I’ve been a loyal fan of Oliver Cabell for years, owning seven pairs of the Low 1s in various styles. Their Italian craftsmanship was second to none, and I was happy to invest in shoes that felt and looked exceptional. However, my recent purchases have been nothing short of disappointing. The Low 1 Ocean seemed slightly off, but I brushed it aside, thinking it was just a different style. Then came the Low 1 Off White—and the truth became clear. The leather no longer feels luxurious but cheap, almost plastic-like, reminiscent of something you’d find in a bargain bin. It lacks the beautiful matte finish and natural wrinkling of my earlier pairs. After some digging, I discovered the shift in manufacturing from Italy to Vietnam. While I understand the need to manage costs, the lack of transparency feels like a betrayal. The brand maintained the same premium price while quietly cutting corners—an unethical approach that sacrifices trust for profit. If they’d been upfront about raising prices to maintain quality, I would’ve gladly paid more. Instead, they’ve lost a once-loyal customer. A warning to anyone considering these shoes now: they’re not what they used to be.This is a fall from grace, and it stings to see a brand I loved take such a disappointing turn.
Purchased a pair, they sent me a damaged pair. I asked them to refund me completely and they denied my request / ignored my emails for months. I finally got a return offered after calling my bank and filing a claim against them, to which they had to reply. They offered to give me store credit only after the claim. I emailed them for days when they had an active promotion discounting their products and they only provided me with the code after the sale ended. I finally was able to order the same shoe that was sent over damaged and they sent me a demo prototype version of the shoe, and had the balls to tell me that it's the same version! They are uncooperative, petty liars and code their website to remove all one-star reviews.
I ordered the Low 1 in navy sea salt. However, I don't know if these sneakers ever existed. I pre-ordered them in March 2024 with shipping planned for September 2024. They never shipped. Customer service then told me they would ship in November 2024. However, by December I had heard nothing. Customer service then told me they were sold out. Meanwhile they are still selling on the website. Based on these reviews I don't know if I'll ever receive my refund. Buyer beware!
Like the rest of you, I ordered the product “Red Driver Women EU size 39” , and after I received the confirmation email, it listed as US9. And I emailed right away to make a change and remind them its EU size 39 for women. They replied within a day and said US9 same as EU39. Which of course we know this is not the case. Anyhow, I received the shoe and its a men size EU39, which on the custom form and wrote Men Shoe. The shoes quality do looks $100 but not mentioning of location made in, country of origin. If its for $80, you may want to go for it. Afterall, its not an alibaba product.
Warning. Stay away. My son received another product than the one he ordered and they refuse to give him a refund. Customer support is a joke. It’s extremely slow and their answers unspecific to the point I think they are deliberately delaying. More than three months later my son doesn’t have what he ordered and payed for.
Have been purchasing the Low 1 white shoe for years. I've owned at least 5 or 6 of them. Wow was I shocked to get the most recent pair... Everything - and I mean everything - has been replaced with cheap garbage. The shoe is a far cry from the original in every way possible. Interior lining, exterior construction, shape of the toe box, tongue... They went from Italian craftsmanship to a third world assembly line and it shows. Even the box it came in and the shoe bag (not that it really matters) looked and felt cheap. When you pinch on product, it doesn't matter how much you spend on remarketing, discounts, "conversion" costs... the real hidden cost of customer loss is when a brand makes such a critical mistake with their core offering. I would've gladly paid $50-75 more with transparency on cost increases to get the same product... If you are looking for a shoe that used to be in line with Common Projects and other high end sneakers - sadly it seems that Oliver Cabell's time has (hopefully temporarily) come to an end.
