We had booked a short trip from Bangkok to Phuket with this airline. Never had such a bad experience with a flight before... First of all, our flight was canceled without us being informed about it. We only see it when we arrive at the airport after driving a taxi for an hour. After that, it's obviously our responsibility to inform the staff that their flight has been cancelled, which is behind them. Instead of finding a new flight, they say we have to leave the next day instead.. (because they are probably interested in keeping the earnings in their company) we ask them to find a flight the same day. This can easily be done. However, they screw up our luggage, which we had also paid extra for. They start fumbling with the fact that we have a kilo too much in one suitcase and a kilo too little in another.. therefore everything has to be messed around and moved around.. some of the luggage even has to be put in carrier bags so that we can walk around with that, instead of it staying in the suitcase.. last but not least, we have to pay for the refund ourselves, even if it's a mistake on their part. Really bad and unprofessional treatment of customers.. stay away from this company..
To avoid. The experience couldn’t be worst. Our flight was cancelled 1 week before the departure without a flight reschedule and no refund option, so they kept our money. We tried to contact them from Europe and it was impossible and all in Indonesian. We went in person to their office at Lombok airport and they said that we had to do it by the website. I don’t know why they have an office if they are useless and solve none of your problems. If you want to have some peace and pleasant holidays do not book your flights with this company.
Late on both flights (1 hour on way to Bali and 2 hours delay on the return flight). Imagine a flight of 70 minutes which is delayed 2 hours. Astonishingly poor service too, as they have not even bothered to inform the passengers. Avoid this airline at all costs - they are not to be trusted.
Booked an internal flight through a third party (eDreams) which was subsequently cancelled due to Covid. Couldn't get anyone at eDreams to reimburse me so asked Lion Air for help. They looked into the flight cancellation and eventually have reimburse me. They didn't have to do this as it wasn't them I had paid.A big big thank you to Lion Air especially Amelia Dwi Lestari who has been my contact through out this very lengthy problem. In future I will book directly with the Lion Air Group
Terrible experience - DO NOT USE THIS PLATFORMTerrible experience. The government changes the policies overnight and they don't want to take responsibility for the tickets refunds cause it is not the customer's issue. Will not EVER EVER BOOK AGAIN with this platform. The rule for the refund would had been 50% as per their airline policy but they just say can give 10% without any reason. IT is terrible experience and will not fly with them again.NEVERadvice - DO NOT BOOK ON LION AIR GROUP. listen to me.
Now, I am a patient person and one who travels quite extensively, around 15 international long-haul flights a year. Occasionally, for a quick flight I go via a LCC (low cost carrier). Usually, AirAsia. However, I have been on a few LionAir flights ex BKK and Bali (for a domestic Indonesian flight) have been really pleased. This changed this week when I had a rather interesting "discussion" with ground crew who wanted to charge 65,000 IRP (say $5 US) per kilo on NOT the overweight hand luggage, but on the total hand luggage weight. Now, I am not averse to this IF its fair and reasonable, but firstly, to charge this on the total weight is unprecedented, but it gets worse: all we had to do was unpack the additional items and STILL take them as hand luggage !! Please, can anyone explain this logic? It gets worse: transit was in another domestic Indonesian airport and as per usual, we expected to just remain on the aircraft awaiting new pax to board. No. We were told it was a different aircraft and that we had to take all our luggage and disembark. Lies. We reboarded 40 mins later on the same aircraft. What I would like to say was that the cockpit crew were first rate. Bad weather, a lot of turbulence etc but on landing, the pilot did a superb job. Cabin crew ex Bali were OK...ex Kartajati(Bandung) were excellent. I would have given Lion Air a 5 star rating if we hadn't experienced the situation in Bali and with the Bali cabin crew.
Lion air’s website makes booking a flight next to impossible. When I went into a lion air office to ask for help with my booking on an iPhone, the girl there laughed at me for even trying. She did the booking for me at her terminal. When finished, I quickly wanted to confirm the 20kg checked luggage that lion air still shows on their website. She said that that information was wrong, as lion air had been charging for all checked luggage since January 2019, to the tune of more than the price of the actual ticket. The flight departed an hour late, because during check in, every passenger got to the counter with baggage, only to be told they had to pay for the checked luggage, then received a paper slip with the weight, with which they had to walk to the other side of the airport to pay the fee (only one cashier for the whole airport), then come back with the receipt and complete check in. Took about 12 minutes per PAX!!My travel buddy tried to buy a ticket at the airport, but was told the flight was full. However I was already on said aeroplane and could see many empty seats, so I phoned my buddy and told him to insist. He did, and was told he could get a ticket if he paid a bribe! Then he had to pay twice the fees for his checked luggage, because they knew he really wanted to fly. Terrible airline! Avoid at all cost
I could not prebook check-in luggage online for my flight from Bali to Bangkok. I called them (the first number on their website did not work, temp. out of order !!! ). They told me I either have to pay Rp 224.000 (22AU$) PER KG !!! at the airport at check-in; or I could prebook for just Rp 23000 (that is 10%) up to 6 hours before, but I can only do that at the airport. That is ridiculous !!! My luggage would cost more than my ticket if I would not go to the airport before !!! And I would have no idea about that if I would not have called them !!! I know countries where this would be ILLEGAL !!!
