I have been with Empower for 2 years, I didn’t expect to be with them for so long but the structure and guidance worked so well for what I was looking for. I wasn’t new to weight training before starting I’d had both in person trainers from very expensive gyms and also used fitness apps in the past. I’d never been able to achieve results without in person guidance but knew I needed this to change as financially and realistically that isn’t sustainable. I thought empower would be a good balance where I’d be in the gym alone getting it done but also be able to message and contact someone to check in with my progress and curate a bespoke programme for my needs. I made great progress in the first year and embraced a new way of eating and still got results. My mentality has been altered around food for good, it’s a slow process but with the help of empower I have been able to make changes with a support system in place. Writing this now I’m actually wondering why I’m actually leaving, but I do think it’s good to change things up and after two years my training habits and needs have changed and I want to try and be independent in my fitness goals. Empower have supported my choice to leave and even helped me form a programme to continue with. I’m forever grateful xx
The benefit is that empower has made me see red flags easier! I started as part of one of their promotions, which are just marketing gimmicks as you get the same “coaching” as everyone else. For over £120 per month you get a generic workout plan, which I’ve no doubt they don’t personalise and just push out to everyone. Then a meal plan which is basically the recipes you can get on the Instagram for free, but put through the app to meet your calorie goal to get an ingredients list that barely makes sense; 1/2 an egg, 1 1/3 slices of toast etc. The amount of food waste you create if you follow it accurately! I once got told off for doing my check in too late - I did mine at 10am and got the response that they wouldn’t be looking at it because they were off the clock at 4:30pm. Not sure what my coach was doing all day but it certainly wasn’t working! You do a check in and get a generic response in return, my coach remembered nothing about my individual situation or why I was doing the coaching, I got similar responses every week (that are probably a template they just fill in) and hardly any support or help. The 1:1 coaching they push is this single message every week. I don’t know how much work these girls are doing as their Instagram stories seem to have them swanning off getting brunch every day, and not much actual coaching happening! Got my calories lowered 3 weeks in a row “just to make sure it’s working” not that I’m convinced you can know after a week that anything is working, it had only been a week! Which also makes me think they don’t even look at the previous weeks message when they send the updated one, they just send something generic, whack the meals through the generator again and close you off for another week! Not to mention the app is a template that a lot of other coaches also use; so when they talk about improving the app and the user experience it’s not even empower doing it, it’s the company that produces the app template! I just felt like I’ve had more help from generic Instagram accounts than I have these girls - it might work for some people but you have to be affluent (like the coaches are) and prepared to spend a lot of money on biscoff.
I have been with Empower for 1.5 years now and cannot recommend it enough!! I started with very specific aesthetic goals but I’ve learned with Empower that it is not just about how we look on the outside, but also how we feel on the inside. My relationship with food and myself was so distorted, my body dismorphia was at its worst and in working with Emma and Lucy at Empower, I have finally been able to start to heal and create healthy habits. It is a work in progress but I am so grateful for having found Empower and know I would not be where I am without them. I am so excited to keep progressing with them and see how I continue to improve!
I would say it’s actively bad advice and very little guidance. Calories put very low, not personalised, not 1:1 and very generic. Don’t waste your money. I have done other ones and this was by far the worst and it made me feel very unsupported. This is a money making operation, not to help people.
Amazing feedback which is prompt and encouraging. The meal planning makes you realise that u don’t need to eat loads of food to feel full and there are loads of healthy alternatives and ways to achieve that with Empower!Coaching and training plan is fab! Definitely taught me so much more about how to look after my body! I will be sticking with this for a long time! Thanks Empower xxx you guys rock
I was with Empower for a full year and it changed my relationship with food and my understanding of exercise. I no longer binge eat, purge or restrict. I enjoy foods I love and understand how to choose foods that support what my body needs without sacrificing my happiness. Emma is a true champ. She stuck with me even when I was ready to quit after going through some personal things. If you’re looking for a solid support on your food or fitness journey, Emma and her team are the best!
I never write reviews but looking at these false positive reviews, I felt I had to! First, the majority of the 5 start reviews are all accounts that have said similar things about other coaching courses, feels like a big scam, paid reviews. I was lucky enough not to sign up for this course and not get scammed!!! Thanks to the honest 1 star reviews here, I asked the sales person : ARE these personalized? She said yes.My next question was: 1-1 session is mentioned, how’s that going to work?It turned out, they will just give you subscription to an app which you can find on any other platform much cheaper. No zoom video calls, no direct contact! Can someone please explain to these scammers that 1-1 and personalised means they actually have to work with the clients individually?
I have just finished my plan with Empower (total of 9 months) and I am so happy that I decided to go ahead with it, it's the best thing I've ever done. When I started in October 2022, I was so sad when I took my before pictures as I hated how I looked and felt in clothes. Fast forward 9 months and I'm so grateful for that feeling as it pushed me to achieve the results! Naomi was amazing and was there with me every step of the way, on the good, and bad days. I always hoped that I would get good results but I am beyond pleased with the results I achieved with Empower. The training plans are fantastic as well as easy to follow and not to mention the food 😍. Who knew you could have biscoff and chocolate every day and still lose fat. The meals are easy to make, and taste amazing! The fakeaways are so good aswell, the 5 guys burger is definitely one of my favourites!! If you're thinking of signing up DO IT!! It will be the best thing you ever do, I am sad that my plan has ended (my choice) but I can't wait to take everything I have learned and carry on progressing on my own. Thank you so much to Naomi and the Empower Team, you're brilliant!
Absolute waste of money. States 'one to one online coaching' with Emma which I naively thought to mean one to one zoom coaching, practical, motivating and personable advice. You pay £75 and get access to an app which has a meal and workout plan you can get in 5 seconds from Google. App is hard work and when i tried to input the workouts during my gym session I found it wasnt easy to use and distracted me from working out. Standardised and terse messages over WhatsApp. I saw no effort whatsoever from Emma. Stated in welcome pack 'tailored supplement pack' 'access to group chat....' where is this?? 1/10 for effort. Just a load of fancy marketing to no doubt get as many clients as possible with minimal input. You'd be better off with two in person PT sessions for the price. Wish I could get my £75 back but I think highly unlikely!
