I thought shopify was an honest…

I thought shopify was an honest company, so I decided to sign up for this company but I was tricked by Shopify and when choosing Shopify plans, there was sabotage on the part of Shopify, I was tricked and forced to buy an expensive annual plan in sight, without mine knowledge, I was tricked by the Shopify team, the moment I clicked to pay the transaction with Pay Pal. Shopify took advantage of the situation and manipulated a very high amount of money through Pay Pal, without me even seeing the amount I was authorizing Pay Pal to pay, Shopify manipulated everything in such a dirty, immoral and illegal way that it gave me a very large loss of 852.00 EUR. And when I went to my Bank to check my balance, I found that Pay Pal had left my account with the balance less. So I contacted pay pal and said that I had been tricked by Shopify and asked to return the money that Shopify cheated on me, so instead of Pay Pal defending me, Pay Pal defended Shopify and said that they had already paid Shopify and that they wouldn't get the money back from Shopify. So I contacted the Shopify team, asking for a refund of the money that they had cheated on me and that I couldn't afford to pay such a large amount of money and that they had left my account with less, so the team from Shopify, instead of returning the money they had scammed me, they offered me yet another plan so that I would pay them more money. And that's why I broke my contract with Shopify.What Shopify did to me was illegal and immoral, and Shopify didn't return the money they stole from me to Pay Pal. I just say one thing: stay away from these scammers!!If someone wants to open a website I advise opening it with Ionos and wordPress because they are honest firms with competent and qualified professionals who are always ready to really help their customers.

Terrible Support

Terrible Support. You go on chat, and it takes 5 to 8 minutes per reply, Cleary dealing with too many people at once. 11 replies took over an hour and two of them were automated hellos. As a new customer, they really need a onboarding team to get you up and running fast and help with the little niggles, without that, your just a number. Saying that, I'm still giving 5 star review for the actual ease of using the store, and the amount of apps you can use is amazing. Shopify in itself is a great Ecommerce solution, support is fine for day to day problems, but feel they do need to improve onboarding.Update: 07/10/2022After using the product for a week, yes its a great ecommerce solution, but there are a few problems:1) Categories are now called collections. Inventory management is so poor. If you have a store with 1,000 products, you don't have a clue what is assigned to a category and what is not, so you can end up with orphaned products.2) The ability to edit the product images is poorly implemented. You have to rely on Apps that you pay for to actually get the Cart working as per other providers. Bulk Image processing is not possible.

Easy to use and fast customer service

I've been working with Shopify for multiple years now and always had a great experience. Their support has always been quick and efficient whenever I've needed assistance with anything. I recommend this platform to anybody looking to start an E-commerce business.

No fraud support

If I could score zero I would. My business email address was used to set an account up, I contacted them explaining the situation and was told it would be resolved. I have now received a message stating I have an open accent therefore it can't be deleted. SERIOUSLY?! What more evidence is needed I am in the UK, the account setup originated in Vietnam! Totally ridiculous. No victim / fraud support at all!

Inaccurate Sales Reporting / Missing Basic Ecom needs

We ve been using Shopify for several years now and they appear to have taken on too much business over the pandemic and cannot even service their existing customers.Inaccurate Reporting Data - we recently noticed the sales and report figures did not bear any resemblance to actual sales. Its not the first time this has happened. You have to take the sales data with a pinch of salt and do not rely on it for tax or making any other business decisions. They provide no ETAs to fix anything as you can see from the feedback forums. In some cases people have been waiting years for basic ecommerce fundamentals to be added in such as product dimensions. For an ecommerce system not to have this data despite years and years of thousands of people requesting it shows how bad Shopify has become. In one case they refused to even add a country they missed off. It was several years before they recognised Northern Ireland and added it as a country which is critical. If they ever say we''' add to it feedback request that means its going into an enormous black whole.Payment Charges - these are still much higher than if you created your own websiteThere are still lots of good things about Shopify but dont expect any progress on anything thats not already available. Yes apps are available to help but some things like the checkout are locked down totally so you are at the mercy of very slow first line support and the feedback black hole of Shopify.Overall they need to get the basics right like your reporting data and basic shipping dimensions.

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague. They allow scam advertisements on their app then when need support they are like Mr Magoo. Why would anyone need this app really! You already receive tracking from company you buy from. The last tracking this app showed me my item was a 100 miles in wrong direction but on the day it arrived at my home. Useless app

Payment details kept without permission!

They have kept my payment details for over a year, without my consent and make it impossible to remove them. Very dodgy company. In future I will not use companies who use them and will have to take further action!

They will take you down and ruin your business

It's all great until there is something wrong. After successfully trading through Shopify for many years and having been marked by Shopify as a 'high value store', we were informed a trade mark infringement had been filed against us by a well known brand. This was for products that were non-branded and sold all across major online UK fast fashion brands, also hosted by Shopify (and still being sold till this day). Yet, we were targeted for some reason and without hesitation Shopify pulled our whole store down with immediate affect. As a small business with multiple staff to pay, we were devastated. I understand that trademarks are there to protect businesses but, even as they stated in their email, this was an 'allegation' and was unjust. We disputed this with full receipts and details for proof, and have not had a response from Shopify legal team in over a year, despite multiple emails to them and calls to the customer services team. This destroyed our UK business that we worked 6 years for, employed multiple members of staff (that we since had to let go and leave unemployed) and leased a massive office and warehouse for which we could no longer pay for. My warning to you is do not use Shopify. Protect yourself and build your business on your own platform where you have the control. Because, they don't care. We were left unable to even refund our customers that had returned goods because they did not allow us access to the dashboard or shopify pay. Our business destroyed and worst part, no response from their legal team in over a year.

The brains of some their staff are from another planet.

Customer service is terrible.I asked how to start a business in the UK, like choosing the right business bank account for Shopify payment. They said you are not eligible.It's like when I ask how to cook and he answers, you're not in the kitchen.The brains of their staff are from another planet.
