This company is the worst property management company I have ever dealt with. Our shower stopped working giving us NO WAY TO SHOWER, even their own rep over the over said it was considered a "Habitable" emergency and yet after 3 days of putting in requests and phone calls, we got NOTHING. We called the EMERGENCY number and were told the person is off till Monday.. uh excuse me?? The emergency Maintenace person is off and there is no back up?? If the heat went out in the dead of winter or the house is burning down, I have to wait till Monday to get an EMERGENCY Maintenace person out here? Absolutely ridiculous. This is the 3rd property management company we have had since living here for just under 2 years, and they are the worst.
If I could give zero stars I would. This company is the most negligent company I have ever worked with. My surprise that they are still in business is an understatement. They play dumb. Pretend like the managers and people who are over the problem you have are not available ever and simply DO NOT CARE about any REAL problems you might have.My family has known of mold in our house for over a month. I have been sick for five months straight with no end. The rest of my family also has been sick and had their body's affected. Thousands of dollars in medical bills. As soon as we got the results back we reached out to them expecting some help or communication about how to rightly go about this. Nope! we have had zero communication. All they have done is make excuses. Blaming the results on possible dirt in our house or our cats... talk about being incompetent. They have sent cleaners to vacuum and wipe up our kitchen counters. Do they know that's not how you get rid of mold? I had to quit my job because of the mold. And I've had to quit a second job because I can no longer stay at that house. We have been homeless for over a month yet every time we call we get hung up on or told they don't know anything about this problem and can't get anyone on the line that does.I was surprised when I saw that they have over five stars till I started to look at the higher reviews which stated nothing in their comment besides a bunch of phone numbers. Obviously automated. Not a real review.
RUN AS FAR AWAY FROM EVERNEST AS POSSIBLE. Do not rent from them. It is a nightmare. I have verified mold, 87% mold particles in the air. My child began getting sick shortly after we moved into the property and continued to get worse, which led me to do an air quality test. I have since paid for specialists to come out and find where the mold is coming from, because Evernest has not done one thing to find and remediate the issue. I found out the mold is in the HVAC unit, getting pushed out into the home every time the ac or heat turns on. All three specialists I have had come out to the house have said it is not safe to live in. Evernest does not care. The home is not safe and habitable, so I have been displaced without a home for 5 weeks. Evernest does not care. They will not return calls, they do not answer emails. They expect me to keep paying rent on a home I cannot live in, due to their negligence. Evernest is the worst company and do not have any regard for tenants health and safety. Do not be fooled by AI reviews or Evernest employees giving 5 star reviews. Do some research, you will regret renting through them. I do not know how they are still in business. I am in the Atlanta market.
This company is a total nightmare, and if you are a landlord, run like hell. They never onboarded me because they either fired the person or she quit. They told me everything would be good and the person they assigned was worse than having nobody. Still, I was never onboarded. She was rude and completely unresponsive. They promise the world in their sales pitch, then the nightmare begins.Their "marketing" team is a clown show too. They were allegedly getting no traffic and urged me to drop the price. I marketed myself and started to get traffic. I had a potential tenant apply that was rejected and they had no record of it. Now lets get to the really fun part -their outrageous expenses. They will double bill you, completely overbill you with no explanation. I disputed several charges and the team never responded. One example was I needed a refrigerator. They sent me an inflated quote for a fridge that cost like $1200 with no details (make, model, etc) and charged me $95 for the quote. I still to this day have gotten zero response on my disputed charges. They are threatening to send me to collections. All approved work was paid for in advance. This is a criminal empire, do not use them under any circumstances. Zero stars wasn't an option.
After finding at house that was listed at $2250 we put in our application and paid the $65 per person plus $25 to verify our dog (not sure how that is happening but whatever). We were notified that we had been approved but at the end of the email it said, "please note that the price has recently been adjusted". Well after looking it up, they have raised the rent to $2999 now after we have already paid the application fees. They also had 2 other applicants that also paid those fees. I'm so upset about this because we really like this house!UPDATE: We were issued a refund for our application fees!
I have been trying to rent a house at 3550 Pennington rd in shaker heights,Ohio 44120 and a guy name Jesus Espinosa let me do a self showing, then sent me a application to apply with a $65 fee. I applied but it said I need 3 co-signers when I’m using a voucher just for him to say I don’t need a co-signer and approved me for the unit. I was excited thinking I got a house just for him to say unfortunately we went with a different S8 voucher holder but they are still showing this unit to people and letting everyone apply. When I contacted him and said is the unit available he said yes now he back tracking saying someone with a voucher is processing their info but if someone without a voucher come along they can have the unit also. When I called he lied as if he was in a meeting. He always texting my phone a 1am or 2am. Evernest.co is a scam
Unfortunately, I did not do my homework thoroughly as an owner/ investor before I hired them to manage my properties in Detroit. I wish I had read these reviews before I hired them to manage my properties. If there were zero stars, I would have given them zero. Communication is very poor. I paid them for repairs that they did not perform. They had the properties in their possession for 6 months, they failed to rent them out. I lost a renter who was there for years because they failed to respond to repair requests. I finally decided to pull some of my properties out in September,to date I still don't have my keys despite several requests. They event reached out to my tenant and asked her to pay the October rent. I left one property for them to manage because the tenant was being evicted in October. Evernest failed to inspect the property after October 25th to ensure that the tenant vacated as per court order. When I inquired whether or not tenant vacated the property, I was told that they missed that property inspection. Basically, they forgot to inspect the property. which to me is unacceptable. Afterwards, the PM proceeded to tell me that they drove by and the property was still occupied and she will reach out to the attorney and get the bailiff to go out. It was a blatant lie. My new PM went to the property and had confirmed that the property was vacant as of 10/26. I have lost money, the whole 6 months Evernest was managing my properties. They advertised if they do not rent the properties after 30 days, they will provide 1 month free of management fee. I have yet to receive 1 month free. Run from Evernest.
I plan to leave as many reviews as possible on every online site out there in the Universe! I too, am a homeowner, actually we own 8 properties! We have never ever received this horrible experience with any of our other property management companies we use. We decided to let Evernest, Atlanta handle one in Georgia. Worst mistake of our life - Joshua Long don't let his pompous emails fool you. We paid them $2,274 in ADVANCE to get the property "market ready". They failed in so many ways. I am doing my best to reach the CEO, but let me say, I will do everything I can to help others see through their SCAMs. Stay away homeowners, don't do it - they lie and I really think they make most of their money by doing half repairs, collecting it from you upfront only to learn that your property isn't in fact "market ready". We ended up telling them we are DONE cancel our relationship, this was after they had our money - but we couldn't afford to see just how they process incoming potential tenant leads. It is disgusting. Atlanta is ran horribly and if the CEO wants to change this, he really needs to take a hard look at Josh his Operations person.
