Review Time
Last week my email was compromised and my jagex account taken over by hackers. I lost my main of many years almost maxed, quest cape, maxed gear etcI recieved an email advising my linked email had been changed and to contact support.Upon contacting them they advised that they have no current way to recover a jagex account and instead will be locking the account from the hacker. But have no intention in returning it to me. I have spent loads on bonds and membership as mentioned i was almost a maxed account bar 3 skills . But they showed zero empathy and just said we hope to see you create a new account and embark on a new adventure..... this was a complete insult..I've played since 2003, maxed in RS3, played through EOC and then created this main in osrs which became my main. now my main is gone forever. I will be seeking compensation and financial loss as they refuse to give back my account even with all recovery details, proof of years of purchases and memberships because policy is they wint recover jagex accounts for player. This is completely wellbeing destruction and one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I'm completely shocked at how they dismiss any help but expect someone to start again. I will never play their games again. Essentially if you get hacked then say it's your fault and won't give your account back if your jagex account is hacked due to compromised emails.... this is really sad and demotivating.
0 customer support. If you get hacked or anything you better hope you remembered every detail of what day, year,month where you lived and who knows what other hoops they have you jump through to prove its you. They obviously don't care about people stealing accounts. Also spam and bots are ridiculous. But they don't care cause it makes them money. Welcome to the greed...
They will automate the false banning of your account under macro/botting while providing zero evidence whatsoever no matter how many times you ask. They also give no reply at all to appeals of their mistake and making requests is a waste of time; you'll get nothing but bots giving copy/paste response that answer nothing and resolve nothing. Their support team basically doesn't exist and Jagex should be considered as scammers.
Been playing since 2006, and the longest break I took from the game was 1 year. other than that, I've been playing every day probably 90% of the time (I know, I have no life) not once have I been hacked or scammed, as others have mentioned. Thank you for such a wonderful experience :)!
absolutely HORRIBLE company that happened to make a great game over 24 years ago. the nostalgia of it all pulled me back in when i noticed old school runescape when it was launched in 2013. i instantly fell back in love with my favorite childhood game. i borrowed some money from an IRL friend that was quitting. (he gave me 300m) and i was immediately given a real world trade ban warning. i knew that i didn't trade gold or sell it, so i figured i'd have nothing to worry about. after about 8 months of playing and never breaking any rules, i borrowed an item from a clanmate and used collateral for trust. i used the item, and we traded back. everything was fine. i log out to eat dinner, and log back in to find that i'm banned for "real world trading" and it's a whole week ban. i obviously tried appealing it, but i believe a bot responded to my appeal. all it said was "appeal denied"... after almost a year of playing, i am terrified of logging in one day to find that my account is banned for another false rwt ban. or any ban for that matter. it would be a lot nicer if jagex had ANY form of customer service like just about every other website out there does, but they do not. they have hundreds of thousands of players spending real money on memberships/bonds, and putting in real effort into the game. yet when people need assistance, jagex is nowhere to be found. i've been wanting to re appeal that false rwt ban for over 6 months now. hypothetically, if i were to get another false rwt ban, my account would be permanently banned. i have over 180 days played. could you imagine losing your whole account over something you absolutely did not do? this is exactly why a ton of osrs players despise the way jagex is running this company. it seems like all they care about is money. they clearly don't care about getting rid of bots. it seems like they only ban real players. it makes no sense to me. the game in itself, is amazing. but the jagex team? it's an absolute joke. the day i can reach out and speak or text someone from jagex one on one, will be the day i change my mind on this matter. if you're new, i truly wouldn't even recommend starting playing the game. the amount of false bans just from myself and my clan mates are absolutely ridiculous. all while there is zero way to actually speak to anyone about the reasoning behind the ban. if you do decide to play, just remember that at any given point in time, regardless if you do anything wrong or not, you can log in and be permanently banned and never receive a legit response from jagex as to why this happened. i really wish they cared about their customers. as time and time again, they have proven very clearly, they definitely do not.
Decided to pick up runescape again and check out what's been going on (I previously played as a child) and then decided to get premier membership.I was logged into the game via the Jagex Launcher and pressed upgrade to premier in the obnoxious pop which fills the entire screen whilst playing. I then proceed to checkout and lo and behold - nothing was added to my account, the payment was taken immediately and upon seeing this I quickly messaged Jagex Support.So far it's been three days and not received a response. This is a fantastic welcome back to the game and shows how much Jagex really care.After five days I will be disputing this charge as product not received to get back a full refund. I will also be reporting this to the trading standards as they have to adhere to UK law. You cannot be selling items under the guise that people will receive them and then you don't even respond to them. Horrendous company - avoid them.
Disgraceful support. They're security failed and I lost everything and the response is a big middle finger. 2 step verification and bank pin was enabled my account got hijacked and they did nothing to help, nothing. I spent a decade on the game, money on bonds memberships, and they spit in ur face.
