I had Nikon 400mm f2.8 that required a new autofocus motor. The repair service organised the pick-up and after only 10 days I had my lens back working better than ever. The customer service was excellent and kept me informed at every step of the journey. Probably the best customer service experience I've had with any company
I was not happy after delaying by about 3 or 4 years sending my DSLR D5300 camera back to Nikon to have the screen repaired. It was a twist screen which stopped functioning about two years after I bought the camera. I contacted Nikon support recently and was told how to send the camera back to them free - to repair. they estimated between £32 and £282 for the repair and surprise - surprise it cost £282 to repair - which struck me as duplicitous at the time. Why give such a wide range of estimate - only to confirm the most expensive option? I agreed - and then discovered on Backmarket the same camera - refurbished for about £248. I said I would like a discount and am awaiting the verdict from Nikon - but I am not a happy bunny. I said I would probably not be buying a Nikon again if refused.
My camera had a fault and was out of warranty. All the necessary details online were completed and the camera sent off. Estimate was agreed but there seemed to be a delay in the repair even though I am a Nikon NPS member but this was down to a parts supply issue - expensive camera needing brain surgery. Turns out my NPS membership hadn't been connected to the repair but I have to say that Nikon dealt with this superbly and a loan camera was sent out to me immediately and the repaired camera followed very soon afterwards. I cannot fault Nikon for service on this occasion.
My Nikkor 500mm f4e lens was returned from its repair by Nikon Service in the Netherlands still unable to focus. (So zero stars for Nikon EU!) However, Jana and Katie at UK service support ensured that the repair was completed quickly and successfully (this time by Fixation). The mark of a good organisation is not so much that they get everything right but that they react quickly to resolve problems. Their quick (and relatively stress free) resolution was much appreciated.
I use my 70-300 lens a lot and I was very sad when the bayonet mount broke. Nikon, however, were amazing and they sorted a like-new repair for a very reasonable amount. I have the satisfaction of knowing the repair is as good as new - and made with original quality parts.
I annoyingly lost the battery door cover on my Nikon Zf. My local Nikon shop pointed me in the direction of Nikon Spares UK, so I sent them an email. They answered same day, by the evening I had a quote and a link to order online and 2 days later I had the part I needed. I ended up buying 2 so I have a spare.I was really impressed with the level of service and how quickly I got my part. One very happy customer.
