This system is utterly frustrating!

To begin with, the wording in this box feels like medical gaslighting. "What went wrong this time?" This system is a complete disaster! I need to see a doctor, yet I've been told to wait 1 to 2 days for a response! I've been dealing with this issue for nearly 4 weeks! People are going to be severely neglected with such a flawed system in place! It continually directs everyone to emergency services, which are already overwhelmed and will now face an influx of individuals who simply need to see their general practitioner, but your system is turning that into a nightmare!

Complete disaster

To begin with, the phrasing in this box feels like medical gaslighting! "What went wrong this time?" This system is an absolute farce! I need to see a doctor, yet I have to wait 1 to 2 days to be contacted! I've been dealing with this issue for almost 4 weeks! People are going to be seriously neglected with this ridiculous system in place! It constantly directs everyone to emergency services, which are already overwhelmed, leading to even more people needing to see their GP, but this flawed system makes it a nightmare!

Terrible system designed to complicate

A dreadful system that complicates getting an appointment as much as possible. It consumes staff time, excludes the vulnerable or those who cannot use or afford technology, and even with tech, it takes half an hour to fill out forms with useless details just to get an appointment with a doctor you didn't even want to see... Do I really need to explain my stool issues if my arm is sore? And what if I want to keep something confidential?

Poorly designed system

This system is poorly designed. It doesn't ask why you want to see your doctor. The first medical question just asks for your main symptom. I can't find anywhere to indicate that I was advised to make an appointment if symptoms did not improve, nor how to describe multiple symptoms like high temperature and nausea. Every time I use it, I feel stressed and leave thinking I haven't adequately explained why I need to see a doctor. So I end up calling the surgery to re-explain my symptoms. Also, when it does schedule an appointment, it's unclear how to confirm it.

Who thought of this?

Who came up with this idea? It might be one of the worst decisions in decades. It's great if you want an appointment in three weeks. I used to be able to call and see a doctor within hours, but now, suddenly, they're so busy that it takes weeks. What a joke! They need to sort this out.

Completely unacceptable system

This system is absolutely unacceptable. I have severe allergic reactions and breathing issues, yet I have to wait three weeks for a 'rash' appointment.

Dehumanizing AI system - not suitable

None of the older patients in line knew anything about this system forced upon us. Not everyone has access to a computer, smartphone, or even email. The staff at the GP surgery had to fill out online forms for us, which took them away from more important tasks. It also stripped us (the digitally 'illiterate') of our agency. After being told 'computer says NO,' I wrote a real letter detailing my symptoms, and within hours, I got an appointment and am now being 'fast-tracked' through the system. So, 10 out of 10 for the human beings. 'Rapid' health triage is a joke—a long-winded, tick-box, clunky system that's not fit for purpose. Please inform your MPs about this terrible system so questions can be raised in parliament.

So far, so good

Our surgery implemented this system yesterday. I was able to book a routine appointment for myself and my daughter without any issues. There was a minor hiccup when I tried to book an additional specialist appointment with another doctor, as it wanted to send me to triage instead of offering an appointment. I didn't submit it because the questions asked didn't align with my needs. So, I called the surgery, and they booked it for me. Everything went well, and I have the appointments I needed.

RapidHealth is awful!

I am currently in the process of switching to a new practice that assures me they do not and will not use this booking system. Since the introduction of this system, accessing healthcare at my current practice has been impossible.

Completely absurd idea

This is a completely absurd idea. It further dilutes and degrades the NHS, putting patients at risk. I am told by AI that I am not classified as a high enough priority and may have to wait four days to be assessed. This is highly problematic and dangerous from a patient’s perspective, opening the NHS up to potential lawsuits. Ultimately, who is responsible for any negligence claims here? The NHS or the outsourced AI?
