Bought a bed, mattress, and sofa for my new house from Joseph James. Quick delivery straight to the room the furniture was needed. I had my heart set on a specific sofa that wasn't available anywhere in the UK. Matt & James knew which one I was looking for and as soon as they got one in stock they called to let me know and held it back whilst I made sure it would fit! They were probably fed up of seeing me by the end of it all - but were fantastic, great communication throughout. Cheers to the whole team!
I’m not reviewer. The way I look at it is: did you have something I wanted to buy? Did I buy it? Was it delivered? OK so everybody did what they are paid to do. Got to change tack though…. I didn’t want to go to Joseph James but wifey said opposite. Off to JJ Stockport we went. Sofa…sofa…sofa…sofwhoowww! Saw the sofa. Amazing price. Nothing else would touch it. Totally wasted another 10 minutes looking at sofas that were an utter waste of time. Enter Matt & Sarah; I thought they were fellow customers. No hard sell. No bullshit. Sarah knew which sofa we wanted to buy as she had, all ninja like, clocked our enthusiasm on the sofa we eventually bought. Matt outlined the extra footstool option. For the first time in her life my lovely wife said she didn’t need a footstool. Matt did us a deal. I took the deal because I definitely would have been returning to buy the footstool. Delivery was set for 3 days after the purchase (3 days!!!) and for a small fee they took away our old sofa. Delivery is included in the price you pay. Cynical old me thought, ‘something is bound to go wrong, this is all too easy.’ I was wrong. It was this easy. I was even sent a short video of the delivery preparation of our actual sofa. I will never go to another outlet for furniture. The buying experience was easy and natural. The delivery guys were amazing (Reviewed by my wife, not an easy sell!) They turned up when they said they would. Told my wife to sit back and relax, they would do everything. Again all ninja like, the old sofa was gone and the new one in place. Utterly brilliant. I’m an old grumpy kinda ‘yeah you just want my money’ old school guy. Hold my hands up: Sarah & Matt and the delivery guys were beyond brilliant.
I purchased a sofa from this company from the moment I had paid the communication eas fantastic,they kept in touch with every detail of delivery and I received my new sofa yesterday 😀. It was packaged fantastic, and delivery men were so courteous. I rate this company one of the highest I have ever dealt with online. Joshua done a great job. Thanks guys highly recommend Mairead (NI)
from start to finish great service, Josh in sales (Stretford) pleasure to deal with knew my budget and worked to it, nothing too much trouble, free delivery & Keith delivery guy fantastic managed to get sofa through my doorways removing sofa legs etc set everything up in place went that extra mile, absolutely delighted with sofa & chair at a great price, two friends going to look for sofa from your shop now, well done Joseph James.
Will roll out the red carpet when buying something but the after sales service is terrible. Purchased a dining table and part of the deal was for the legs on the table to be painted. Waited 2 weeks and didn’t hear anything from them when i called i was told they have not been done and the paint had been ordered?? Bear in mind they were supposed to be done and delivered a week before i called. It would have been nice if someone would have at least had the courtesy to tell me. I was interested in a sofa and Due to this reason i didn’t purchase from them and went to Heatons furniture outlet i got a better deal and the service was great. Ps one of neighbours also purchased a sofa from them and had a similar issue with delivery.
Highly recommend this place. We visited the showroom in stretford - not as fancy as Furniture Village/SCS but some absolute bargains as a result - quality products at low prices (TK Maxx but for furniture as their website says). We had great service from Josh in showroom, including rearranging the showroom layout to let us see our items alongside each other, offering 3 months free storage while we wait for our space to be ready, and free nationwide delivery service. Already recommending to friends and family. Take a look!

We are not a typical furniture store. In fact, we do virtually everything differently. We receive and process clearance stock from traditional retailers. Retailers send us clearance stock for many reasons. We receive photography samples, end-of-line stock, cancelled orders, customer returns and ex-display pieces. This stock is sorted, quality checked, photographed and uploaded to our website.
As our name suggests, we were founded in 2019 by Joseph and James. After leaving school at 18, they launched the company from a dilapidated basement unit in a Stockport mill with just 5 sofas.
The popularity of their discounted branded sofas and rapid delivery model facilitated strong growth. Joseph and James have always sought to do things differently from the incumbent outlets. This began by being the first furniture outlet to host a website which showed their live stock and was available to be ordered immediately by customers. Joseph and James don't wish to be just another furniture outlet, they want to be the biggest furniture outlet.
