If you are a seller and planning to sell with Shopify after a few sales they closed your account without any information and holding all the money for 6 months, if you are a buyer and if you buying something with Shopify website or their payment gateway in any cases store closer no way to contact seller. After all my investigation here is that the seller is honest but this Shopify is completely scamming and holding buyers money and blaming sellers. Seller sent all the evidence and confirmation emails from the Shopify support team.In their emails we are closing your website and funds will be held for 6 months. And also can’t cancel or refund money. But when I contacted the Shopify team they told me to contact your seller and all money goes to the seller bank account. Or else just contact the bank, my bank said this process takes months to investigate. After submitting all the evidence which I got from the seller this Shopify saying will not discuss because of privacy policy. After a long discussion with them I asked a straight question: Did Shopify hold buyers' money after asking this question, these scammers run away and till now I haven’t gotten a reply. I am going to submit all this information under consumer law provides protection to the consumer against your fraud and fake service.
Shopify shut down my store suddenly without either an reason or explanation. I have contacted the live chat for few days but they said I need to wait the support team. After 4-5 days, the staff in risk team emailed me and said they found something risk and thus shut my store. They didn't tell me in details. I didn't do anything I dont know why they did such an action. I have paid for the monthly fee and the domain. I have put a lot of afford on building the store, how come they just shut it down without a warning beforehand or an explanation? It's a very horrible experience.
Whatever you do, DO NOT sign upto Shopify.To start software is bugged, errors out constantly. Facebook integration is shocking and fails constantly...Sign up and expect your inbox spammed with scammers, emailing through Shopify.Try and cancel your plan, both webpage and app will error out...Then prepare yourself to sit for over two hours with support, to try and cancel your account..Apparently according to Claire on support, providing your Shopify account name, email address, phone, number, physical address, bank card details, billing invoice numbers. IS NOT SUFFICIENT AUTHENTIACTION TO CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT.Now let's mention the fact that CLAIRE failed to provide contact details for either the complaints department or their legal team. Which is also a legal requirement for them to do so...Now one step forward breaches to GDPR ruling, failed to give a physical address for request of all my details be removed from their system. Again a legal requirement they failed to uphold...I will now be pursuing Shopify through legal routes and will update review later...
Disabling shops seems to be the new norm. Surprised they’re not getting sued for loss of income. Mediocre at best, a shambles at worst and overall a terrible experience. The chat agent was polite but it appears no one cares at Shopify. Is this a company you want handing your customers?
Avoid this company they are awful! i had to update my ID to get payments. did this last Friday, then had to contact them to try and get my money, said it would be in my account Mon 17th. monday 17th- nothing, contacted again, promised it would be in my account within 2 days. Friday 21st still not in my account, contacted again saying i want it in my bank today. They have said it SHOULD be Monday. Crazy that this company can withhold your money and as it turns out they have not paid us a penny since joining over a year ago ( we now have 6k unpaid) i guarantee Monday this will still not be in my account and i will be left having to contact them once again. Useless company. AVOID!
I've been with Shopify for 4 years and the last 12-18 months have been by far the worst experience since owning the website. Their support is non existent and appears to be farmed out to a call centre in the Phillipines and they have no knowledge of the company or basic website structureI am currently sat on a live chat that has been stuck on a wait time of 1 minute, I am now 20 minutes into this. This is after 2 agents closed the chat on me yesterdayMy company is making plans to leave Shopify as soon as we can
Shopify allow scam stores to operate using their platform.I ordered using one of their customers websites on 1st October. I received an email from the store saying they would update me with delivery information on the same day.16 days later still no update on my order. I have tried to contact the store as they suggested... no update after waiting three days. I tried to report the store to Shopify but they have no number or livechat. Just a complaints form which they will take 30 days to look at (brilliant). I have decided to hit the merchant where it hurts... chargeback process triggered. Enjoy your £10 chargeback fee.I advise others to do the same through the credit / debit card company they used to pay for their order.
