Shocking way to treat people with dementia

I have no idea what’s going on at Sibstar , my mum has had a card for a year or so with no problems , 3 weeks ago the machine took the card despite money being in the account , Sibstar cannot explain why and have not been able to issue a new card as it’s with their Head of Technical , meanwhile I have had to give cash to mum every day so she can do her shopping , issue still not resolved really shocking in todays world , not the way to treat people with dementia

Overall a useful card

Overall a useful card. However, it does not let you use the pin in a card machine at a restaurant, you can only reset the taps at an ATM. My friend doesn’t use an ATM so one of us had to count the taps on the app and then go and pick up her card and take it to an ATM every couple of days.

Sibstar but not for Virgin Money customers!

Sibstar support was exceptional from application to card delivery. As a Virgin Money customer when I tried to transfer money the transfer was blocked. I had a conversation with security who seemed not to have heard about the card and explained that VM blocked this because it was associated with scams and cryptocurrency. He implied that the Sibstar website was fake and that none of the reviews by the newspapers listed, and Dragon's Den were genuine.

Ingenious!

I have Alzheimer's and I live in Canada. News programs here reported a great deal of wonderful information about Sibstar debit card. It is exactly, exactly, what I would love to have. Sadly, Sibstar is not available in Canada. Kuddos to this company for developing such an important card that could help ease some of the struggles that so many of us are now going through.

Excellent product which is very helpful…

Excellent product which is very helpful for my family member. Very rarely need to contact the support team, but when I do contact them they are always very helpful and responsive. Definitely recommend Sibstar for anyone who has difficulty managing money due to dementia or other conditions.

Just the facility I have been looking…

Just the facility I have been looking for. My mum has recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and whilst still independent with money, has been giving her card details over the phone to unscrupulous companies convincing her to take out appliance cover. The fact that the card can be blocked for use over the phone and internet has given us all peace of mind. Set up was thorough but straightforward. The only glitch was when I tried to transfer funds into the account the bank contacted me thinking it was fraud. So far I have been very impressed with Sibstar and would fully recommend. It is such a refreshing change to see a financial company with authentic values providing such a valuable service and I wish them well.

Unable to get proper IDs

I gave a five as my experience was great but unfortunately the card is not for me, as I live 500 miles from my mum, so all the paperwork which is needed is impossible for me to get.

Great concept.

Great concept, and the app is fairly easy to use. The notifications of when the card is used are also useful.Would be helpful to be able to set weekly withdrawal limits, as well as daily and monthly. Maybe this can be developed?

Customer service is great

Customer service is great, prompt response to query and now sorted. Love that I can keep a check on every transaction as soon as the card is used it is sent directly to the app so I can control the money. Good you can set limits as well as increase/decrease card amount as and when needed. Very happy and highly recommend.
