Review Time
Been using Lynx for 5 years. Moved to Prestbury 18 months ago and since then on average 50% of their jobs have been late, with a number of them having to be cancelled due to the degree of lateness. I catch a 6.53 train every week and despite my bookings getting earlier and earlier to accommodate Lynx’ tardiness, I still am faced with having to cancel bookings and find alternative transportation. Terrible service. Booked a 5.15pm taxi at lunchtime. No show but a text saying they were looking for drivers. Rang after 20 minutes and was told they had no drivers available and it would be at least 20 minutes more. When i said this wasn't good enough and how unprofessional it was, i was told that it wasn't her fault as she'd not taken the original booking! Thank goodness we weren't catching a train or plane!This is the second time this has happened with Lynx so avoiding at all costs now!
Ordered a 7 seater taxi for 4:30 24hours in advance . Rang at 4:40 to make sure it was on the way but was told they don’t have a big taxi so would need to send 2 cars. I had a confirmation email & text message so don’t understand why they didn’t tell me. Was told the 2 taxis would be 5 mins. Rang back 30 mins later to be told he’s around the corner, tracked it on the text message to see he was about 15 mins away. Shocking service will never use them again . Quite obvious from the reviews they are useless .
Pre-booked a taxi for 11.50pm. Called and they said busy. Called 20 minutes later to be told taxi had been and I had missed it.No text or call. I am over 60 years old, a lone female and had to walk home on my own. I pre- book a taxi to be safe but this company obviously don't care about this. Whoever the driver was is to blame for this as they did not let me know they had arrived and I doubt they ever did
Had heard things but used lynx on holiday and had a good experience .. the first time!This morning, myself and my partner had booked to be taken from our address to Manchester Airport. The driver, once we had started driving, asked where we were from/travelling to. When we told him New Zealand, he asked whether we had cash on us to pay the fare. We told the driver that we had paid on the app already and he insisted that the app would refund the amount to our card and we would have to pay cash as he didn’t have wifi to accept the fare from the card. When we told him that it had always just taken the fare from our card on the lynx app he insisted it would be refunded 100% and wouldn’t give him the money for the work.After some back and forth, the driver pulled over at a cash machine and asked us to withdraw the cost of the fare. My partner got out to look at the cash machine and as we felt so uncomfortable, I stayed in the car as I felt he might drive away with the luggage. My partner told the driver that we could not withdraw as we are international and there are excessive fees and he insisted we could just bank transfer him to his personal account. As we felt uncomfortable, my parter said he would call lynx taxis to check this info and the driver quickly said he would speak with lynx taxi and explain. However, my partner spoke on the phone to which lynx informed him not to give any cash as the card had been charged. Once we had this info, the drivers reasoning for needing cash changed and he said it was because he did not have a card reader machine to charge us despite already being told multiple times, and by lynx taxis, that the card had been charged the fare.Once at the airport, the driver tried to take us to the wrong terminal and then proceeded to drop us on the side of the road near the airport in the snow to walk up. As we were so unnerved by the experience, we got out.Felt unsafe and intimidated! Thank God I was with my partner and not a single female! Absolutely shocking.UPDATE I have contacted them and they have advised me that they do not offer refunds!!! Disgusted.
I booked this company 2 days in advance of a Christmas party to pick me & a friend up from a city centre location and drop us to two separate destinations along the same route. I spoke to someone in person while booking to clarify a definite pick up point and time and was assured I would receive confirmation immediately of the booking, which I did and would be notified when the driver was en route. 20 mins before our pick up time I was advised by text that my driver was on the way so we made our way to the street but an hour later he had not arrived and my calls and texts were unanswered. For 2 females that rarely take the risk of going out in the city centre it was very traumatic to have made the effort to prebook a taxi to ensure we got home safely from a night out, only to find we were stranded with no means of transport home and had to walk for miles to flag a taxi on the street. To date all calls and texts were unanswered. Beware, do not trust this company, particularly if you're a female!! Shame on you
Awful, same experience as woman below. Pre booked a taxi last night using the app for this morning. Currently 27 minutes late. When I rang the same rude woman answered and said “it’s because you’re out the area”.Amazed as I’ve paid in advance and had confirmation.
Wow ! talk about unhelpful, tried to book a taxi for the airport just now and this woman brings a new level to rudeness & she really could not care less - she makes Michael O Leary look like a 'nice guy'. what is wrong with people these days ? if you hate your job that much dont inflict your miserable attitude on genuine potential customers.I found a different company - friendly - understood my needs and booked.
