Order process fine! Delivery is the problem! Notified of delivery to an empty house, two minutes before delivery. Delivery states the parcel was left in an enclosed porch. There isn’t a porch of any sort!Parcel actually left behind a plant pot 2 metres from a public footpath and visible! It’ll be a minor miracle if it’s still there when we return home!Would have changed delivery if I had the chance to do so!
Ordered an Easter egg for my granddaughter. It was a hollow chick with a box of milk chocolate drops ideal for her age as not too big but very cute. Delivered on time and she was thrilled with the Easter egg. Also ordered a box of chocolates for my husband for Easter and to say Thankyou for looking after me following my recent surgery. It arrived this morning and he was really pleased with his gift. I no doubt will help him eat the chocolates when he opens them! Great service with emails to say when the chocolates had been delivered. Will definitely order again. Thankyou!
On the 19/4/25 I posted a review on a large ostrich Easter egg I purchased from hotel chocolate. This purchase was made over a Neuhaus Easter egg I considered purchasing for my family due to one specific detail of advertising by hotel chocolate. On the packageing it stated one half was crispy cookies puffed rice and the other half was crispy feuilletine, this was a total false advertisement to sell the product and extort £90 from the hard working general public by Not using feuilletine on the 2nd half of this very expensive product. Some might say more fool me and that's a fair point but I wrote my review not for financial gain but to highlight again how enticing the photography was for me to part with my hard earned cash to what me and my family actually got inside the fancy tin. There has been many back and forth in emails instigated by hotel chocolate to come to some sort of resolution in this matter subsequently ending in a £10 e voucher being issued. I never asked, wanted or sort finances from hotel chocolate but went along and responded to all emails sent to me out of curiosity. I have no idea weather I'll use this voucher, but I know I'll be purchasing from Neuhaus in the future and giving hotel chocolate a miss. Just a thought I wonder if it's Mars's strategy to false advertise on there products
I have been a regular customer for HC over the years. Recently, however I have seen a marked decline in the quality of chocolate, and of course, the substantial increase in price. This Easter’s eggs have made me decide it’s time to reduce any purchases I make from HC. The chocolate eggs I ordered, came in a different container from the usual quality - of course you could tell it was a cheaper paperish version of what used to be a decent container, and the egg itself (£34 worth of egg) was not as thick as it used to be and certainly the flavour had changed. A Cadbury’s egg would have been more flavourful. There is something markedly different about your chocolate now and it’s not nice. Also, the very few amount of chocolates inside the egg was disappointing compared to years before. There was markedly LESS contents inside. You can’t expect to keep returning customers happy and returning, when you start changing the quantity and quality of what your customer is getting, and expecting them to pay more for that. I think next year I’ll be buying Lindt bunnies that are much cheaper and way tastier. Really really disappointed. Also, while I’m at it, I used to buy your Everything sleekster box, and often your mixed trays to add in to Xmas boxes and birthday gifts, but they’ve become overpriced and rubbish quality too. Very sad.
