Review Time
I purchased a $5,000 desktop back in December of 2020, which took several months to arrive, and when I attempted to cancel it, they offered me a warranty extension, which I regretfully accepted on that fateful day. Immediately when I received that computer several months later, I had issues right out of the gate. When I was gaming with friends, the whole computer would just shut down, at random intervals, often leaving my friends and fellow gamers in a lurch, due to my sudden absence. I became known as the "Digital Storm Guy" who would just blink out of existence from a raid in the flash of an eye, or a Dota 2 Match, people joked it was my "ultimate" ability to disappear from the match entirely. I immediately called, and attempted to return the computer, and this is where I went wrong. Digital Storm promised to fix the issue, they told me it was a setting, likely a driver, and it could be fixed remotely, they assured me not to worry, customer care was important to them, and they would fix the issue. I spent an absurd amount of time over the weekends during my days off allowing their technicians to remote into my computer, and tinker. Sometimes the power issue would reside for a week or so, but it would always come back. I sent Digital Storm videos of this anomaly, which showed me clearly playing games, no shenanigans going on, my computer just randomly turning off. They agreed to take it back, and test it, they had it for less than a week, and they reported it had a bad power supply, and it was replaced and working perfectly. Eureka! Or so I thought, the problem occurred almost immediately once again when it arrived at my doorstep. Digital Storm just pre-emptively closes any ticket, so I constantly have to open new tickets on pre-existing problems, which I did in this case. I had technicians remoting into my computer on my days off, tinkering with my PC, utilizing Furmark, 3DMark, Heaven, MSI Afterburn, CCleaner, they had me disconnect the exotic wiring, and connect directly with the OEM wiring, I switched my GPU to a different slot, performed lengthy memory tests, reinstalled windows multiple times, only to have the technician go "Well I can't figure it out." Two weeks later, here's a new technician reaching out to me, and wanting to do the exact same tests, with different programs. When I would beg them to take this infernal machine back, they'd just reassure me it would be resolved, and told me they had to go through this process first. I had mistakenly believed that since I reported this issue immediately when I received my computer, and based off the assurances of the original technician, who I would later discover no longer worked there, that this issue would be resolved, even if it lapsed outside of the warranty. That is not the case. My job unfortunately requires me to respond to emergencies, be they natural disasters like wild fires (Santo Rosa, CA), tornadoes (Joplin, MO), earthquakes (Puerto Rico) or COVID at the time, when called upon, I have to respond. I got wrapped up in a project, and when I returned to pick this back up, Digital Storm informed me that because I hadn't reached back out to them, they considered the original issue was resolved, and this was a "new" issue, outside of the warranty, despite it being the same thing, and providing them with videographic evidence of it clearly being the same thing, and even after I notified them that I would be gone for a while. They take this stance that it's the same thing, but it was fixed, and it's happening again, so they don't have to fix it on their dime, it's a "new" problem now. Two and a half years later, I'm still dealing with this today. I'm going to have to pay Digital Storm out of my pocket to fix a problem that's been present the day I received this computer. Everything they told me, all of their assurances, was completely false, and they'll cycle you through technicians with the understanding that the inevitable march of time is going to take you outside of that warranty period, at which point, they've got you. Watch for them to post falsehoods in their notes that they'll try to use against you at a later date. For instance, they call hours before the agreed upon time, and write that you weren't there, as if it's your fault, when they called hours earlier, despite them referencing the correct time zone. Most people are not confrontational, and Digital Storm banks on that, do not let them fabricate the reality of what's actually occurring, and you need to call them out on it via email, so you have a record. I'd advise you to steer clear. Prominent Youtubers talk up Digital Storm, they have great marketing, but you're lying to yourself if you think you'll get the same treatment as jayztwocents or Nadeshot. That's my two cents. If you go with Digital Storm, I hope you have better luck than I did.
Believe me, It's horrible their customer support is awful it takes eternity to make a purchase , If you are not in US or Canada consider other options , I mean their support is sleeping when it's daytime in most Asian countries, I ordered a laptop and received a mail to tell me that they will confirm the import duties and taxes , as of this day ,I haven't received another mail or even a receipt , I had written 3 mail and even tried calling them at 2 a.m., I think the company has either gone bankrupt
Terrible company completely scammed me of my money and put the CHEAPEST, WORST, parts you can EVER use on a $3,000 gaming pc. So disappointed, not even sure how this company is still running. AVOID at all caust unless you want to pay the highest amount of money for the cheapest pc possible. Not to mention they're customer support is TERRIBLE!!!!
ordered a build and then discovered i needed a new computer soonest and couldnt wait the 3 to 4 week build time on a standard item they advertised with one added hard drive. cancelled 1 day later while it was still in phase one (on backorder without items being pulled) and got a refund with 140 dollar restocking fee
SSD was faulty from the beginning resulting in it completely failing after barely clinging onto life for a while. I had already heard the customer service horror stories by that point so I just opted to buy a new (better) SSD. The fans rattle a bit and I could attempt at finding the problem but it really shouldn't be like this in the first place. It was alright for a first-time buyer, but since then any and all upgrades and repair are going to be done by myself, a lesson I'm glad to have learned not the hardest possible way, but it was still pretty bad.
