I bought an elliptical for almost $3,000, and after a few months, it started making strange noises. I had a warranty, so I contacted support. Their responses were very slow. Eventually, they sent a part and a technician, but it turned out the part wasn’t needed at all. The technician came and supposedly fixed my elliptical, but five months later, the issue reappeared. I contacted support again, and they made me disassemble the elliptical, record everything on video, and take photos. After I sent them the video, they didn’t believe me and requested a new video showing the recording date. This is just ridiculous. In the end, they said they would send a technician again, but wouldn’t repair it because they couldn’t get the part a second time! This is terrible! Just think about it, they sold me a defective machine and basically can’t help me. This is the worst company and the worst service I’ve ever experienced. I deeply regret not buying a machine from another brand and falling for their advertising. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
The iFit software that ships with both bikes and treadmillls is some of the worst I have ever come across. A forced update was recently rolled out, full of bugs and with a regression in functionality. Almost every feature is behind a paywall. Want to watch Netflix on your treadmill? You’ll need to pay a fee. Want to see your speed while you’re walking or running. Sorry, that feature is broken. Truly awful. Avoid at all costs.
I bought an iFit spin bike a few years ago. I am an active cyclist and have previously owned other spin bikes. The Nordictrack spin bike I purchased has never been ergonomically correct to comfortably ride for any length of time, even though it has lots of adjustment options. The Android based iFit control panel just failed do to an apparent software issue and will not boot up. I contacted NordicTracks support and they do not have a solution to fix the issue as the controller is 9 months beyond this products support window and service life. They compared it to a mobile device as disposable tech and offered no solutions or opportunities to replace or upgrade to a new machine for a fee. The bike cannot even function manually as the controller must be functioning to even manage the resistance.
X32i treadmill = $3600 piece of garbage. Our original one that we bought 2 years ago had the frame crack. Only user is a 140 pound person. They acted surprised and sent a new one out under warranty. Here we are, one year later and the frame cracked again. Since it was a replacement machine, it has no warranty. Obviously this is a problem and Nordictrac doesn’t stand behind their product. There are $1000 treadmills out there that last longer than these piles of junk. You pay for the name and I’m not sure why that is worth anything anymore. Lots of 1 star reviews. Wish I checked those before I bought it. Never again.
So, I’ve tried a few exercise machines like an exercise bike and stepper etc.But I’ve always found the biggest issue being ‘distraction’. It’s always difficult to get motivated to go on them in the first place and it’s easy to get distracted by other things and leave the exercise after 20-25 mins.I should also add I’m a not a big fan of running. I’ve never ran.So, you would think that I’m not the best match for a treadmill running machine. Right? Surprisingly, wrong. Here’s the rub, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised.Previously, I’d watch a series or YouTube etc whilst exercising. And this is where the NordicTrack works its magic. At first i thought from the pictures, i don’t want that big screen when i have a large iPad or wondered whether it would play what’s on your iPhone and iPad. And this is where i was mistaken; it’s exactly what you need.First of all, i was concerned that the fitness programmes wouldn’t be interesting enough to watch until the end etc. However, it’s a much better approach than a standard phone or tablet. The athletes talk you though the whole programme and the views are stunning. I immediately wanted to do a second programme straight away after the first. And you can pick your favourite trainers too.And the next surprise which amplifies this further, is the moving treadmill. I’d opted for this, not realising that during the video programme workouts, as you go up a hill, it automatically moves to that incline and vice versa when coming down. Wow, i wasn’t expecting this. Such variety, automatically is definitely the way ahead and what’s been missing from workout machines generally. Why aren’t they all like this? After my first programme, i left the machine with a big smile on my face, looking forward to the next workout. And i don’t think I’ve ever had that experience before. If you’re debating about acquiring the x22i or x32i, don’t. They only debate you should be having is how many you’ll buy (one for upstairs and one for downstairs?). NTUK12240374
I had an issue with my treadmill frame, it had cracked, it had to be replaced meaning the whole machine. The process was easy to maneuver and the customer service was outstanding. The people I spoke to made the whole thing easy. After I submitted the requested photos, videos, and documents I was told they would not only be sending me a new machine but an upgrade from what I currently had since they no longer made the one I had. Of course I then had to wait for delivery for multiple weeks and was given no warning about when it would be delivered. I wish they arranged to remove the old broken one, and assemble the new one but I suppose I should just be happy they honored the warranty to replace it. But disposing of a broken machine is never convenient.
