NO SHUTTLE at Norwich Airport - this is dependent on where the 1 person on the desk is when you need it. Was recommended to take a taxi by another company on returning the car - so handed over the key with no vehicle "check". Also booked the smallest car possible but was given a HUGE SUV- take it or leave it.
The guy called Amir at the Bristol air port branch was the rudest person I've met in a long time. To be frank he was a liar, he tried to con another £25 a day for our 10 day hire on top of the near £700 rental agreement just because we were 3/4 of an hour late to pick up the car we had already paid for (despite us ringing him and emailing him to let them know we were running late). An absolute con. Avoid at all costs. We ended up not being given our hire car despite paying for it a second time. We managed after 2 hours of listening to lies to get our money back when he was threatening with us calling the police. Again avoid this liar at all costs.
Having booked with this company many times and also many times through carjet, on this occasion we phoned from the airport for collection 2 of us it was raining only to be told to ring back in 10 ten minutes.. what ?? That said we were then collected by the manager Adam who didnt look happy and absolutely drove so fast and erratic my husband asked him to slow down ,Right time to sort our details out, we had already paid for fully comprehensive insurance with carjet but no Adam Ripped us off for another £180 before we were able to take the car we had booked what we hadn't realised my Husband's credit card had been cancelled although it didn't expire until 2028 but while we was trying to sort ADAM said we had 11 minutes to sort or the car we had booked and payed for would be cancelled meaning pay this £180 extra for insurance , his attitude is one of I couldn't care less, it was 10.15 am we had started our journey at 3am to be given this terrible treatment all round with this guy Adam the only thing this company has got going for it at LEEDS/BRADFORD is a guy called Justin who is absolutely a credit to this company a really lovely guy and is never still, his manner with the customers is one that should be learnt TO Adam ..we certainly WOULDN'T RECOMMEND DRIVALIA with the treatment we encountered has we have to lots of family, friends from Spain and in the UK whom we have normally directed them to Drivalia ... Terrible Treatment and Ripped Off .
To be honest, I wouldn’t go near this company ever again couple of things that I didn’t read in the small print which I don’t read all of it so I ended up paying 150 pounds xtra to protect the car. We all know these companies try and get as much money out of your as possible, but my biggest point with this company is After coming home and their scan machine not working at the drop off point they seem to have found a dent in the door that was impossible to have been made by us , the shuttle bus driver actually told us this Phil is new and absolutely uselessI , but this could’ve been happening to somebody who hadn’t took out extra protection and then made to pay the money my point is There was no way we dented a car and suddenly in an email we get a picture of a dent like I say somebody may get charged at some point if they don’t take the extra protection, it all seems a bit dodgy to me not impressed with this company at all anyway.
WORST CAR HIRE EXPERIENCE WITH DRIVALIA, booked through booking.com. If you're an hour late they cancel your booking, even if you have informed them and you have to upgrade or pay extra insurance at double the price. Complaints are fobbed off with lies and inaccuracies. Car wasn't clean, customer service non-existent, verging on rude. As for your offer of review and comprehensive explanation I have had several. First you said i had to upgrade because i didn't contact you about being late but i was able to prove I did. Then it was because my credit card (which had £6500 credit) was declined (apparently for a wrong pin) no offer to try the pin again or use another credit card, no reason or proof of the card being declined and I wasn't offered the chance to try another credit card, then you said its was maybe because I was travelling abroad and hadn't informed my bank, even though I was born in the UK and travelling in the UK. The fact is I had to pay double for 3 days hire than i was quoted for 4 days hire.
