Deceiving Online Ordering of 2nd discounted pair of shoes

I just made an online purchase. After I received my confirmation, a screen came up and offered more shoes for $40 less- I wanted to look at one (and possibly wanted in different size). I hit accept to view the sneaker. Instead of going in the cart to view the pricing, I was automatically charged for it. I also have no idea what size this “second” pair is since I was never given option to view and choose. I want to cancel the second pair of sneakers but am unable to get customer service to respond. Very deceiving ordering system!

Disappointed

Beware of Oliver Cabell Low 1sI recently bought another pair of Oliver Cabell Low 1s and was so disappointed. The first pair I bought was great, they last me 6 years of occasional wear. Great quality and a good price (originally $175 in 2018 I looked back in my email). After comparing the two, they are completely different shoes. All they share is the same name. No longer a leather interior of the shoe, a different sole, a much wider shoe, no longer made in Italy (although my original pair was made in Spain), no shoe trees included, the list could go on and on. Sadly the shoes have turned into a junk pair of Vietnamese shoes that could be sold at Walmart for $60. The shoe for some time was priced at $275 then dropped to $200. Which I thought was weird but can now see why. I would much rather pay $275 for the original made in Italy full leather sneaker. Being in the Private Equity industry I knew there had to only be one explanation for this and I was right after calling around. The company now is backed by a family office. Have to make 20% IRR somehow! Butchering a great shoe is just the outcome.

I am beyond disappointed with the…

I am beyond disappointed with the loafers I received. They are NOTHING like the picture advertised. The product photo showed sleek, high-quality leather loafers, but what arrived was a pair of poorly made, cheap-looking shoes made from what feels like low-grade, flimsy leather. The fit is atrocious—completely off from the size chart provided. They’re uncomfortable, with awkward stitching and a lack of support. These loafers look and feel like they were slapped together with no attention to detail. This is false advertising at its worst. I trusted the product description and images, only to be thoroughly let down. Do yourself a favor and avoid this purchase at all costs. I’ve learned my lesson—never again!

What happened???

I ordered a new pair of Low 1 and to my surprise they are very different from the pair I bought few years ago. They look cheaper, they feel cheaper, they weight cheaper, they smell cheaper… they ARE cheaper, but at the same price! The new mesh lining won’t last as the previous leather one, the leather is half of the thickness, the outsole feels same as market shoes, the inner sole is now synthetic (?) instead of leather, the laces are way different (they were waxed which was a nice touch), no more travel bag, even the box is cheaper (😅) and the shoes are now made in Vietnam… basically a 50€ pair of shoes overpriced to 200€!I was super happy and satisfied with my previous pair that I place the new order without hesitations and man if I was wrong!Too late I found reviews on trust pilot!I won’t return them just because I had to pay 85€ of custom duties.

Customer Service

I was charged $195.68 on my card, never received a receipt or email confirmation. Customer service was very responsive and researched my issue. I had misspelled the email address but they confirmed the shipping address was correct.I don’t have the product yet but I am very grateful for the customer service I received. Thank you!

tl;dr Stay away from this brand!

tl;dr Stay away from this brand!I am also sorry that I found this page after I had put in my order. I wanted to buy the shoes for an occasion, and based on the 3-5 day shipping, I felt there was plenty of time for them to arrive on time. Well, based on reading the reviews, I don’t think anyone ever has had their shoes shipped on time - as you can imagine, this is the case for me too. Since I won’t get the for the occasion, I buy a different pair and ask for my order to be cancelled. I get a response from a polite person, who keeps stalling, until she tells me fine, we’ll cancel and give you back your money.. Few days later however, she comes back saying that it’s now impossible to cancel because the shoes were in the fulfilment center?? They weren’t when I initially wanted to cancel! The funny thing is that they’re still not shipped.. Sorry to bore you with my story.

Don't be fooled by product pictures!

I also read these reviews too late and bought GATs based on previous knowledge of the brand and the photos displayed on the product page (unbranded, leather lined, rubber sole, supposedly made in Italy). These photos are deceiving and the current model is branded, lined with fabric, with EVA soles and definitely not made in Italy (only one photo portraying these). My fault for not properly reading the product description - which is accurate - but i find it not ok to display misleading pictures. My review is not 1 star because I immediately contacted customer support which was helpful, understanding, and prompt in cancelling the order and issuing a refund. Props to them.In summary, buy only if you know what you are purchasing

Warning for Oliver Cabell

I bought the shoes for an address in Virginia that my husband visited for a conference. I bought express delivery for an extra cost of 19 dollars. The shipment was delayed (my husband had to fly home to Sweden). I was in contact with Oliver Cabell who referred me to UPS which cannot be contacted and when you do get contact, it's standard responses that don't lead to help. A day and a half after the delivery time, the package is delivered to the wrong address. I don't understand how that is possible? We had hope to get the shoes to Sweden since a college of my husband promised to take them. But they deliver to a person at an adress with ompletely wrong zip code. I get no help from either Oliver Cabell or UPS. I feel so cheated. My son had been saving up for these shoes for a long time. Warning for the company! The order (593283) is on my husband Mr Claes Eliasson, and I have been in contact with you a lot of times; Anna Jenny Nilsdotter Eliasson. I send you an email about this matter on Friday, still now answer.

Worst customer service/ experience of…

Worst customer service/ experience of any online or bricks and mortar business.Wrong purchase was a result of their flawed system. Yet company would not take ownership or accountability. Same talking points, policy we can’t do anything crap.. multiple times!! If they can’t do anything who can, Santa?? Just mind numbing ! Stay away understand why 61% of reviews are 1sThis is the 4th or 5th time “you’ve looked into this” and NO it doesn’t clarify and again you have missed the point!!!I hit women’s Camo shoe online and rather than saying sold out ( or whatever ( in Women’s)it flipped the screen to Men’s without me noticing and thinking I got Women’s show. Your response ( now the 4th or 5th time, not acknowledging your system flaw, taking accountability and just saying yes we will take them back, confirms you may have the worst customer service in retail, with vacuous responses. I change my rating to a Zero!!!
