Review Time
I stepped on my Maui Jim’s coming back from holiday in the airport car park - they fell off my head on to the tarmac..!! I was raging, and expected another £160 to replace them! Contacted MJ who told me to send the shrapnel in for assessment, which I did. For £12 or so, the glasses were sent back, promptly, as new. Superb customer service and highly recommended. I won’t be buying anything other than MJ in any future purchase, and recommend MJ to friends and family whenever the conversation comes round to sunglasses.
After snapping the left hand arm of my wife's sunglasses Maui Jim's repair team effected a swift repair. Even though they were well out of warranty Tony replaced both arms and nose pads and also included a brand new soft case. We experienced an unbelievable level of customer service on this occasion for which we are most grateful. A rare thing indeed these days. Thank you very much.
This is my second review of this company. I gave them 5 stars last time, I would give 10 if available. From a product perspective they are simply the best sunglasses that you will ever try. We now have 12 pairs in our family, some for sports, others for fashion but all for the safety of our eyes and the incredible optics these lenses deliver. As for customer service they are simply world class and above. I have had to return a couple of pairs over the years due to damage and they have always come back like the day I purchased them. Nothing is too much for them. They may not be the cheapest pair of sunglasses you will purchase but once you have worn them you will never go back to inferior sunglasses. Thank You Maui Jim. You are outstanding.
I love my sunglasses. Unfortunately, I stepped on them and needed to send them back in for repair. After a series of confusion, Vickie in Customer Service made it all right. She was polite, positive, and cheerful. Great sunglass, great customer service!
These are optically superior to most other makes, and look great. The frames are bendy and resilient but nevertheless after much abuse an arm broke. I dropped into their office in Guildford uk, they replaced both arms and both nose pads in 4 minutes totally free of charge. They have me as a customer for life!
We sent my wifes Maui's in for a broken arm . Simple easy small charge ( cheap) and 1 week later like new. We have 4 pairs over years , and love the weight lens colour and performance.I gave up my Randolph pilot glass's for these no comparison.I will be a Maui customer for good.

Really great sunglasses. Great polarization for sea/snow glare but lenses break really easily and simply can't keep up with an active lifestyle. Absolutely zero shock absorption in the frame. Been through 3 sets of lenses in 2 years. So they look good, cut out the glare but use for fashion and not for action. Perhaps Maui Jim was a poser sitting on the beach in his deck chair getting a lobster tan!
I was already a huge Maui Jim fan due to the quality of their sunglasses but the outstanding service I received when both my husband and I damaged our glasses has me committed to MJ glasses for life! Our glasses where 3-4 years old, I broke the bridge of mine and my husband scratched his lens. I authorized a charge of approx $180. The glasses were returned in less than week, I was only charged $120 and both pair look absolutely brand new. We are very happy!
My second pair of Maui Jim and I'm afraid my last. Look good, very stylish, very expensive which is fair enough if you think you are getting a quality product. However, shortly after my prescription glasses passed their warranty date, I noticed the lenses looked discoloured and fragmented. I thought at first something had been spilt on them. I cleaned them regularly but later noticed that nothing had changed and it was in fact getting worse. I knew they were out of warranty but Returned them to MauiJim, hoping they would be able to help. They said they couldn't. I asked why and they said "out of warranty" I asked what is the damage to the lens, they said it was a "Bi-Gradient Mirror Coating which was degrading. One might say "well why should they help. The glasses were out of their warranty period" But my contention is that for me, these were expensive glasses, over £500 and I would expect any coating such as this to last a lot longer than a little over two years. It appears to me that like a lot of companies these days obsolescence is built into products, keep the turnover going guys!! Anyway, be very careful if you intend to buy prescription lens sunglasses from Maui Jim. You may be looking for a new pair sooner than you think!!
