Eventbrite had an easy to use system…

Eventbrite had an easy to use system but there was no way of communicating with them personally. No contact was possible with email or telephone. They charged me £80 and my bank thought it was suspicious so blocked my account. This caused me lots of time wasting and telephone calls to try and get the issue resolved. I did not know why Eventbriet was charingm me £80.00 and there was no way of confirming with them what this was for. So I had to cancel my bank card.

Eventbrite is a total waste of time.

I wish I'd seen these reviews before wasting my time with Eventbrite! An entire day wasted trying to get answers to simple questions - NO human support, extremely limited and useless structure, impossible to find your way around. Just rubbish, absolute rubbish.

Congratulations, Eventbrite! Another one star review to add to your growing collection.

My wife and I attend a lot of smaller - venue Rock gigs. We always buy e-tickets online from whichever third party ticket seller the venue nominates, and usually pay via PayPal. We have never had any issue with this.... Until we had the misfortune to use Eventbrite for the first time. I purchased two tickets for a gig at a total cost of £35.26 including booking fees. Some 5 days, later I noticed my bank balance was lower than expected. Upon checking, I found that Eventbrite had charged me £35.26 at 10.01 and £35.26 at 10.21 on the same day, both via PayPal. Incidentally, only two tickets were sent to me via email (which is correct.) I attempted to get an answer on how to get a refund for the second charge through Eventbrite's deliberately confusing FAQs, only to be advised not to worry if I see two charges on my bank statement, that it doesn't mean I've been charged twice, it supposedly means the first attempt was declined. Well, this was not the case. My PayPal account definitely shows two charges, 20 minutes apart, and my bank account definitely shows two debits of £35.26 each to Eventbrite via PayPal. I contacted Eventbrite's customer service department, who responded quickly saying they would investigate, and asked me to provide screenshots of the booking, my bank statement, my PayPal statement, details of the venue, details of the artist, date, time, website, etc etc etc. all of which I immediately sent. I have heard absolutely nothing since. I am now going to have to try and get my refund through PayPal. The thing I'm really worried about if I do go through PayPal, though, is if Eventbrite cancels our e-tickets, without our knowledge. We have booked a hotel for the night of the gig, and have to travel a good distance to attend. If we get to the venue and can't get in, we stand to lose a lot of money. Our advice to anyone who chooses to buy tickets through Eventbrite is DON'T DO IT! Take a look at all the bad reviews on this site and steer well clear.

Failed to process refunds for cancelled events

I haven't had the greatest experience with EventBrite in the past (double charges, failed ticket delivery) but often the only option for events... but for a recent event that was cancelled they mucked us about (we received notification that refunds would be given for the event, but then both the event organiser and EventBrite went silent, and a paypal dispute was dismissed as apparently a cancelled event was still considered as the service being delivered!). I certainly would work hard to avoid booking via them again - there's no responses to complaints bar automated replies - I appreciate they don't manage the events themselves but they lack even the professionalism to feedback on the same.

Covid-19 and no refund

I booked for the Hans Zimmer Vs John Williams concert with the London Film Orchestra via Eventbrite on 2 February at Nottingham. This was for a special 40th birthday present, however both myself and partner caught Covid-19 the week prior and we were both ill. Despite asking for a refund as soon as we found out or request some form of credit to rebook again at a later date they would not refund the tickets and said it did not fit their criteria, the only alternative was to sell the tickets to someone else. Please be aware that they do not refund for anything other than the potential cancellation of the concert. This apparently is listed in small grey text on a white background at the bottom of the event details. Luckily me and partner recovered just in time to go see the concert. The concert was amazing but I won't be booking this again.
