Nothing beats a delicious bowl of French Onion Soup on a rather chilly autumn evening in Cote Reigate….especially, if it’s accompanied with a chilled glass of Sauvignon Blanc and followed by hearty Bourguignon!Had a lovely meal which was enhanced further by service with a smile from ‘Chanice’ our waitress. Nothing was too much for her and that alone would warrant a return.Parking was a slight issue for us but it was a very busy evening and the atmosphere warm & welcoming. Next time I think I’ll try the ‘Moules Marinière’…as the table next to ours were so full of compliments.
Cote Newcastle- Horrific! Shocking service, got our order incorrect and over charged. We ordered the Sirloin Steak main courses we were giving Ribeye steaks (a more expensive meal but not what we asked for). When this was raised we were told we were wrong by the pretentious ‘manager’ and it was Sirloin. It was not the 2 cuts of meat are completely different and easy to tell. Plus the steaks were very fatty. We ordered a but of wine for just over £26 that was reduced from £53 as they were selling off their ‘summer wines’….. we had a offer code from the website for booking a table to get a glass of ‘fizz’ for free…. We were told we could not claim that as we had already purchased a bottle of wine at a cheaper price… this was in the small print on the menu. We sent the meals back and stated we would pay for our starters and wine etc. the bill contained an incorrect proce for our daughters drink AND a service charge! The cheek of it! No apology as the manager never came back to the table. Rubbish restuarant to be fair the age demographic is 60+ so not really for us. Smelt like an old persons flat/ bungalow. Will not be back.. ever! It’s an over priced Cafe.
Went to Cote for some lunch as we’ve never been there before so thought we’d give it a go! Was met by our server Chanice( think that’s how you spell her name), she was very bubbly & couldn’t do enough for us. Kept checking on us throughout our meal. Chanice made our experience more enjoyable, a delightful young lady 😄😄
After a very enjoyable day at Lord's watching the cricket and celebrating my 60th birthday with my son we decided to try Cote Brasserie in Wardour Street before we returned home on the train.Wished we hadn’t bothered. We arrived and ordered. My starter arrived which was barely warm enough. The poached egg was stone cold, as if it had been stored in a fridge. I told the waiter I wasn’t happy with it and he apologised. The mains then came. My son's was ok but mine wasn't what I'd ordered. I was frustrated, first my starter wasn't up to it and now this. I was told they would have to get me a fresh one so i told them not to bother. I went without. They then brought the food after a few minutes but by this time my son had nearly finished his meal so I refused it.The waiter and another colleague who I assume was a manager apologised and told me I would not have to pay for my food. To be honest I wouldn’t have paid anyway because the food was beyond poor. After having such a lovely day it really took the shine off my birthday celebration. I have always been an advocate of Cote and used them on many occasions all over the UK. I won’t visit them again.
I visited Cote Chester on 6th September and had the worst experience. My daughter got burnt toast and my pork belly confit was a few crispy fried pork belly bits with bacon. When I questioned my dish, the manager said ' that's how they serve'. There was no apology . There was nothing 'confit' about the dish.Maybe they get away with passing that dish off as a confit, but unfortunately for them, I am a chef myself so know exactly what I ordered. It is appalling that a restaurant can think that they can pass whatever they like as a dish as if their customers are idiots.
My husband and I used to really like Côte. We decided to have our anniversary dinner there. The portions were tiny, the food barely average and despite spending £100, we left the restaurant hungry! I paid extra to have my chips "triple fried" and what I got was a small cup of regular chips, dry and bland. And lots more. What a decline! Never again.
Visited Cote Teddington 4.9.25 with four friends. Ordered calamari - told it was not served (why then on the menu?) Asked for mushroom sauce - told not available, given peppercorn sauce - with fish? Food served. All 5 meals seriusly overcooked. Thick crust on the fish, chicken dry and rubbery, tenderstem broccoli unable to be cut! . No waitress came to ask us about our food. One was found and our concerns expressed to her. Were told 'I'll tell the chef'. We heard no more. Later, when our plates, still with the offending food, were collected we said, 'This food was not good' to which came the reply, 'I know, my colleague told me. Not once was the word sorry used. We were given free coffees - yes..luke warm! We paid and left.
Went for breakfast, 2 staff on for a Sunday in Bournemouth Durban holiday weekend, although polite, incredibly slow, toast was stone cold, they never came to ask if we wanted sauces, we needed jam for the toast but couldn’t get their attention, they didn’t ask if everything was ok, I ask for coffee that never came, not impressed.
Went to Covent Garden Cotes 23-08-25.Ordered within 5-10 minutes the food was on the table. The chicken was dry sickly flavour with dried up potatoes must have the food standing then reheated.Always used the Cotes in Sevenoaks never a problem.would not recommend or return to this restaurant .
