Review Time
I have purchased several things over the years from Ruby Lane, and have always had a good experience. They have good communication after a purchase, and the sellers I have purchased from seem to as well. They have a great filtering process for searching, and several purchasing options.
I ordered and paid for a chair several weeks ago and my main complaint for this company is a lack of communication which causes trust issues for me. To begin with the sale showed that it was still pending for a few weeks. I emailed the store owner and it was not until I complained to Ruby Lane and threatened to cancel my order that I got a reply. They did send an email the day they shipped the chair asking for a telephone number. I replied with my number. The tracking code number they sent me does not work so I have been unable to track the shipment. I have emailed the company twice asking for information but have had no reply. I was in Guatemala when they shipped the chair and now I'm afraid I may have missed the delivery. I don't know how to reach out to the shipping company for information without the correct shipping number. I've never had problems like this when buying online. I have purchased from ebay, Cherish, Etsy and Ruby Lane in the past.
Ruby Lane used to be a stellar platform for high-end antique and vintage jewelry. It all changed when they moved Palmer to COO. Under his supervision the platform started hosting multiple sales a year, demanding the seller list a specific number of items at 50% off in order to list items at a lower discount rate; while Ruby Lane kept their commissions the same. As their company faltered, rather than go back to their original platform ideas, they imposed a $40 monthly fee to their shop owners. Ruby Lane is like all other “woke” companies-they go so far left they cant get out of their hole. This platform has lost many good sellers as well as buyers-while attracting the “discount bargain” buyers-who want to complain and return items. Ruby Lane is no longer the platform it used to be. Great job Palmer. You have managed to crumble a great platform into a bargain basement red tag sale.
