Bought a pair of mens Targhee 111 mid height boots just over a year ago. Have worn them once or twice a week for an average 7 mile walk. Firstly the rands started to crack then the upper started to separate from sole around the edge of the boots. They stopped being waterproof after only 9 months and now the sole on one boot is completely coming away from the upper. I have owned a number of different makes of walking boot over the years and the are definitely the worst I have ever had. Unwearable after just over 12 months - a complete waste of money!
Bought Keen work boots which I must say were very comfortable. However after 1 year the stitching in 2 places had gone, brought to a local shoe repair shop and had them restiched about 3 months later the rubber covering on the toe cap came loose followed by the soles coming off had to dump them at this stage. I must say they were the worst boots I have ever purchased as I am in my late seventies I have had quite a few pairs of boots in my time. Keep away from Keen boots they are pure rubbish.
4 years ago I bought my first Keen Boots. I loved them and wore them every day. I liked them so much I got a second pair. They were the best boots id ever had.I bought a third pair that didn't last near as long but since I bought them from eBay i figured they may have been knockoffs and didn't think much of it.Well I bought a fourth pair directly from Keen. They began to fall apart the first week I had them. the stitching fell out of them. I contacted Keen and they immediately responded with a claim number and asked for photos and the receipt which I provided. I have now responded four times and the only response I have received is the same canned response asking for photos and receipts. For 165.00 I expect better, Better product and better customer service. My next boots will not be Keens.
Very comfortable shoes for walking across a range of terrains and a good, wide fit. But.... the construction is shoddy. The sole has separated from the upper on 3 successive pairs of Targhee walking shoes after relatively little wear, and reviees show this is a widespread construction problem. Shoddy product for the price. Not a good brand.
It’s now been just over a year since I bought these KEEN shoes, and unfortunately, things have only gone downhill. The heel on the sole has worn through, and cracks are now appearing along the sides. The inner heel padding is starting to delaminate, and some of the stitching has begun to come undone entirely. For a brand that used to stand for quality and durability, this has been really disappointing. I expected these shoes to hold up for years with moderate use, not start falling apart this quickly. It’s not just me either—others in my family have had similar issues with recent KEEN shoes. Whatever changes they’ve made in their materials or manufacturing, it’s clearly not for the better.Very frustrating experience. Definitely reconsidering future purchases from KEEN.Keen I am trying to help you save your business. But I bet you will not reply to this review
Keen makes great trail / hiking boots, but their sandals are awful. Each of the toe holders on my Kona flip flops have come loose (one I was able to fix by poking a hole at the bottom to pull the fabric thru because the sole was also split apart), but this time the other shoe is unrepairable. My husband has had to glue the soles together on his sandals, so hoping he'll get more use out of them. We only have sandal season for a few months each year, and these were purchased in 2020 -- it's terrible that these can't stand up to use and storage (not "fit for purpose)!
