Review Time
We purchased 2 new sofas from the Alston range in Jan 22. Sales process was great with a very patient and helpful Jas. After delivery in the summer the material quickly deteriorated. After contacting Jas she took ownership and liaised with the manufacturer who agreed to replace the sofas. We’ve had some teething problems getting the replacement but it’s here now and looks amazing. Throughout the process Jas took full ownership of any issues and patiently dealt with rectifying things. She was always upfront and kept us advised of what was going on. Whilst it would have been great to have the issues resolved a little quicker, ultimately it was all sorted to our satisfaction. She’s a real credit to the shop and we would certainly buy from Richard F McKay in the future and seek Jas out to help us with future purchases.
I got a Harrison bed from Richard MacKays. It bore no resemblance to the bed I lay on in the shop. The bed delivered was far firmer, 2 inches higher and had a horrible smell from the mattress. Harrison’s say there are no issues with the bed. I feel MacKays have totally mis-sold me this bed as I was not told by the salesman the bed would be so different from the one I tried out in the shop. Had I been told I would definitely not have bought this bed.
Excellent and efficient delivery two sofas, not a easy job to get in door.Steven and Garry made it look so easy. These young men were well mannered and a treat to have in your home. I am a senior citizen and I felt safe in their company.
Bought a suite in clearance sale £1960. Sold as old stock. This suite came with issues which made me suspect it had been pre-owned. This ofcourse was denied by the store manager. He and sales man contradicted each other withthe origin of the suite. I would not recommend this store to anyone. My very negative experience is all I have to go on if ever this store is mentioned to me. Buyer beware! my findings were a Ripped base canvas,(store repaired) very dirty base even although sofa was on castors. Then I find hair clips, hair and biscuit crumbs down the sides of sofa. There were no removable fire tags as is usual on new furniture. My advice to store is listen to your customer. Stop being robot like with your sales pitch. You could not listen to my complaint without trying to sell me something more expensive (with discount)as way of customer care. Shameful. My consumer rights were ignored.
We first ordered a complete suite of new bedroom furniture then two Stressless chairs for our sitting room. The furniture all arrived when promised (much sooner in the case of the bedroom furniture) and is very high quality. In both cases the salesperson was Jas Singh. She is very helpful, professional and knowledgeable and we were very happy with her.
From the point of visiting the store to choosing suite, being shown the vast array of fabric I could choose from to ordering was all carried out in a friendly and professional way, thank you Darren Jack. Special mention must go to Steven & Neil the delivery drivers, 5 stars to them both. Both of them arrived, removed the old suite, built the new one and removed all packaging with a happy smile on their faces. Credit to them for their politeness and happy faces, especially since it was a Monday morning delivery, keep up the good work 😊
Just taken delivery of two large items of furniture which were delivered on time and also delivered with care by Bobby and Dale. Both guys were very courteous and helpful, taking the time to ensure that everything was undamaged and then placed in the room exactly as required. A very positive experience from start to finish with exemplary customer service.
One star is only way I could get to make this review -100 stars more like what they deserve.Ordered and paid for a chair to be delivered in 10 to 12 weeks. Now 16 weeks later still no chair. After complaining to day it seems it's everyone is to blame but them right down to the manufacturer of the cloth.Not my first purchase from this company but definitely my last. 3/11/23Chair finally delivered after nearly 6 months. Eight weeks ago told chair was ready but it had solid feet and not castors so back it went. Replacement arrived today and delivery men were very careful and on time.Thanks to them.
