Do not use wings air. I have been to Indonesia multiple times and they cancel on you the day before even though they know probably a week in advance they are going to cancel on you. They are an absolutely horrible airline. It deserves to go bankrupt and we need to help them along the way to get there.
I can only write about my experience as I see many “poor” reviews. Booking online with Lion Air/Wings Air was simple and uncomplicated. I added additional weight for my larger backpack. The online instructions for the carry on cabin baggage was clear. Many people ignored this and at the boarding gate the additional/larger carry on baggage was tagged and charged and put into the aircraft hold. The check-in staff were exemplary. The cabin crew were all impeccable and proficient. There were delays out of direct control of the airline. The price of my flights were OK. I recommend Lion Air/Wings Air
Charged double for baggage handling, AUD$230. Flying from Bima Sumbawa to Denpasar Bali Indonesia via Lombok, charged double for baggage handling when myself, surfboards and bag didn't leave the plane in Lombok. If you can fly with someone else, do it
I booked in march a flight from Raja Ampat (Sorong airport) via massakar to Bali for 24th august (flight number lion JT 945 and JT 747). 5' before departure from Sorong they delayed the first flight to Massakar and we were informed that the connection was lost. In Sorong the clerk at the office proposed two options 1) a route via Jakarta arriving in Bali at 6 morning of the day after and 2) flight the morning before from massakar to Bali at 8:30.We took five minutes to think what option was best. Then the guy told that option 1 was not possible and that maybe there could be a chance that the flight in massakar could be delayed accordingly and refused to to new tickets for the 8:30 flight. When we arrived in massakar the flights were sold out and they offered a flight at 16:20 of the day after (yes 24 hours after the original flights).The guys were not able to speak English and when we asked for a refund said the only option was to go at their hotel (SuperOYO 1633 Hotel Darma) and wait. The nightmarish part starts now: we were in a room full of mosquitoes, spiders and I do not know what animals. We did NOT have any clean linens and towels and I got them only when I when I literally cried at reception. No food available. And the room was without shower.We were too tired to look for another hotel (it was 22)All the time we reached to them to find a solution they never communicated in English or clearly with us.I am writing this review while I am hoping to fly my next flight to Bali. NEVER take a flight with them, if you can choose only use Batik Air.
The worst Company in my experience. They cancelled our Flight from Balikpapan to Berau and they refused to help US to find a solution.... We asked for a refund, we spent 2 hours in the Airport for this operation.... Inacceptable. Staff at Balikpapan Airport really impolite. Never again
Horrible experience!!! They charged us extra for every kilogram our check in bags had (a lot!) at check in although the website during our booking said we had check in bags included! Flight was delayed for several hours. No information was given about the new departure time. Flight itself was not comfortable at all. Never ever again! Scam company!!
