Review Time
This was my first time ordering from Hotel Chocolat, and I had high hopes after hearing good things. I purchased the Extra Thick Caramel Egg, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to its name — only the edges were thick, while the rest of the egg was quite thin, which was disappointing. The taste of the chocolate itself wasn’t great either, especially considering the premium price. On a positive note, the delivery was quick, and the presentation was lovely, but sadly, I won’t be buying from Hotel Chocolat again.
I've been a VIP customer for a couple of years now,but I fail to see ANY benefit whatsoever of this.I'm disabled & ALL my shopping HAS to be carried out online.I receive the VIP birthday code for money off,YET whenever I attempt to use it,I'm unable.It's APRIL other offers are running & you are PEVENTED from using 2 offers together(OR an offer with a discount).Shoppers who can collect their orders from a store do not pay delivery charges(or only a minimal),YET someone who is UNABLE to take advantage of this constantly pays your delivery fees even when ordering; £60,£80,£100,or even £200+ in one transaction.How is this Fair?!I really do like Hotel Chocolat(not its prices),& it's now a family tradition I buy it for Birthdays,Easter,Christmas & New Year.However with my VIP status no longer offering/getting a discount with ALL purchases(when it was originally set up/like it once use to, I'm afraid that without changes being made to this 'so-called' VIP club, I will properly cease to be a regular customer by the end of the year(I will need to buy my kids the same as I bought my others for theirs earlier in the year) but once that is completed I will no longer buy anythingon a regular basis. (Current order no: 74461073 from 22/4 £62.65. Discount refused as sale items.Previous order number:74295193 from 15/3 - £138.95. Discount refused as easter items were on 2 of £22 or 3 for £14. NEITHER Order would take my VIP discount code,& will run out 30th April.Easter almost ALWAYS happens in April. I've been told it can not work with other offers......but it could have been taken off the delivery charge instead(You just don't want to)
TO THE CEO OF HOTEL CHOCOLAT , WHY ???ARE NOW USING VERY BAD COMPOSITIONS PRODUCT THAT NEVER USED TO BE?!!.. , NOW THEY ARE USING IN THEY CHOCOLATE COMPOSITIONS CARRAGEENAN THAT CAUSED VERY BAD HEALTH PROBLEMS LIKE COLON CANCER , INFLAMMATIONS , BOWEL DISEASE , ECT .. SHAME ON YOU I THOUGHT YOU WEAR DIFFERENT FROM OTHERS CHEAP COMPANIES , BUT NOW YOU ARE NO DIFFERENT THEN A CHEAP SUPERMARKET CHOCOLATIER , YOU SAY YOU DO NOT USE ADDITIVES AND GOOD QUALITY BUT LOOK AT THE RUBBISH QUALITY YOU ARE USING NOW , SHAME ON YOU . GO BACK WHEN YOU WEAR STARTED YEARS A GO INSTED OF PUTING RUBBISH INGREDIENTS IN YOUR CHOCOLATES NOW !
Unfortunately I’m not able to review the actual chocolate as it arrived too late for me to receive! I paid for express/faster delivery for product to arrive at my Mum’s house whilst I was there visiting for Easter weekend. Should have arrived Sat but in fact arrived Tuesday, after I had returned back home (200 miles away). I know bank hols can cause delays and these things happen, but still frustrating to have paid extra for a faster service that didn’t happen.
