Avoid buying anything from here. I was unfortunately scammed, bought an item, given a fake tracking number and the shop not responding to emails and no support from Shopify, they just don’t care that their platform is full of scammers.The shop I was scammed from nelyanada.myshopify.comThey are now selling scooters for over £200, I hope no one is scammed that much, I was only £15.
Someone is using my details with Shopify as I am receiving texts from Shopify. I have tried to make contact with Shopify only to be told that I have to set up an account before I can contact Shopify Support. I don't have account nor do I wish to so certainly don't want to give them more of my details just to make a complaint. Live chat sends you round the houses only to end up back at the same place. Absolutely useless!!! Would never use nor recommend Shopify for lack of support of private data use!
Trying to report a scamming website that is using Shopify to scam people is a nightmare. I sent them an email and got an automated response saying they no longer support incoming messages and to open a support ticket. I had to open an account to open a ticket, and I selected the option to be updated on the report. Nearly one month later, no update on the report and the website is still active, so they're still assisting scammers on their platform because it also earns them money from having a scammer paying for a website. Absolutely disgusting.
We have been with the same e-commerce platform for about 8 years ( one of their competitors) and we have never really had the sales that we expected, so we decided to look at running two sites and see which one performed best.This is what made us decide to try out Shopify, and initially we were impressed with a number of integrations and clever design, but that's where the positives ended ( warning it's a bit of a horror story).We had two stage authentication set up to protect our website and then our company mobile phone died, so we contacted all of our supply partners and they managed to reset 2 stage within 10 minutes to 24 hours, but Shopify hasn't managed to achieve this after two weeks and dozens of emails and live chat calls, we uploaded Identity documents, and then we were asked to upload them again and again etc.So we thought let's try the webchat and each time it was the same thing.Customer reps telling me that my experience is "awesome" , it wasn't, they understood my issue, they didn't and they would resolve it, they didn't.So I thought "ah Shopify is one of those companies that disempowers it customer service team to put a barriers in their way, so they don't resolve your issue.So we decided to try a different approach, we decided to go straight to asking for an updated on the progress.This always starts with you can see updates if you login (even though you have told them you can't login).This will lead to them telling you they sent an email asking us to upload more evidence of identity , which we had already done, they then tell you to upload it again (it won't let you as it tells you that you have already done it) , so after 20 minutes of backwards and forwards you will be shocked to hear that no progress has been made.So this will lead you to think, "Ok why don't I prove it to the customer rep" but unfortunately they can't handle personal information , so they tell you to wait and that someone will get back to you by email.And the non spoiler here is you won't get a response or resolution.I even contacted the CEO Harley Finklestein who doesn't respond to emails.So Shopify is all tech and no service by design.We are just glad we realised how dysfunctional their customer experience was before fully committing to Shopify.An expensive and highly time consuming waste of our time.We now look at our current platform with much warmer feelings.A sadly very disappointing experience for everyone.Update 5th SeptemberEven though I cancelled my shop in July, they are still attempting to take money from my bank account, I have managed to block them from accessing my bank account but they keep trying every two days, so for this reason I have marked them down from 2 to 1.
utterly horrific. Been with them for 8 years and for no reason they stopped my payments getting to me as they no longer liked my bank. There is NO help and my money is stuck in shopify. THERE IS NO HELP. Stay clear of shopify if starting a new business.
Avoid purchasing anything via Shopify. It offers a platform for scam companies and in my naivety, I bought a fake product from a bogus company Smoothtone UK claiming to be London-based when in fact it ships dodgy products from China. I assumed Shopify was similar to Amazon/Ebay offering consumer protection. But it does not have purchasers at heart and takes revenue from any source. You cannot contact Shopify to make a complaint or report fraud advertisers. It’s not interested in any feedback and sadly seems content in the knowledge that consumers are being ripped off through its site.
Scammers using this platform … BEWARE. I ordered an item of garden furniture from a bogus trader calling themselves “Gardenos” very convincing website on the Shopify platform. No goods delivered no responses to emails then shop went down.
Shame I cannot leave 0 stars! We used Shopify to create a business but decided against it, I was under the impression it had closed, but found out 6 months later they were still taking payments from me for £25 a month! When checking my emails, I noticed they'd sent emails each month asking me to "Approve" Payments otherwise they would freeze the account, but they continued to take the payments anyway, I have asked why they took the payments instead of freezing the account but they said it didn't matter, they could take the payments regardless if you have not approved the payments! They refuse to refund and are now ignoring my messages. Please do not trust this company, it is all just a big money grabbing scam.
Shopify have been allowing a non responsive third party app to control my billing. Even though I changed onto the free plan of SEO Ant but yet they proceeded to try and charge me. I am not paying for it but SEO Ant is non responsive to my contact form emails I have submitted 3 times. This has been going on for a few months and Shopify has allowed SEO ANT to mess with my business and website. SHOPIFY are held accountable because they should have stepped in instead of telling me the same rubbish like robots. Th team obviously needs more training and need to be more helpful and the staff have proved the do not read the note/history about the issue when you have to explain over and over again.
