Appalling. Bought a Hotpoint washing machine and after less than 18 months it developed severe problems with a part linked to the drum falling off. Was quoted £150-£210 labour from Hotpoint for fixing THEIR machine that developed the problem so early and if I went with the fix they would only offer me a 12 month guarantee again. They need to take accountability for their products, I won’t ever buy a Hotpoint again and recommend others don’t too after this experience. What they should have done is offered the fix at a reasonable rate or alternatively given a longer guarantee after the fix, or even given a longer guarantee in the first place. They clearly have no faith in their products and I share that lack of faith .Update based on below reply - yes of course we’re unhappy with the appliance….a part holding the drum has fallen off after less than 18 months! The warranty was only 12 months so basically you’re saying you are comfortable that such an issue happens with your product after 18 months, which means you have little faith in it (so we share the same view on that, which means never buy a hotpoint). And of course you could change any pricing 😂😂 it’s in the gift of your CEO or operations/finance director to do so. Thanks for a truly pointless reply
Absolutely disgusting attitude and service. Hotpoint failed to deliver for no reason, I waited in for nothing the first time. Then on the second attempt they came before my delivery time slot. I explained that i would be there on my allocated time as given by hotpoint. The rude delivery guys told me it's not their problem. That they will give me 15mins to get there otherwise they are going. I explained that they had a cheek as they not only let me down the week before by not showing up and now they were early before my time slot and giving me 15mins or their off. I told them I'm not far away and asked them to contact their manager and explain that I've had to take 2 days off work so far, the first day they didn't show and 2nd time they are before my time slot. The guys phoned me back and told me their manager told them that it's tough that I still only have 15mins to wait then they are leaving. My 72yr old neighbour was stalling them while I rushed back before my allocated time slot. I was absolutely disgusted at how they were treating me, I'm lucky I didn't have an accident driving trying to rush. They were about to pull off when I arrived 17mins later. I'm not happy!! Hotpoints reply is that they are busy!! Not good enough!! Avoid if you can!!!
