Once a great brand, now the materials are poor quality & no amount of spin can change this. Sizing? A nightmare. Charge £7 just to ‘process’ an online return. I’ve got some truly exquisite pieces from years ago but the style is not there. A lot of the clothes are childish bright tat. Expensive though. No customer service online. I wanted to add to my collection this autumn but there’s not much to choose from as they’re churning out the same clothes every year. Each year, the quality is lower, prices higher. Stick-thin models wearing multiple layers to achieve a look that is No way representative of their customer base. Years ago, I was a devotee of Boden but dropped them due to their lack of style. The website? A nightmare to navigate. Clothes launched on random dates depending on where in the world you are based. DECLINING.No amount of their ‘Gudrunistas’ Will keep this brand afloat if they don’t get their act together
Just looked at other reviews out of curiosity and find most agree with my experience of the uselessness of this company’s customer service. As haven’t yet managed to order anything, can’t actually comment on quality of clothes. Having registered for their newsletter, I received an email with a link for 20% discount on an item. However, couldn’t get the link to work and phoned to report this. After hanging on some considerable time, best suggestion was given was to try another browser or email them. Did latter and only response I got was asking if ‘I’d managed to get it to work yet’!! Not exactly helpful! Giving up now as sounds like their quality isn’t great anyway. Amused to note too that only reply given was to of few good reviews! 😂Burying their heads in the sand I’d say and hoping if they ignore, we’ll go away! Strange way of doing business!
I looked at the adverts for quite a long time before purchase and made the leap this year. I was so disappointed. I normally buy ethically and quality so it lasts, so didn't mind the prices. I buy natural fabrics so I can compost after worn out. I bought a pair of black harem pants to go with a lovely black top I made myself and hadn't had something to wear with it. I was very excited to start purchasing from Gudrun as the pictures of clothes are so colourful and planned to buy more items. The trousers cost £64 and were supposed to be organic cotton. I wore them on my birthday to go out for a meal. After about 2 hours I had to go home to take them off as the fabric was full of elasten, which makes me irritable. As I pulled it off it stretched alarmingly, I could see it was full of elastic. I had to get them off as I was climbing up the wall. I had imagined the elasten that was m mentioned was the waist band. The fabric was like a cheap pair of stretchy jogging bottoms and the material, very thin. I could go to Matalan for something like this. I'm left with an expensive item I can't wear. I noticed other posts mention the poor quality of the fabric.
I have recently placed two orders of sale items with another order on the way. I am very happy with the delivery time, service, quality and style of items I bought. Thank you 😊. Having placed more orders since my review I now, sadly have to downgrade my opinion of the company. This is solely due to unhelpful customer service. I was sent the wrong item (cheaper too than the item I had paid for), no return label in the package. After much toing and froing I have given up and am left with an item I did not order, which I am unable to wear (XS) and am £44 out of pocket. There appears to be no respect for the customer or desire to retain customer base.
Bought dress for a wedding but sadly the fabric was so thin it tore on first putting it on above a zip. Poorly constructed with paper thin cotton. First clothes purchase and will not buy again. Cost £110.I do not have the returns label and the customer service links on the website are not in operation so how do you return a faulty item?
I have had no problems with speedy delivery but have noticed that the sizes can be quite generous, even for standard size. A mohair vest from a few years ago was a bust - just pilled, no fun - and a cotton dress was pretty un-swinging.Eileen Fisher sweaters are horribly expensive and they just fall apart, unlike Gudrun. Gudrun sweaters aren't bad. Clothing companies are a big part of pollution and should stop existing, but, sigh.
I have been buying from the official site for several years for myself and for presents. I have always been very happy with the products and found the colours match the product. Some fabrics are thinner than others but you can see this on the pictures. I like the quality. The sizes in some dresses can come up large but they do in all nordic clothes. The delivery has always been good. I would recommend this company.
