Run, don’t walk, away from this company

1. Update: my opinion and review of the company still stands. However, I was impressed with the professionalism of the Customer Support person I spoke with after I asked the Operator to call the 1800 number.2. After reading these reviews and the responses from the PetsPlus company, I immediately tried to cancel my new policy. The 1 800 number for Canada does not work - tried 3 times over the last 10 days. 3 emails sent over 1 and a half weeks have gone unanswered. However, the first payment for the policy was withdrawn from my bank account 2 days after I set up the policy. Clearly, money not service and the health of pets is the company priority despite all the sugary sentiments expressed about love of pets.

Runaround Reimbursement

I have been with them for 10 years. The last year has been terrible, up until then I had no complaints. Last year I waited 6 months for a reimbursement and was given the total runaround...I was told the cheque is in the mail twice, nope. I then tried direct deposit, I was told it had been sent twice, nope. I finally got my cheque after 6 months and 17 emails. I am now waiting for another reimbursement...it's been 3 months. Their turn around used to be 10-15 calendar days, now it says 20-25...it's more like 120-125 days. If I didn't have a senior dog I would be done with them but unfortunately I'm stuck with them.

The worst insurance you can ever get

The worst insurance you can ever get. Our beloved pet got admitted to the hospital and hospital bill turned out to be over 9K and our insurance reimbursement was only $1,800.00. Considering that we have been a loyally client for 15 years. To all pet owners, please do not get this insurance. It is a total disaster.

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS PET INSURANCE COMPANY.Look at all the 1 star reviews. Their 1-800 number isn't even answered. We can not even get an answer regarding our dog that requires emergency surgery. They promise everything, and deliver nothing. Again see all the reviews. We need to stop supporting this illegitimate company. Pure fraudAnyone interested in class action lawsuit?

Shifty Pet Insurance Company

We purchased 2 insurance plans for our dogs with PetsPlusUs a few weeks ago through our Costco membership. 3 weeks later and we are cancelling this. Beware.The exclusions came back wrong and questionable. The first email excluded my male from allergy-related conditions when he has never had any allergies at all. It was my female that had some allergies in her eyes. After calling them, I was instructed I had to wait to hear back from them after they reviewed our telephone conversation from when we signed up so they could hear if we mentioned him having allergies! I have also sent them all their medical records plus the vets sent them the records as well I found out. PPU said if it was us who said he had allergies, we'd have to get the vet to write to them to clear up the issue. If it was the PPU agent who made the error, they would take care of it. Well, we waited for their response which they said would be a couple of days but we never heard back from them.Then I received the email today for the exclusions for my female and had another issue. She once had a sebaceous (fatty) cyst so they now have excluded her from any cyst, mass or lump going forward. The cyst was back in 2021 and had completely healed. The response I received was to complete an online form and include new medical information so they can review their decision. There's nothing new to send. It's an indicator of what to expect from them. One benign cyst should not exclude a pet from ever having coverage for another cyst, lump, or mass. Each cyst is a seperate issue unless it's a cluster. If she were to develop a cancerous mass, that wouldn't be covered because she had a pimple once? WTAF! I've worked in healthcare and know a lot about the medical field.Dear PetsPlusUs: I just cancelled both plans. Your loss as I had them on an expensive plan of $150/month each. After reading through the negative comments here and on other platforms I am so glad I cancelled before they could get $1 of my money. Better customer service would have landed them my $300/mth with the 2 healthy 6 yr old dogs I have. What a disgrace! We all love our pets and buy insurance for peace of mind. Someone should tell PetsPlusUs that.Now watch them respond with a copy and paste response.I suggest doing your research well before purchasing pet insurance.

A trustworthy company

A trustworthy company, Petplus US helped me covered the emergency expenses when my cat had congested heart failure and ultrasound heart scan and each re-visit of cardiologist, saved me a significant amount of money. However, I wasn't satisfied with their review process for temporary exclusion. Even though my other cat was perfectly fine, they wouldn't waive the exclusion. I ended up having to pay for another blood and urine tests. With the assistance of my veterinarian, I obtained a "no exclusion" insurance policy from another company.

It would be zero stars if it was an…

It would be zero stars if it was an option. Literally the biggest rip off. I paid into this for 2 years and was never reimbursed a red cent. Final straw was end of November when my dog ended up with an ear infection. Took him to the vet and when answering questions mentioned he had been to a grooming appointment a few days before. I ended up with a $375 vet bill and zero coverage from Pet Plus. I immediately cancelled the policy and signed up with Fetch.

Every penny covered in such times is a burden lifted.Handling Previous Conditions: They had previously assisted with a skin condition, efficiently handling the costs post a $100 deductible. Their consistent support is commendable.The financial aspect, though crucial, pales in comparison to the emotional support they provided. On December 1st, as I was racing against time to get Thunder to the hospital, I called Pet Plus Us minutes before closing. A representative stayed on the line with me until all financial discussions with the hospital’s care coordinator were settled. This gesture of staying beyond working hours to assist a worried pet owner exemplifies their exceptional customer service.My gratitude towards Pet Plus Us is immense. Their coverage goes beyond transactions; it's about compassion and understanding the bond we share with our pets. They have not only provided financial support but have also given me peace of mind, ensuring that I can focus on what matters most - Thunder’s health and well-being.To any pet owner seeking a dependable and empathetic insurance partner, I wholeheartedly recommend Pet Plus Us. Pure Fraud !

I paid for almost a year of coverage for my dog. I've only had one claim, $120 worth of medication at the vet and they refused it. They tried to bury me under piles of papers, ask for his medical records from birth to date to discourage me, then refused. It's fraudulent. A year's worth of money wasted. In short, don't subscribe.
