In my experience, Gudrun Sjödén clothes tend to come up quite big. In the case of tops, they usually have set-in sleeves – rather than raglan or drop sleeves that would suit a wider range of shoulder widths. As can be seen from their online pics, their full-length sleeves are sometimes so long that they reach the model's fingernails. And most items crease really badly. In short, they make distinctively eccentric women's clothes that rarely merit the high cost. I currently have three of their garments in my wardrobe, none of which is nice enough to wear except around the house. I have now switched allegiance to Betty & Co.
Really bad online service when you want to exchange or return. Still haven't got my money back. E-mails don't get any response and if I call them it is 3x "Can you call back in 10 minutes?"I just want my money back.I advice people never do business with them online. Go to the shop and see and fit so you do not have to return online.
Yep, consider buying someone a present FROM ANOTHER STORE ENTIRELY for christmas if you think they might not be able to spare a couple of weeks in january to try and return the gift.My husband bought me a nice looking pair of expensive boots (180£) which were too big. The store whence they came did not answer the phone in 5 working days once in the 33 times I called (says my call list). AT the headquarters, a helpful but clueless lady admonished me for trying to return something during a time that is so busy - my mistake for needing to return something during january! The thought of taking on more staff during busy periods is clearly not something G. Sjodren will consider.Next she said "could you not go to the store and return it in person?" - well I COULD but the thought of taking off another day to make the trip there and back, when (silly me) I was thinking in these modern days surely with the internet and the telephone.... So finally after another 15 mins of my life I'll never get back she said I might get a refund if I post the shoes to an address in Scotland which I'll find at the bottom of the website. LET ME SAVE YOU THE TIME it's not at the bottom of the website. Well no doubt i'll be back here in a couple of weeks reporting back once the good people who process the returns for Gudrun Sjodren have found another few pretexts of why they can't process a refund. In the meantime if you want to be good to someone DONT BUY them a present from....
I have just received my first order from this company, expecting high quality clothing for the prices they charge. I don't mind paying for a nice piece of clothing but the quality of the garments I ordered, especially the pants, was quite disappointing. The linen is of the thinnest sort you can imagine and after about an hour of wearing feels and looks like you're wearing a potato sack for 119 euros. Also their return policy that says in small print that when you return an item without exchanging it, they will deduct 10 euros of your refund, is not comparable to other online stores. Also the delivery took quite a while and you're expected to call UPS and schedule a pick up to return something. Quite inconvenient when you're working full time. I will definitely not shop at this company again.
Was very excited to find this website and the clothes. I ordered two pairs of trousers, and then found I'd also been given a jacket as a christmas gift, that didn't fit. I had to return it to the shop in Covent Garden - I had been surprised to see the cost of it, but it was a lovely print, and I hoped there was a size to fit me in the same design. There wasn't. I looked around to see if I could exchange. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The colours and designs are lovely, but sadly, the quality is really poor for the price. When I saw the trousers I had ordered online I was so disappointed- the flimsiest 'linen' possible. I know some clothes are 'floaty', but this just seemed to be very low grade cottons - and definitely wouldn't last long. It's a shame, because for the most part you want these great prints and designs to last. I was glad I went to the shop though.
So I'd registered, and ordered from the website; goods take a long time to come, although I can log in there are no details on 'my pages' or 'my orders', when I called 'customer services' and strangely insisted that the details were there - although I was logged in and looking at it - they weren't. There could be problems with the website? No - they are there! I didn't want to argue - I won't be going back to the site, so it was fine. If you do order from the website, bear in mind that £10 cost for return goods is deducted from your refund (although you can pay the post office, but recorded delivery worked out around the same - and I just didn't want to go there). I was surprised, because I shop a lot online, and have never come across this before (then again, I rarely return goods).
In short - if you like the look of the clothes, do try and visit a shop, so you can check it's the right fit, and the quality you might expect at these prices - and in my experience the service is so much better.
