I love the designs, the quirkiness but the clothes are expensive. The fabric is often thin and not very hard wearing, even the Winter coats are thin. I have just received 2 pairs of trousers from the Winter range yet they are such thin fabric, they are Summer trousers. Quite funny really as the brand is Swedish but definitely not wearable through a Swedish winter.Another big negative is the charge of £10 to return an item if not faulty. Obviously stops returns but also return customers! (Unless, like me you are constantly suckered by their lovely designs🙄)
Back in July of '21 I ordered an XL Dress in the Elizabeth Pattern. The dress was perfect but a little too big, so I returned it for a size smaller. The Size L dress took months to come. It was a dark blue/purple with all sorts of linty looking white spots. I expect slubs, but I don't expect the printing ink on the fabric to be used so sparely that the whole dress looks like it has white lint all over it. I called and returned this dress. The third one came months after that. The embroidered yoke was beautiful, but the dress had the same problem as before. White spots without fabric dye or ink.Gudren's quality control is quite insufficent. I have spent lots of money here previously. I love the largely unstructured designs. Their fabrics are so thin, however, that they are see through and will not last through many washings. I like light fabrics like cotton lawn for layering. But this is more like cheap voile. For the price, the quality should be better. I can sew and can make patterns for the things I like. That's what I'm going to do. Taking more than a half year goofing around when Gudren isn't keeping watch on quality is just balony.
I was extremely disappointed by level of customer service. I ordered a pair of fingerless gloves after 5.30pm on 17th December as a Christmas present. I realised I had ordered the wrong pair and emailed 5 mins later to cancel order and ordered the correct pair. I received an email the next day to say that it was too late to cancel first order - both items had been shipped from Sweden. Today, I received one pair. I have received notification that second pair will not arrive until 29th December. Both, apparently, shipped at same time. I see that I will have £10 deducted from refund unless I pay for return postage to Sweden, despite the fact that you have a UK store. I will never order you again. I also see that gloves have been reduced by 25% since I placed the order, just 6 days ago.
Terrible terrible delivery and returns. For a multi million global company they are having a laugh charging £10 for returns. I am awaiting a jumper ordered in early November- 1 of 2 items which are part of an outfit. One item arrived November, the other estimated 10/1/22. I was told it was ‘because of brexit’ but regular customers like me know it was like that way before brexit. They need to sort out their customer service. Also fabrics are often cheaply woven and over priced.
I love the Empire and high waist designs, they’re very flattering to most body types. Miss the flannel options you used to have for cold weather. Would love to see more larger sized models, something above size 12 would be nice. The quality, colors, and designs are wonderfully whimsical and brighten my day.
I found Gudrun about 3 years ago, and I have been very happy with my purchases and with the excellent customer service. There is always something that I would like to buy and I probably buy too much. But I smile every time I turn a page in the catalog. Everything is colorful and cheerful. You just can't go wrong, and if you do, they'll take the best care to make it right.
"Recent" experience has been disappointing, due to extreme supply chain problems. I'm sure these are largely due to COVID and not the fault of the company. But GS could be a little more proactive with communications and support. As for the clothes, I enjoy them very much. They're comfortable and easy-care, at least the ones I buy, and reasonably priced. There are styles for everyone, from urban graphic to classic to old-fashioned folkloric. I appreciate the efforts to be environmentally and culturally responsible.Perhaps my favorite feature is the harmonizing color palette, which means any GS color can be put together with any other. This leads to much fun color, pattern, and style mixing.
I love this company, and have worn GS clothes for years. But these last few orders have been disappointing. The fabrics don’t seem as good a quality as in the past. I would appreciate the return of better quality solid pieces, embellished or not. Some of the newer prints are over the top.
I like the design however the sizing is unpredictable and I don’t appreciate the shrink factor. I have to order a size larger to get the arms long enough and the shoulders wide enough. I will continue to look for items that I could like
I adore this clothing line! Bright colors, interesting patterns, and mix-and-match designs. It’s good for women of any age and body type. There are many new collections throughout the year, and there’s a chance to do resale online through several dedicated Facebook groups. Customer Service is very good, too. The only reason they didn’t get a five star review is that the online description of the garments’ fit is too often inaccurate. It will say “Figure Fit” and I’ll size up....only to find I actually needed my customary size.
