Massive scam from Hertz Girona train…

Massive scam from Hertz Girona train station.£88 day rental with £100 deposit. This included "anything happens" insurance.Car handed back, full tank of fuel, perfect condition and await deposit a few weeks later.No deposit, and a follow up email sees Hertz write back with my "invoice" showing that they'd not taken a deposit like they said but taken all my money and put multiple charges like €50 for fuel and fuel fee even though I had to return car filled up, so they stole €50 from me for fuel.TOTAL and utter scam. €88 day rental turned into €214 scam.

Avoid Hertz Malaga Airport!Hertz Spain charged me for SuperCover, 200 Euros, after I expressly said that I did not want additional insurance. Read the rental agreement carefully before signing. We cannot trust the employees of Hertz. This is the last time I rent a car from Hertz. Unscrupulous company.

I rented a premium vehicle from Hertz…

I rented a premium vehicle from Hertz Spain for about 50 days, I returned the vehicle full as per the fuel policy and with no issues what so ever, not that issues would matter because I paid a massive additional price for their full insurance package. In the days following my return of the vehicle various different sums of money were deducted from my account, totaling an amount of 340 euros. This is ontop of the security deposit that they never returned to me. I have tried to get ahold of their customer service team numerous times and have wasted hours of my life trying to do so. I urge you to not do business with hertz ever. They are criminals and have absolutely no customer service. I have been on an extended trip for a couple of months and have rented about 4 different vehicles from different providers over this time frame and hertz has been the only one I have had any issues with. Don't use them, you will be left pissed off and out of pocket.

BEWARE HERTZ IN MALAGA/BARCELONA

BEWARE HERTZ IN MALAGA/BARCELONA. Was recently mis-sold premium roadside assistance at Malaga which I never agreed to and believe was deliberately mis-lead into not noticing on the rental agreement by the customer services agent stating and circling only other expected fees on collection as a distraction. Was also forced to extend by 2 days in Barcelona due to a passport theft and was clearly told would be continued at the average daily rate of the existing contract but then later charged nearly twice that without being able to dispute costs at the drop off desk because simply taken from the credit card deposit already held by them. Customer services have been really unhelpful so far despite supplying supportive evidence. Planning to escalate further as looking at other reviews think this is now appearing widespread and that they just cannot be trusted any more.

Lost my passport in a rented car. Hertz's response was unhelpful, inconsistent, and lacked urgency.

I recently had an incredibly distressing experience with the Hertz agency in Valencia. After misplacing my passport inside a rented vehicle, my initial call to Hertz was met with the assertion that nothing had been found. Only after personally visiting the agency and persisting did they contact the subsequent renter of the vehicle. Thankfully, that client found my items and was due to return the car on Sunday.Upon revisiting the agency, I was informed that while the car was returned, my passport was not. I was met with rudeness and a blatant unwillingness to share further details. My return trip on Monday revealed that the subsequent client was willing to return the passport only if Hertz acknowledged receipt in writing. This was something the agency refused to do, and I was not even informed about this crucial development. The client, having no other option, reportedly dropped my passport at a police station. Despite the gravity of my situation, Hertz seemed reluctant to give me any information, let alone assist in a timely manner. They eventually directed me to the Guardia Civil in Alfafar.On reaching the mentioned police station, I was informed that they hadn’t received anything of the sort. Desperate for answers, I sought Hertz's assistance to contact the client, only to be met with resistance due to their supposed privacy concerns. Their suggestion? That I should go to the police so they can liaise with Hertz.After yet another trip to the agency, their reception was rude and unaccommodating, even after I explained my prior police visit. It was only after multiple trips and pleas to various police officers that I was finally able to retrieve my passport.While I recognize the importance of privacy, the entire ordeal could have been avoided, or at the very least alleviated, if Hertz showed a shred of empathy and cooperativeness. I sincerely hope no one else has to endure such an ordeal with them.

Hertz spain = scammers / estafadores

Hertz spain are scammers - AVOID AT ALL COSTS- They will try to charge you miniscule car damages (light scratches and a size of 1 milimeter). Allmost all rental companies (world wide) will charge you for scratches bigger than 2 or 3 centimeters and where the metal or plastic is visible.- Customer service is not existent.- And pick up times for your car can be very long.Hertz may appear cheap sometimes, but with the scamming extra charges you will end up very expensive and frustrated.In Spain there exist a government official complaint procedure through a "hoja de reclamacion" document. Than you can apply for arbitration by the local government. Hertz españa son unos estafadores - HAY QUE EVITAR- Te cobran daños minúsculos al coche. Rayones leves y/o un tamaño de 1 milímetro. Casi todas las empresas de alquiler en todo el mundo solo te cobrarán por arañazos mayores de 2 o 3 centímetros en los que se ve el metal o el plástico.- La atención al cliente no existe.- Y los tiempos de recogida de tu coche pueden ser muy largos.Hertz puede parecer barato a veces, pero con los cargos adicionales de estafa te sale muy caro y frustrado.Recomiendo llenar una "hoja de reclamación" y solicitar el arbitraje del gobierno local.

DON’T rent an EV car in Spain .

Pre-booked a hire car via Ryanair .. when I went to collect they gave me an electric Opel. I explained I had no experience with EV cars but was assured there would be no issues. Car had a full charge and although different I was able to drive it ok. After two days I needed to recharge it. First garage with EV charger was told it wasn’t working. Next, at local hotel but they did not have connection for my car. Next a Repsol garage …you need an app Waylet so downloaded only to find out you have to have a Spanish mobile number and a Spanish credit card .. Revolut not accepted. Drove to Hertz Marbella .. helpful guy there gave me an information sheet on how to/where to go - NOTE NOT GIVEN AT MALAGA AIRPORT COLLECTION POINT. Guy took me to a parking site, showed me how to hook up .. to fully charge it was going to take over 20 hours … so using the info he gave me I went to a charge site in Puerto Banus but only for Porsches … I’m now driving on critical low. Got to another Repsol garage where very helpful guy charged it for 90 minutes, paid on his Spanish card and I gave him cash and a bottle of quality Rioja wine….After 90 mins I had 68 kms of charge. Eventually a friend let me charge from his house. Car was on charge for over 4 hours … screen showed ‘charge complete’ … big sigh of relief but when I started the car it had 19% 72 kms charge … back to square one. I’ve wasted at least a day on this ….. stress level at breaking point and I’ve been walking to charging points as I can’t afford to use/waste the small amount of charge left. So moral of this story? DON’T HIRE AN EV CAR IN SPAIN THEY ARE NOT PREPARED and Hertz Malaga Airport shame on you for not warning about these issues. Oh and don’t try and phone Hertz as it’s a waste of time. Rant over.

Not a good or flexible service

We had booked a car from Home and given all details including flight no. As we arrived prior to estimated time Hertz refused to give a car. We were asked to wait. There were no other customers at the counter during the whole time Its a bit surprising that such a Big Company who talks about quality have such a low and unflexible service. Only offer was to upgrade against extra payment. Not quality service!

Avoid Hertz Malaga Airport

Hertz Spain charged me for damage and returning the car late, the car was returned undamaged and 12 hours early, there was none to accept our car when we returned it, we were told to leave the keys in a key box,Don’t trust them, take photos before and after,Customer service useless

My rented car was not full with fuel…

My rented car was not full with fuel what I saw when leaving and took a photo. When I returned the car I showed it and they said, send an email we will see what we can do as I filled the car to full but after 4 reminder and more than 1 month later they just do not react. For me no more Hertz at Barcelona airport
