Review Time
Used to be so so good hosting websites with Site 5 but now stay far far away. Worse company to deal with Cannot get a straight answer always excuses Very Very poor service. Emails down daily cpanel down website flakey and their technicians have no idea how to resolve a simple issue. If you want to waste money and have headaches everyday sign up with Site 5 Cannot believe I am taking my time to write this as its not worth my time it but to warn others
I was hosting my website since 2006 and the company was on top by that time. Now they are not really competetive anymore: poor service (40 dollars per year for SSL?), very expensive, poor costumer service (my website got hacked and I had to search for professional help). There are plenty of other good providers out there an I am glad that I switched recently (even if I never got my 300 Dollars (2 years contract) reimbursed. Site5 became really bad.
Stay away.Site5 has deteriorated in service and support so that they are now completely unreliable. I hosted my site there for years but since a recent sale to some faceless new company Site5 is now among the worst businesses I have ever had the misfortune to come across.
Absolutely useless customer service. Site5 apparently did maintenance on my site which left it offline for days now. Neither support tickets nor chat were able to help. Cpanel doesn't work, client area is extremely slow, and price definitely does not match their product.
Cancelled my account with them several years ago. Today I got an email saying... "Your payment has been declined. Domain: (my domain name here.com) Our information indicates that the payment method you used to purchase your account with Site5 was declined. Contact your bank for more details on the refusal of payment. To avoid interruption of service, update your payment information now."The email headers indicate this came from site5 but since I don't have an account, I have no idea what they are up to.
I have been a customer of site5 for over 10 years, admittedly I have not done much on my website portfolio for a while but now I am active again. I have 20 sites hosted, my price goes up every 6 months without consultation and each time the service gets worse. Support is non existent, I have to wait hours for a response without resolution, I can not delete a site, create a new site and tonight I can not even log on to my control panel. Avoid! Cheaper, faster and better hosting out there! Shame on Site5! you were once brilliant!I have now found out that I am on a legacy server that is no longer supported. 10 Over 10 years I have paid them and they can not sort the issue and they are wanting more money from me to sort the issue. 300 dollars a year I pay and they will not help! AVOID AVOID AVOID! USELESS! NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!
Dreadful. After being with them for over 10 years the service has declined steadily. The tipping point for me was a 50% increase in my bill (I have a reseller plan) without warning. They claimed it was to continue improving services, technology etc but I have seen none of these benefits over the years - in fact in most cases just the opposite.Many queries (at least 75%) have been not been resolved and rather than pursue them further after several emails leading nowhere I cut my losses and found workarounds.I recently drew their attention to my overall dissatisfaction and that I'd be leaving them. The reply simply restated their reason for increasing prices and there was no attempt to retain my custom or reward my loyalty so far.My advice is to stay away.
I like many other people were using IXWEBHOSTING who were decent. However Site5 purchased these a couple of years ago and since have lost over 200,000 customers! This was a warning even before I had issues. My issue was the day they took over I could not send emails to hotmail, sky, aol and many other email addresses but we did not realise for months as they never bounced back to say not gone through. Eventually we started getting emails to say could not send then hundreds came through. We rely on emails for all of our enquiries and existing customers for statements per month etc. We contacted Site5 which was very tedious and difficult. Nearly 3 years later and hundreds of excuses and emails and support tickets we left on Friday and changed to names.co.uk who were amazing and are based in the UK with actual people on the other end of the phone. We are now sending emails to EVERYONE! Site5 kept sending us a copy and paste response probably because hundreds of thousands of their customers must have the same issue. They kept replying the same thing: Hello,Thank you for contacting Site5 support! We understand that it is important for you to be able to send emails to Yahoo/AOL just like others.We have a task is set to a higher priority level as there are some more complaints on the gateway server. I could see that as a positive response from Yahoo team, most of the IP address got delisted from their end and as the result email delivery to Yahoo/ AOL email accounts has been improved. Our shared server is configured to use random email gateways and each time you send email, a random email gateway is used to send out email. Our system admins are still working on to de-list the remaining gateway IPs that has been blacklisted on Yahoo, which is taking time. We appreciate your patience in this matter!Can you please copy the latest email header in a document .txt or a .pdf format and upload it to your cPanel account under File Manager so we can check and analyze further. Or you can also copy the email header and paste it to the URL https://???????/ >> Click on 'Send' at the top right corner to generate a unique link that will contain the header information.