Its a shame that i have to even select 1 star as a rating. This is the WORST company i have ever had to deal with. I ordered a very high end PC for 3d imaging, and required a 24GB GPU. I selected the Nvida 3090 Founders Edition. The entire build was in excess of $4,000The wheels came off and It started with idiotic shipping arrangements and both Digital Sperm and their finance partner "Bread" blaming each other because the shipment was screwed up... Screwed up and MONTHS LATE (It was digital sperms fault) and Idiot number 1 "Sensitive" Ronald Sustar telling me it was going to cost an additional $750 to reship the PC, because they didn't want me going to FED EX and showing my ID to pick it up. Yes, its all really this stupid. When i finally got it, it didnt work. It wouldnt boot or anything. This is where i realized how bad of a mistake i made. I started searching Digital Sperm reviews. OMG, what an awful company. A review i read that really hit home was that Digital Sperm instructed a customer to remove and send back a suspected faulty part...Then told the customer they voided their warranty because they did it wrong. The $2,000 GPU i special ordered was DEAD... Digital Sperm was insisting i needed to remove it and send it in for Evaluation. This set off a red flag considering what i read from the other user...so i asked them to release me from liability to remove the board. They refused, and stopped responding to messages and emails. They closed the ticket and ignored me for MONTHS.Finally after speaking with a lawyer, and posting bad reviews the replied and insisted i needed to accept a different GPU that Sensitive Ronnie claimed was better. Its Not It a 16gb GPU and they lied. Clown #2 got involved briefly, john swegar, to defend the board sensitive ronnie insisted i accept...and when i told him it wasnt working Clown #2 started ghosting me as well. I told them i wanted what i paid for, and now they are ignoring me again. I asked they simply refund the purchase price of the board i bought, and that drew a short reply for clown #3 Alex who also claimed it to be better (how is 16gb better then 24gb) and when i refused and asked again for a refund he prorated it and offered around $1,400 for a board i paid over $2,000 for that they have yet to provide. They wont provide. Clown #2 even admitted they were stalling to run the warranty out so they dont have to do anything. SAVE YOUR MONEY< DO NOT BUY FROM DIGITAL SPERM.
After waiting almost 2 months for this custom build, the motherboard and cpu fried after less than 3 weeks. Then the customer service/tech assistance hell began. After 2 weeks of back and forth they determined I voided the warranty and they would not fix it unless I paid for the parts and service. I bit the bullet and replaced the motherboard on my own and it works fine now. Lesson learned, if you want something done right, do it yourself. My BEST recommendation is AVOID like hell.
Its really a very bad experience with Digitalstorm. I orderer a high end Aventum X with a 13900KS, watercooled, all extras and with a 4090 and it was about 10k.After DAYS my order got cancelled. No email. No call. NOTHING. Before I ordered I was in contact with John Sweger who answered a couple of questions. I email him again asking whats going on and... NOTHING.So I ordered again. With shipping and everything you can imagine. Order cancelled. Then an email from Lucille Reyes only stating, that they now dont deliver to Europe (Austria), although the shipping and all calculations were calculated within the order. So no shipping worldwide. I emailed again to John and Lucille telling, that if money was the issue for the shipping. I will gladly pay extra and on top of the already calculated shipping costs, even if its 500$ more. And... you can tell? NOTHING. No email, no call - simply nothing from the sales team or anyone. I mean I am willing to buy your most expensive PC and extra and on top shipping and you can not even write me a simple email and a sorry or just anything? Its just a very frustrating and bad experience and I cant imagine having issues having ordered a PC from them and then waiting for a simple reply or feedback in terms of warranty.I am very frustrated with just that no one cared about me or my order at all and I am not even good enough to get a reply back or any answer.Im not sorry to say that the customer experience is terrible and surely the customer is not valued at the company digitalstorm.I would not try this again or would order here and I also will advice that its probably best not to make business with this company as you will get frustrated.
The 4000.00 dollar build seems ok so far. I was supposed to get a digital code for warhammer but they took so long that by the time I received it the code was expired. When I contacted them for a resolution they sent me an email stating that the situation is resolved and promptly closed my ticket and will no longer respond. I gave 2 stars because the build seems ok but I've only had it for a week. Hopefully I don't have to deal with them for any real issues.
