poor overcooked and mushy and chewy which was knocked off bill. Also, the garlic bread came without the Cheese on we’d asked for and my tomatoe juice was full of ice and turned too thick to drink enjoyably so an unfortunate dining experience!
We always feel welcome at Cote Brasserie Horsham, we like the way all the people get on well together and make us customers feel part of a family - and the food is excellent.Served by Bhuwan this morning, his gentle courtesy is unfailing.
Last night I ate with my niece at the Cote in Chiswick, London. The food was all right, but not as good as I remember. Main complaint, however, is the time it all took. Having arrived on time for our booking, we had to wait ten minutes for a table. And although we ordered only a starter and main dish, we were still there two hours later. I used to love the Cote, and hope that this experience was a one-off. If not, the Cote has come down in the world.
