Vultures. Government shutdown caused me to me a couple days late. Told them I was expecting a paycheck and would pay as soon as I had it. They still tried to pressure me into letting them take the money out of my account. I had never been late before. I constantly received emails and texts trying to get me to authorize taking money from me. I get they need pmts on time but have some courtesy that I'm not getting paid due to the shutdown.
We financed a home improvement upgrade through a third party, who used GoodLeap to finance it. Come to find out it was a 15 YEAR loan at 13% interest. We have made four payments so far...and looking at the statements, I realized that the entire monthly payment ONLY GOES TO THE INTEREST. I don't see how you can EVER pay off this loan! I can see how this would be a big money maker for them. BUYER BEWARE! I consider this a scam!
I had a loan from a year ago apparently. I thought it had already been paid so I had not followed it further. I got a phone call a couple days ago and a phone call today telling me this outstanding. I was very surpised and wanted to check with the company I made the pruchase from to see if it had been pain. They had no record of it so I called back as I said I would and inquired on taking care of this. The first issue is I did not remember this loan, which is not good; however, when I called to take care of this I was spoke to 2 gentleman who were less than professional and one did not want me to talk to anyone else. He said it was my fault - too bad. Really?!?!? - hmm red flag.My current issue is that the person who called me apparently a year ago (10/18/2024) about the loan at origin. I have never heard from this company since then until a couple of days ago. I have received nothing in the mail and no texts have been received. The interest free period is over and reputable companies would send monthly notices or at least call after payments were not make to see how to collect their money. So for 1 year not work at all. I hanot received a call until yesterday. October 2025. This is not the practice of honest companies who want to give good customer service and get repeat business. When i told the person I needed to speak with someone else and he just kept asking me why and what for - over and over. It was so unprofessional. The second gentleman was not much better although at least polite. I said I would pay the loan off today if they would remove the interest that they had sat on for 12 months. No go - not considered. I can only assume that Good Leap allows this go one for many months so they can collect high interest rates. Most companies will work with you. Most companies want our repeat business. I am appalled at the lack of consideration and care for the customer. I did not want to let it ride any longer now that I knew I had this loan to pay, so I called immediately to get a resolution started.I have seen many more reviews since this morning that apparently demonstrate the lack of concern to get the loan taken care of in full but not gouge me with the high interest. This is how loan sharks work, right?!?!I hope someone in management will read this and understand the damage to your reputation being done by uncaring customer service reps. I would really like to hear from you and resolve this.
Believe other reviewers, these folks are bad news and do not use them because you will be sorry. They offer 0% interest for a certain number of months but if you don’t pay within that free interest period they go back to inception of loan and charge exorbitant rates from original loan date. Sounds OK until you try to pay off the loan in time to avoid huge interest rates. They make it almost impossible to pay off in time and it’s obvious it’s intentional. Crooks in my book.
I was to recieve a loan for a new roof. The roof was scheduled to start oct 17th. The contractor submitted a fraudulent certificate of completion before the roof started on the 16th. I contacted GoodLeap cause I have no roof. And they said to bad. So I’m paying for a roof I don’t have for 10 years. A contractor who did fraudulent certifieds and gets paid befor they start. The inspector came thinking the roof was done obviously failed the inspection. I have no roof and they don’t care told me. Oh well we got a certificate of completion an you agree to pay once we got that. Sorry work wasn’t done, not are problem. They are scams!!!! Beware!!
Goodleap is a trash company that no one should ever use! They are thieves and make it very hard to pay off your loan in advance. Literally just made a payment and the next day I tried to pay off the whole thing. I got hit with an additional almost $200 in interest to pay off my account because "it takes time to clear on their end!" The friends and family $500 referral is bullshit too! Customer service says they dont offer it but the website says they do. When you click the reward it gives umyou a QR code to give your friend or family to give you credit. Like I said TRASH COMPANY, USE ANYONE ELSE!
The entire Goodleap that we worked with was absolutely amazing. They guided, answered questions, did changes when asked , all with kindness, understanding & complete professionalism. I would do it all over again if needed in the future.
GoodLeap is a lousy company. Workers do not speak english and only give first names when asked for their full names. Someone was sent to my home and switch was cut off to my solar panels without my knowledge. I am being harassed daily with phone calls and text messages. When I tried to correct the situation, I was told I would have to pay for gas and travel time for them to come to my home (approx. 2/12 - 3 hours). The original GoodLeap employee when called stated he was fired and owed $10,000 by the company. I have not been able to contact him since. This company is a scam company and I don't advise anyone to use them. The solar panel installer no longer works for them.
Extremely poor customer service. We’ve been emailing for over a month, and multiple representatives have told us that the portal shows current statements or that they would email us one directly—none of which has happened. The Goodleap payment portal is two months behind. You expect on-time payments every month, yet you can’t provide an up-to-date statement. The last statement available is from August, and it’s now October. We will be sending a formal letter on Monday and will be stopping payments until this is resolved.
