Whether you are a runner or not this is the best place for Pilates sessions and advice. Liz is so down to earth and provides short sessions to target strength and mobility, and generally improve your posture. There are live sessions and pre-recorded ones too. Whatever your current fitness you'll find options for easier or more challenging versions of the exercise, with many exercises aimed at beginners or improvers. There are also sessions using weights (with a qualified teacher), rehab sessions, optional challenges and a monthly Q&A for one to one advice. Liz is constantly in touch and always available for help either via the app or by email and is very supportive. I've tried a number of Pilates sites and this is by far the best, not only for the Pilates content but for being a wonderfully friendly and supportive community. There's such a lot to discover on this site, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go.
The app is super easy to use and navigate to do bite size sessions when i'm time poor or longer sessions when i can. Since using Pilatesfor Runners consistently i have noticed i get less niggles and any niggles are ironed out quite swiftly with a few focussed sessions from here, so have definitely noticed far less injuries and niggles taking me out of running. I also feel noticeably stronger when i'm running as well. You can do focus area sessions or challenges when you want a good range, takes the thinking out it.
I learned about Pilates for runners at the running show in Jan 24. I did a trial stability class there, which was really challenging. Which proved to me this was something I needed to work on. I took up the special show offer and joined for a year's membership. Two years on I am still really loving the sessions, and have currently completed 60 consecutive days of Pilates through liz’s sessions. It is just brilliant; challenging; easy to fit in;fresh ideas and delivered in an authentic, cheerful but professional manner. Trainers of Liz’s quality are not found easily, so well done Liz. I am really benefiting from the sessions and enjoying them. Also looking forward to the show this weekend. Keep up the great work Liz, it’s much appreciated. Thank you Liz.
I love the videos which really help me to target the areas I need to work on as well as the monthly challenges to keep me motivated. Well explained and demonstrated moves, often with different levels to fit where I'm working now, which go at a pace I can easily keep up with. There are also live sessions twice a week. I haven't made it to a live session online but joined in with one at The Running Show a few years ago. A great, supportive community feel and well worth the subscription. First came across Pilates for Runners at the National Running Show last year….then checked out the free sessions on YouTube.After a bit of humming and haa-ing, I took the plunge and signed up for a year’s membership.Liz is an outstanding teacher. Her wonderful, generous and kind personality shines through in her teaching. Liz’s attention to detail and knowledge is amazing. As is her energy.The Pilates for Runners app is easy to navigate and contains a wealth of sessions. Monthly challenges are fab and are a great way to keep the motivation going. The live sessions are great.The benefits of doing regular Pilates sessions are quite eye opening. Movement is medicine. Pilates is now a way of life for me. Hand in hand with running. I have been using Liz's app for almost 2 years now, having initially come across her free content online. The free content is great, but accessing the app and the Pilates for Runners community has taken the experience to the next level. The live sessions each week are fantastic, and Liz always asks participants to let her know if there are particular areas they would like her to give more time to. Liz often asks for feedback and uses this to make sure that her offer suits the needs of users. I think this offers brilliant value for money and have recommended Pilates for Runners to many running (and non-running) friends. I should add that Liz's presentation style is relaxed, with some humour, whilst also explaining why the exercises you are doing will support your running.
Would thoroughly recommend this app to runners at any stage (and I frequently do!). Liz seems to have a knack for finding muscles I didn’t even know existed. Then she makes them stronger so I can keep running injury-free. The sheer amount of content in the App is mind boggling but easy to navigate, so you can free-style your sessions or use any of the structured programs. Then you can dip into the community for encouragement or queries. This is absolutely worth every penny. You won’t regret it.
Liz has changed my running experience completely! After 2 hip replacements, I thought my running days were over, but Pilates for Runners has enabled me to feel stronger, fitter and run more consistently without pain. Her sessions are never complicated and she explains things well. I love the different length sessions from 5 minutes to an hour which means I can fit something in every day and always feel better for it. Liz is always there to encourage and support and it's fantastic value. Thank you, Liz!
