Fuel tank level fraude by Hertz

Fuel tank level fraude by HertzWhen picking up the car, I notices that the fuel tank was not full but cc 1/4 less. Informed Hertz guy in the parking and he said this priblem was known with certain brands and adviced me to taken photo. When refuelling before return, the tank level showed full. Informed Hertz at airport and they gave me the cusomer service email. Hertz replied that staff should have given me another car and the quality of the first picture was too poor to confirm it was the same car. Hertz has now another extra income from fuel tank fraud. They charge the previous drivers for returning a car without full tank and hope the net doesn't notice. Disgusting

As in other reviews it is clear that Hertz charges for damages without any proof, it seems to be a systematic scam. never again, to avoid indeed.

Scammers!

Scammers!! They charge for damages that you don't do, it doesn't matter that you have evidence that you didn't do them. They charged us 300 euros for some scratches that they were not even able to show me a photo that clearly shows if they even exist. I have a video that shows that I delivered the car in perfect condition, but they still made the charge. They did not send me the damage report to my email, they supposedly wrote the email wrong, and they say they cannot resend it to me. This is theft and corporate corruption!

Beware of Hertz Tenerife South: Scam Alert!

I recently rented a car from Hertz Tenerife South and had an absolutely terrible experience. They are running a blatant scam to overcharge customers for damages.Firstly, the staff were unfriendly from the get-go, making the rental process unpleasant. But that's just the beginning. After returning the car at 7:15pm (out of hours), I received an email the following day claiming there were damages that was not there when I returned the vehicle, and they insisted on charging me an exorbitant fee for repairs (€103.78).It's clear that Hertz Tenerife South preys on unsuspecting customers, falsely accusing them of damage to make an extra buck. This dishonest practice is utterly unacceptable and I urge everyone to steer clear of this company. Save yourself the headache and go with a more reputable car rental service.

Fraudulent Company who do not respond or even acknowledge complaints.

First of all before I used Hertz on this occasion I thought they were a reputable company who could be trusted. How wrong was I. I hired a car through Thrifty and on arriving at Girona Airport I discovered that Thrifty was part of Hertz and also Dollar. Obtaining the vehicle appeared quick and easy but they had no one to go over the car with me to identify if there was any marks or damages and I discovered latter they sent through an apparent documenting highlighting damage by email. The suggested damage they highlight was at best a different tone in the paint which I hadn’t even been able to see from my inspection of the car.I took impeccable care of the car and returned it in exactly the same condition as I had received it. I dropped it back at 0830hours and as, despite being at the airport, they don’t open until 0900hours I had to drop the keys off out of hours. I then get an invoice to say there was damage to the vehicle and they provided photos to show a small mark on the internal plastic panel of the drivers door. This was barely visible and has no impact on the use or cosmetics of the car. I suspect it would have been there previously however unless you spend 1hour going through every inch of the car with a fine tooth comb you would never have noticed it.For this small mark which I have attached photographs off they have charged £177 including a €35 out of service charge. As you can see from the photos this clearly would not render the vehicle out of service in any way. What was also of note is they hadn’t highlighted the mark that they had suggested was on the car when I picked it up.As such I suspect both these marks have been on the car for some time and the company just rotate them to charge unsuspecting customers each time they hire a car with them. Further to this despite submitting a complaint I have heard nothing back and they have lied on things such as the invoice suggesting I asked to pay in £’s rather than €’s so they could give an awful exchange rate to make even more money. Also rather than just keeping the disputed blocked on my card whilst liking to resolve me disputing the charges they immediately took the money from my account and again I have had no response to me disputing the damage and also the amount they have suggested it would cost.Just to be clear this hasn’t actually cost me any money as I have insurance that covers me for this however it is clear Hertz are conning their customers and doing this for a money making business. They are in essence committing fraud and I would advise against anyone using them. I certainly will not be using them again and will advise everyone I know to avoid them. If I could give this company 0 stars then I would.

- AVOID AT ALL COSTS, NOTHING MORE THAN A SCAMMER COMPANY

- In Madrid airport the counter is outside (all other car rental counters are inside) so if you travel in winter, don't even think about Hertz (Actually, don't even think about them at all) or you will freeze.-They don't open 24 hours in Madrid airport (Even if they don't tell you that), so if you arrive at early hours prepare to wait many hours and freeze outside and if you arrive late night, prepare to pay a big fee for "late hours pick-up" (They don't tell you NOTHING about all of this when you make the reservation)-When my family picked up the car, they cheated them and charged them for stuff that was already on the price, or they didn't want. When I noticed this, that same day, I instantly called the client service, but they told me that they couldn't do anything until I delivered the car back (which was going to be 4 weeks later) because according tho them, they didn't have access to the contract I signed until the car was returned (Can you believe that?)Long story story short, once I returned the car I contacted client service again, just for them to tell me that they couldn't do anything because my family did agree to all of those charges once they signed.Client service is basically NONEXISTANT and they AREN'T there to help you, just to justify themselves.I ended up paying 1450 euros for a rental that was initially 800 euros.(Oh also, never select the "pay in my local currency" option when paying with your credit card, because the conversion is super abusive (another scam), just select euros, otherwise you might lose a couple of hundred dollars just in conversion. Please take my word and DON'T pick hertz, EVER.

Bad customer care

Very bad customer service. They give unidirectional communication and don't respond to requests. It's impossible to find a way to talk with somebody through their website.Besides that they have charged more than what communicated without giving any explanation.
