I've been a client of Mweb for over 4 years, almost 5 years and recently the service has just been going downhill at a tremendous speed, the wifi is barely working (and even when there are sea cables damaged), they increase the prices. Their excuse is that the providers, such as Openserve, pushed up their prices, so they have to too... eventhough that is NOT AT ALL the case (as if I can't Google or contact Openserve to confirm the validity of Mweb's claim!). Their prices did not increase. Friends who live in the same area and are also with Mweb, dit NOT receive a price increase email - how odd is that?! So why are we receiving a price increase?Don't even bother signing up with them (even if it looks like a good deal - it's too good to be true), because let me tell you why. They increase their prices every 4 or 6 months or as they please, and not annually like other ISP's. I've experienced TWO price increases in less than a year! Also then don't even bother to contact them about it, because you will get some vague and automated response and when you follow up, you will just completely be ignored (no acknowlegement of email, nothing). Last time they said they will offer me a R50 discount monthly, just to push the price up again by R70 in the next two months. Terrible! We're now looking at other ISP options instead as Mweb has clearly broken our trust and one would have thought being a loyal subscriber to them would go a long way, clearly it doesn't.
I have paid R550 via Eft using the banking details that i got from their monthly statement that they always sent to me, then to my surprised after 7days my account was suspended due to “i did not pay” i had to pay AGAIN via paylink that i got after i fought for it for the whole day, then i was told that i am gonna get refunded my R550 that i paid via Eft, i sent them a proof of payment,id copy and bank statement, but still today I haven’t received my refund, when i call them, they drop the call on my ear. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone ✋, they are pathetic ✋, 1 star is not even good for them.
When the internet hit South Africa back in the 1990’s I was one of the first to sign up for an Mweb domain. But 4 years down the line, things changed and I discovered better options.Today, nearly 25 years later, I realised why Afrihost and the others are still better than Mweb.It all started with a domain name, which I wanted. But I couldn’t get it for reasons I don’t want to share. The alternative was to transfer the domain, and apply for a hosting package with Mweb. After battling for a few tries to get the OTP, I opted to use a different number. I received the OTP and proceeded to place the order.Since I have my own webhosting company, I was surprized to see I could not access my account immediately after checkout. But I guess not everyone is fast.A few hours later, and the order was still “processing” although the domain was “active”.9 hours later and I decided to log a Query. The screen looks like this:Now try to select an option. It’s like catching a fly in the dark. It just does not work. After abondoning Mission Impossible 1, I decided to call them. Oh my word! Mission Impossible 2.After the 5th try, pretending to be a new customer, the phone was answered. I almost expected the caller to say “Welcome at Home Affairs”.In the process, I received an SMS to say the bank account verification process failed.Speaking to the operator, who tried her best to stay positive, working for a place like Mweb, I learned that the Number on the bank’s records, must match the one on my Mweb account.Since I used two numbers just to place the order, I was no longer sure which number the bank had on record, but after checking, it was the one, that Mweb refused to send the OTP to.So I tried to call again. Mission Impossible 3.Now, I am at the point where I desperately need some clown in this circus to call me, so I can ask them just to close my account and crawl back into the cave they came from.I tried contacting them on Facebook, Mission Impossible 4.I tried contact them via Hellopeter.com. Mission in progress. But one thing is for sure. Mweb will not get my business until they are nicely grown up, finished learning how business works, and waited until the first man walks on Saturn. Until then, they do not exist.
Terrible... Waiting for three days for someone to answer the phone no joyNoone can tell what are the correct forms for change of ownership when an individual person is deceasedNo one is prepared to help just send from person to personNo internet for 5 daysAt this stage just stop the debit order then I would get some form of response
It is almost impossible to get a hold of customer service. Tried to get an upgrade on my internet package provided by MWEB. I was told it can't be done as l don't have Fibre in my area which is completely untrue as the are my internet provider and we have Fibre. They clearly don't care about keeping customers after l suggested cancelation. Was told by the sales agent that l must go ahead and cancel. So after spending over an hour trying to get a resolution l ended up canceling their over priced service. As you can see by the ratings in the reviews this is not a company l will ever recommend. Shocking.
Mweb failed to provide the correct line speed and have not resolved the issue after multiple phone calls and complaints. I want to cancel their service as their customer care is non existent and their service is some of the worst I have ever experienced.
